  1. I'm not sure how they are just giving them out to people - the gamestop one's near me they only had them available sealed in the game itself. Yeah, i kind of think they were hoping on the Spider-man set to be revealed so they could have an interview with the person making it. Though it was a massive disappointment overall. Would actually be a nice line-up and location to get in set form, though would have dropped Scarlet Witch from that given we get her in another set. Wonder if we actually will get a General Ross figure instead of a Zemo figure...
  2. As others have mentioned, its very unlikely we'll get an X-Men set this year. If we ever do get Apocalypse i'd expect it to be based on the comic book version, given we have gotten a comic-book version of Thanos and Darkseid already. I must admit that i am hopeful we will get Apocalypse represented in big-fig form at some stage, as it would be interesting seeing the three of them together. Depends what you define as a character. To me the set would have been improved immensely if we had the body for Venom also - then we could have the idea of the two fighting before Venom turns into the symbiote. In addition it would make a bit more sense than just throwing a bunch of Venom heads on a mixel styled body. Its an interesting polybag, but overall it just seems like a strange decision. I'd expect that someone was given the Spider-man figure and a bunch of the Venom heads and told to make a polybag to clear them all out before we get a new version of Spider-man (presumably with the fourth Civil War set or perhaps in 2017) I'm expecting the Spider-man figure will disappoint many. Chances are that they only finalised his costume design late into production and maybe even gave Lego a different costume design to work off - as i expect there were many itterations of his suit before they settled on this design. I'd also guess that it will be over-priced, as most the retailer exclusive sets such as 'Hydra Fortress Smash' have felt lacking and over-priced. I know someone else has mentioned this also, but i'm fairly sure the focus of 2016 is on Spider-man and his Lego sets rather than Civil War. Most the set's we've gotten feel incomplete, the figures tend to lack detail or be the same as prior years and the sets all seem over-priced with printing issues. I'm expecting the reason for this is that Marvel have encouraged Lego to focus on Spider-man this year to help re-assure younger fans after 'The Amazing Spider-man' film series and prepare them for the 2017 film, as such Civil War is suffering as a result.
  3. Honestly, this was to be expected. Bionicle G2 has primariyl been a series of tests to see what works and what doesnt. - First year was animations and promotional items - Second year was graphic novels mixed with an exclusive Netflix Series - Third year i think it's highly likely we'd get a direct to dvd movie, something to tie-off the loose ends of the story This is likely the reasoning behind why the graphic novels and books are done. The to-be-released graphic novels will likely finish telling the 2016 storyline and that is their main goal - to set-up 2017 and get people covered on the story leading up to 2017. If they are going to have an affect on sales then chances are 2016 is the last year where Lego will actually be determining whether to continue the line beyond 2017. Sets normally are being worked on over a year prior to release, so if the line is being continued after 2017 then 2016 would probably be the final year for them to put the plan into action. No point getting people on to do graphic novels or books to get people invested in the story in 2017 if 2017 is the final year. The line could very well continue after 2017 and if it does we could see the books and graphic novels return, but for the moment regardless of whether Lego is continuing the line or not, the purpose of the graphic novels and books is complete. I would say we could judge from the reception of those on Youtube who have uploaded the episodes on there, see roughly how many people are viewing the episodes on other sites than Netflix, however most of those are being taken down. Honestly, Netflix is the biggest mistake Lego have made with the idea of a series so far. I know they have it planned for Elves also, however the main issue is that Netflix does not target the same audience that Bionicle is targetting and Netflix is also not promoting JTO either - so less people are finding it. The only reviews on the series are those by fans of G1 or those who are already buying the toys or parents who are showing this to people who dont match the age range its targetting. If they want Bionicle to be popular they should give it a comic like Ninjago, Nexo Knights or Chima - or some form of media promoting it to children. The only thing that actually has done that is the activity book and that never recieved a wide release compared to activity books from other lines such as Chima or Ninjago (I've still yet to see an activity book in store for Bionicle - even in Lego stores)
  4. I feel those commenting about how succesful JTO is at getting you to purchase the toys may also need to consider that you were fans of Bionicle and talking on this topic beforehand. I'm honestly more interested to see what impact JTO is having on people who are not already fans of Bionicle, whether a non-Bionicle fan is even likely to find it or be encouraged to get the toys in a show that doesnt particularly connect itself with the toyline. You can watch JTO and all you'd know is that its made by Lego, as far as i can tell it doesnt specifically announce anywhere that they have action figure building sets available for the characters - that would be something you'd have to spot later if you pass a toy isle or otherwise. Personally if i was watching the show i'd be driven to get Uxar, Umarak, Lewa and maybe Ketar based on their roles in the series, everyone else kind of feels like a side character other than Pohatu who isnt the most likeable character for the most part. It shows a definite struggle for Lego to really abide by trying to combine them all in a humanoid form, honestly i'm unsure as to why we didnt get combo models that turned the into animals or creatures - as that would use the bone pieces more and enable a more interesting combiner. Trying to empower the Toa with the bodies of their brothers & sister seems a little akward to me and the colours clash on the combo's here. They have some good aspects to them, but i cant say i really prefer the combo models to them seperate. ---- Wondering if we've heard any news about the Mask Of Creation polybag, is it ever seeing a large release or will it be doomed to being a Russian exclusive like the Golden Kulta mask polybag? Also, has anyone hear anything about additional polybags or anything? seems strange for us to not really see a wide release of a polybag, especially when similar lines are getting polybags, magazines and promotional items constantly (Ninjago, Nexo Knights)
  5. Zemo is a bit of a wild card, its not expected that we'll see his suit in Civil War, so perhaps we'll get the comic version of him included in a Civil War set instead? Could see Lego doing that instead of giving us just a figure with a suit again. Pretty sure the movie version of Strange has a darker colour scheme - so yeah, we're not getting that Makes sense, honestly all they'd need to do is release the old version of Deadpool from Wolverine's Chopper Showdown and just give him the Ninjago 'double sword storage' piece and most fans would be satisfied... For a start he's the main villain of Spider-man In addition to this with the rebooted version, chances are we'll see Green Goblin appear in 2017 sets and they are preparing to role out a new version of him so they want to use the current version as much as possible. That moment when... Though given we are apparently getting a different costume for him in his solo outing the following year, i could see Lego releasing him as an exclusive this year and introduce a new version based on the 2017 costume next year. I'm using - Rhodey's Iron Man 3 face for Rhodey's Civil War version - Cyborg/Rhodey's Civil War face for Black Panther (flipped around to his angry expression) That way both have different faces, rather than winding up with both having the same face. As for the hair,i personally gave the Bruce Wayne hairpiece to Falcon as it looks better on him and it works with the sleekness you'd expect from someone who does mostly aerial combat. So as much as i dislike the Finn hair, you'd probably be best giving it to Black Panther. One of the main things i find with customising them using official pieces is that you can do the with virtually any piece, but if you want them to look good in a group then they all need to have different pieces as similarities stand out. Seems so far away... though going to keep some VIP points spare for the fourth Civil War set anyway We also had this news about the Doctor Strange set from a while back; Price; £34.99 Based on; Vignette style Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum (Mentioned as including a window, bookshelves and a table) Additional comments; Brick-built red tentacle monster coming through a portal Three Figures; Doctor Strange Wong Baron Mordo OR Dormammu Reports on other two figures; Someone holding a chain with a trans-orange radar dish, and someone holding two fans Sources; - Brickfanatics
  6. In terms of speculation, i'm currently theorising that Ekimu will end up messing up big-time, possibly finding a way to defeat Umarak The Destroyer that would also cause the destruction of the Mask Of Control, throwing the island into chaos and possibly awakening Makuta (In a sort of parallel to how breaking a piece of his confinement in Web Of Shadows released him - destroying the Mask Of Control could do the same) I doubt this is accurate; Yes, Ekimu could betray the Toa and turn evil OR try to become the supreme being OR even do villanous things such as destroying the Mask Of Control (Which could have consequences), it is a possibility. There are hints in JTO that he does plan on destroying the Mask Of Control so its possible he may not be 100% a good guy, given he has the same idea as Makuta in the 2015 storyline (Makuta was trying to destroy the Mask Of Creation that year) Though if he was going to attempt this, why would'nt he just go after the Mask Of Ultimate Power first? Why reveal his intentions so soon by merging the Mask Of Creation with the Mask Of Control? And where would Makuta fit into all of this? Just feels like the idea is full of holes...
  7. "A reissue ( re-release or re-edition) is the release of an something which has been released at least once before, sometimes with alterations or additions." I feel a lot of people here dont understand what a re-release/re-issue actually means, it can be a rerelease for example and have variations that make it different from the original. Which is the case here - making it a variant due to those differences which are aspects that are on every version of the 2016 Iron Man Mk 7. Yes it was designed so kids or people wanting a complete set could easily switch out the 2012 version for the 2016 version without much differences, however the idea was that they would make a new figure with the aspects of the originals but with alterations and additions. Classing it as a variant is what is being done by official sites including Lego; Enquired at Customer services in terms of replacement parts and they said it was a variant, asking me which version of the Mk7 (I wanted to see if it was possible to get a spare helmet as mine was loose) along with other sites that occasionally work with Lego such as Brickset or selling sites such as Bricklink. It isnt a debate or discussion, its just what is. I relayed it as a variant because it is a variant, its not identical. I thought people would know this already >.> Kind of hoping for a flipped version of the head that comes with the 'Silver Centurion' set - could use that for Iron Man then. The issue is a battle damaged Cap would be difficult to accomplish, though i would like an 'angry' Captain America face given its Civil War and we dont have one. Maybe have a battered/bruised suit, though the 'Lego Marvel Avengers' game actually has an 'angry Cap face that would be good to have in Lego form.
  8. He did that after acknowledging and demonstrating the different colours, printing thickness, helmet and other aspects. He values them as reissues, which was likely the intention to make similar versions to the originals using the same designs. However, they are still variants due to them not being the same figures and having differences that can be seen when the two are compared. Multiple selling or Lego cataloguing sites including Brickset and Bricklink classify them as different versions also - they are already accepted as being variants and as the article demonstrates, they are not duplicates of the original releases.
  9. I have 2 of that figure and the details are really not clear enough. Only part that stands out is the silver pieces used for the zips, so its not the best choice for Widow. Plus it has the previously mentioned yellow bit along with a lot of the blue thatGoldenNinja3000 was hoping to avoid,. Also, Black Widow's movie suit is pretty much just black with no other details other than belts and straps... It is new, however it is a variant of an older set. Same design but they've used updated pieces and printing techniques so its not the same when compared. You can see comparisons here
  10. As with what many others have said, the smiling faces are not really going to be used much by people. Civil War is one of the darker times in their life - and its unlikely the characters will be smiling at all, even before things go worse. Its like with the BvS Superman figure, he's got a smiling expression on one side and his laser eyes on the other. So i just replaced it with the gloomy MoS head that looks annoyed on one side with the laser eyes and it fits BvS's depressing mood a lot better. Personally i'm going to be using different heads for a majority; - Iron Man will have his Silver Centurion head flipped around to show the damaged side, which would work well with his appearance in Civil War - War Machine will have the head form his prior version - Bucky will be getting a new head from an older set, unsure which i'll end up going with Not sure what you are on about here... he is effectively one of the two main characters in Captain America; Civil War and he's one of the main characters in the TV show that inspired those sets. Also, we've had more than three variants this year. So far we've had five, four of which are brand new suits we have not got in Lego form before; Mark 7 - Mark 7 Suit Variant (Iron Man Vs Loki) Mark 33 - Silver Centurion Suit (Lego Marvel Avengers Polybag) Mark 37 - Deep Sea Diving Suit (Iron Skull Sub Attack) Mark 39 - Gemini (Avenjet Space Mission) Mark 46 - Bleeding Edge Suit (Airport Battle) Its also possible that the fourth Civil War set could have another Iron Man suit. How to phrase this... umm, Black Widow is a fairly well endowed character who uses her looks against her opponents and her appearances in set form have reflected that. As such i'm not sure the Sharon Carter body piece really fits with her given its more designed to cover-up and it looks fairly detailed or high-tech compared to the stuff that Black Widow wears. I've attempted it personally and the belt of Sharon Carter just detracts from the whole look and the lack of the skin exposing 'v' shape on the upper bit of the torso doesnt help. If you do decide to go with that though, i'd recommend giving her some form of detail on the lower legs as otherwise it'll just look too similar to Sharon Carter. In terms of body pieces, she essentially needs just a black body piece with a 'v' neck. Though I'm honestly not sure if we have a good way of representing that currently with official pieces - what we need is essentially this body piece (A custom made by Christo back in around 2011/2012) minus the belt buckle. Source Edit; at a push one of the Catwoman torso's could work... just the matter of the large zipper piece :L
  11. I know some people may have wanted to not be spoiled by this... Though yeah, i doubt his figure will be awesome... In terms of the design, too much red on the upper body, its going to be virtually impossible for Lego to do a good arm print unless they went full out and gave us a blue arm with red printing and the spider-web design. Guess this means we'll have the dual molded (top blue, lower red) legs for his figure. Personally i feel the spider insignia on his chest is way too small. Can barely even tell what it is and thats from this distance >< Also, his lack of inclusion in the Airport Battle is now even more intriguing. Guessing the fourth set will be for 'The Raft' (The prison in the water) shown in the trailer. Either that or perhaps where Iron Man and Captain America are fighting in that underground bunker sort of thing where Bucky was.
  12. Unless they are keeping the final set hidden for another reason such as Baron Zemo, Hulk/Bruce Banner figure or even a spoilerific scene from the film. Though the trailer should give us answers to a lot of it, though personally hope we dont see much of Spider-man yet (Unless they go with the Iron Spider suit) as i feel seeing him in a classic suit is a little underwhelming after all the hype of him joining the MCU.
  13. In the comics it is a chainmail style suit (Not sure if it was actually chainmail) that looks like scales. Thus gaining it the nickname 'scale mail' though referring to that style of suit seems to be fine with most the community. Personally i refer to it as just a chainmail or chainmail style suit because that was what inspired it and what its supposed to be - the nickname coming afterwards. We've had promo art and a lot of focus has been on the airport battle which i'm beginning to speculate is to draw attention away form the actual final battle that would include a villain that unites the Avengers. Kind of like how Batman Vs Superman made all the information focus on the two heroes fighting and then revealed Doomsday. The scalemail/chainmail suit is presumably one of the several aspects being kept most hidden from the trailers and will probably appear solely for the final battle of the film. Yes he is wearing an AoU style suit in the Airport battle (likely because it is a battle that occurs in the middle of the movie, or similar to the last film has him put on an older suit) however i still feel they should have given us an updated suit for that set - or at least some arm/leg printing. Nobody here would have a chance of answering a question that only Lego knows the answer to, sorry, but we wont know for sure unless Lego says, was just speculation on why i thought they were doing it up Though by bringing this up publically it is somewhat interesting that the sets appeared online for Europe the very next day... The Mandarin set was made to give fans an easy way to get the Mandarin and an Iron Man figure. It was not movie accurate to avoid spoiling the film's main twist. it was highly likely that Lego recieved misleading images on which to base that set off, and that Marvel kept the final battle of Iron Man 3 a secret from virtually everyone. This is not Lego's fault. Hank Pym's inclusion in the Ant-Man set was to give fans the original Ant-Man suit that he wore. Though admittedly they included a head for Hank Pym that was older than what he would have been at the time. Chances are high that yet again, Marvel gave Lego the original idea of the film's ending which would have included Hank Pym coming out of retirement to save Scott or Hope. Box-art is different from the actual Lego sets. The box-art is the actual characters in the actual suits (or CGI'd suits) posing. The multiple t-shirts showing Captain America in that suit along with the multiple pieces of merchandising and the promotional art are all evidence towards its involvement in the film. Honestly been looking into this a bit recently, feel he'd be best suited to some custom pieces - so will probably get some of those for him. Will try and share picks when i get the pieces together :3 - Baron Zemo is likely going to wind up being a guy in a suit and that'll be it. - Doubt we'll see Martin Freeman's character given he's less important than other characters we could get instead - Spider-man could go either way at this stage, not expecting much from him - A movie-accurate Hawkeye would be kind of pointless without a movie-accurate Black Widow to fight against... - Iron Man is always nice, but i dont think he has a different form in this film that would be worth getting in set form As for pictures... do we even have a general idea when this fourth set is out?
  14. Probably in Star Wars ? xD Hope his set is good, though we've seen all the pieces they've introduced in two years and not sure many of them would work with a G2 Makuta set. Concerned that it wont have much going for it (other than the fabled black Skeletal rib piece that many have wanted since the introduction of the piece) But we only have three beasts? Or three types if you view them as basic examples of a hoard. I may be incorrect about this, however i dont think Lego intended the shadow traps to be viewed as shadow traps, instead just extra mouths or grabbing pieces of the beasts. Nostalgia can work both ways. You can be blinded by what you have currently simply because you have it now. - If people prefer G1, thats fine - If people prefer G2, thats fine - If people dont prefer one over the other, thats fine. Not sure why this sort of disconnect between fans even exists other than those trying to dismiss people by lumping them in with one crowd or the other.
  15. That response from Lego is terrible. It doesnt answer why they have not appeared and seems more like saying 'yes, it should be out, but they are not and we wont tell you why' I'm pretty certain at this stage that Lego is delaying them appearing on the site so younger fans or parents confuse the AoU sets with the Civil War sets and end up buying them.. For example; Airport Battle Vs Quinjet City Chase - which would you buy if you had the choice of both? Facts of the matter; - The sets are now over 6 days from their official release dates with no confirmation of when they will be made available - The sets are clearly uploaded on the database, however not being made available for viewing the product pages or to add to bag - Lego seems reluctant to given a straight-up reason of why the sets are not being released A chainmail armoured Captain America i feel is necessary. Why have a fairly movie-accurate Iron Man without a movie-accurate Captain America, doesnt make much sense. Though not so sure about another Iron Man variant in a fourth set, most the movie variants we have gotten for Iron Man are just red and gold, at this stage i'd rather see his other older suits be represented - though they probably would'nt fit in Civil War accuracy. I dislike the Darth Maul style piece also, it makes the head seem longer and the noticeable bump between the two pieces look off-putting. Honestly they needed a Lego head piece with the horn pieces just sort of attached onto him and the stud connection on the top removed.
  16. So if this is the case and it is for the fourth Civil War set; - Vision (Confirmed) - Hawkeye (Speculated) - Baron Zemo (Speculated) - Spider-man (Speculated) That sort of thing for the fourth set would probably make sense, though they'd need to add something else to tip the balance... probably along the lines of the rumored 'red hulk' or basically a villain to balance it out. Maybe rather than Red Hulk they just have Hulk given he's rumored to appear in the film also. - I guess Zemo would just be a man in a suit - Hawkeye would probably be his AoU version given Black Widow was not updated and she is his counter-part - Spider-man and Vision would presumably be new versions - Hulk (if included) would be his AoU version though perhaps without the Avengers symbol - Red-hulk (if included) would probably be a new big-fig or a repaint of one of the other Hulk's You may think that now, however unless we have unique heads for each of the heroes by the time Infinity War comes around, then we'll end up with a line-up where the faces of many look the same and that would just look really odd. The website updater are incompetent. Simple as that. Since the 1st March they have been advertising the other two Civil War sets in the 'recommended for you' area, however someone has chosen not to make them publicly available so nobody can buy them. These sets were meant to be available about a week ago online and they have no excuses for why they are not. The helmet/mask looks 'ok' its kind of like the enlarged Kylo Ren helmet in that it feels a bit like a bobble-head. The wolverine claws dont fit for me - just looks odd. Black Panther has claws, but those are vibranium tips on the ends of his fingers to do a 'claw'
  17. Likely someone forgot to make the pages public, you can see them advertised in the 'Recommended For You' section. Best bet would be for someone to call the customer services and say that you cannot view the product page/add it to basket. All the sets are available in stores (depending on stock ofcourse) but the website updaters are really bad a majority of the time. The pic displays for me... Though yeah, just a waste of a polybag for anyone who has been buying the sets. Weirdest i've seen has been the venom symbiote polybag with several heads attached to an oddly mixel-inspired body. This i'd say is one of the weaker polybags. That moment when the controversial ending is the Venom Symbiote appearing - making it a canon set ;)
  18. Disappointed that the Captain America polybag appears to just be the AoU Captain America with a motorbike with a sidecar. Was hoping we'd at least get one representation of his updated costume for Civil War. Though i guess that could potentially happen with the fourth Civil War set. At this stage i'm hoping for the following from the fourth set; - Captain America (New version based on chainmail suit) - Spider-man - Baron Zemo (Just a dude in a Hydra suit or suit along the lines of Baron Strucker) - Hawkeye (Civil War version) or Ant-Man (Civil War version - normal figure scale) Really hope its a good set regardless Regarding the fourth set, we've recently begun seeing concept art of a large battle between the heroes occuring in a destroyed city environment. Its possible that this was replaced by the airport, but personally i'm not buying that given i'd expect a different more chaotic final battle than just an airport exploding (plus Zemo/Crossbones will probably have some role). I would'nt be too suprised if this is the true 'final battle' area of Civil War where a gritty final confrontation would take place before the emotional ending suckerpunch.
  19. So do we have any more information on the fourth Captain America Civil War set? Release date? Price? Figures? In addition, any information about the Captain America Polybag? (Specifcially printing of Cap) Release Date? I know people were recently talking about the Polybag and apparently Brickset may have the image or something - but i have'nt seen it... ====== Spider-man sets look fairly good, the villains are nice to get and provide a fairly good group to form a Sinister Six (Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Hob Goblin, Kraven, Scorpion, Vulture) Though the Doc Ock set is weird and i'll probably be giving that one a pass. Civil War sets seem to be a bit of a let-down. Giant Man is interesting and some of the figures are nice, but a lot lack printing or re-use pieces. Hopefully the polybag Captain America actually has exclusive printing. The fourth Civil War set has potential. Looking forward to the Doctor Strange set from what i've heard about it - sounds interesting, guesisng he'll have a similar face/hair to Kraven The Hunter. Yeah, will probably replace these with mixels joints or those larger joint pieces that were used in sets like the Hulk Buster Smash. Probably going to fix this by combining it with the Age Of Ultron Quinjet. Though admittedly the amount of Quinjets is getting silly at this stage, especially when it reduces the quality of the Quinjet just so it can be an expensive set.
  20. I know its probably not going to happen, but i would have much preferred a BvS Doomsday figure than the Killer Croc big-fig. Either that or have both, but a lack of the main villain from BvS is a bit disappointing in the Lego line-up.
  21. Honestly getting more of a Rahkshi vibe from the pieces we are getting. Waist articulation plus the 2016 Star Wars body piece would allow for a fairly simple Rahskhi body if the pieces were combined (as i've already posted before) The only thing lacking would be a new mould for a head piece. You could also use the new 2016 armour pieces that the Toa have for uniting as a 'spine' Ah, thats unfortunately, maybe its a 'first few batches' issue like the Kopaka and Tahu board issue from 2015. Yeah, admittedly having the same issues with regular CCBS connections. Even wtih the friction adders they seem to be losing friction over-time even if just put in a specific pose and left. Without them its worser though, used to be able to pose Pohatu 2015 in a 'legs slightly apart, arms like a boxer' sort of thing - however now whenever i try this the friction is not strong enough with the legs and he ends up doing the splits. I still have Toa lhikan from back in 2004 and still has tight joins enough to balance on one leg... not sure why CCBS doesnt have the same longevity and seems to only last a few months before getting too lose for some poses. Having to use friction adders on everything. As a suggestion though, without owning the 2016 Bionicles, is it possible to perhaps add a rubber band or lego tire piece so that it fits inside the joint so that it adds slightly more friction? Wondering if that would work.
  22. Its less the idea that such a solution cannot be modded and just that this is going to be something that limits Lego's own sets. We could have had a virtually perfect Toa with the waist swivvel plus gearbox along with a full level of coverage on the front and back. Its a missed opportunity on their part. The Toa sets have the swivvel, the Star Wars sets have the ability to easily connect with the gearbox... it makes sense to combine the two to maximise the usefulness of the piece. I'm not sure who here owns the Kylo Ren 2016 CCBS set, however that set has no gaps in the body thanks to a few armour pieces and the new CCBS torso it uses. One of the things plaguing the Bionicle sets currently is them being gappy or not having enough coverage, if they had made the alternative piece then chances are it would have fixed these issues and allowed for more customisation for future Lego designs. Instead, the way it is currently, any potential titan/big set with the waist swivvel will have to find a way around using the balljoint at the top - which as demonstrated with Kulta results in the arms looking like they are pushed further back. Just hope we do get that combination eventually, as it would open up to a wide range of set possiiblites. You could have essentially a perfect CCBS set, no gaps, with multiple functions if this piece was created as demonstrated. Been wondering this myself, seen some reviews where people are stating it has really tight friction and others where it spins easily without friction...
  23. So luckily the 2016 Star Wars CCBS sets were released early, and i ended up getting them. Recently though i've been comparing the new pieces their with the gear CCBS body piece - and honestly, the current gear CCBS body piece sucks. If you've seen the 2016 Star Wars CCBS sets they have a body piece that essentially ends just before the arms, enabling the gearbox to be easily attached. Along with having a piece on the back that covers the gearbox and allows for a head to be attached. The pieces included in the 2016 Star Wars sets are as follows; Essentially i'm questioning why we didnt get this (below) instead of the current version; It would have allowed for a variety of sizes, easily customiseable and allowed the 2016 sets to incorporate the gearbox function along with the Star Wars back coverage piece. I guess i just hate to see wasted potential and this is going to be one of those situations where Lego had a great idea for one line and didnt impliment the same idea with another line. I know the designers intended the shoulder pads to probably be thought of as crystal structure's, however its difficult viewing them as anything other than Skeletal body pieces. Feel i might have to mix and match Onua with his prior version a bit.
  24. If it follows the same sort of set layout as the 2015 summer wave then we'll only get one titan set - Umarak The Destroyer. The other four sets being priced the same. Though given they changed things up slightly with the inclusion of Kopaka & Melum Unity Set in the winter wave, it could happen. I just think its unlikely we'd get a titan Ekimu, i'd expect a Toa-sized version to give vibes of 'Takanuva' when he'll probably face off against Umarak and/or Makuta. (Taking it with salt, but yeah, speculation) Trans blue Ekimu Mask... wonder if that would refer to the Mask Of Creation, the Protector Mask OR a new mask? Expecting a Toa-sized version that is essentially a trans-blue and gold version of 2016 Tahu... Umarak as a Demon? Sounds cool. The first thing my mind thinks of with a demon is the legs Umarak currently has, horns and wings. Wings would honestly make sense given the concept art for 'battle bat' that we could have had in Summer 2015. Creepy smile? Thought the mouth on his chest was his real mouth... New mask? Mask Of Ultimate Power perhaps? Though would probably be too soon for that Rock monster esque villains? Would kind of expect that more with the idea of Nexo Knights given the lava monsters... Not sure how i'd feel about CCBS Rock monster villains. I'm hoping that it'd look like a warped version of the Mask Of Light. Even if their is no connection between the generations, i'd really like to have a much more evil looking version of that mask.
  25. I really like Umarak's mask, especially how they went with the black and trans colour scheme instead of the silver and trans which they seemed to be considering. Just helps make him feel like he's an individual threat rather than just another skull villain that Makuta concocted or something similar. The Mask Of Control, i'm not the biggest fan of. While admittedly it has a similar general design to the Mask Of Control seen in the animations, the smooth head and the general smoothness/curved nature overall just doesnt make it look as intimidating as i would have hoped. I like the ruins on the mask though and the eyes, but other than that it looks less than what i'd hoped for. Hopefully we get a more animated version of the Mask Of Control in a future set Re-using a similar weapon is a little disappointing, so will probably break apart the bow and use it to add spikes to him instead. He kind of looks better without the 'trap' shoulder pads. Guessing the mouth on his chest is his actual mouth given his mask doesnt appear to have any mouth - though i'll probably use this mouth for a new version of LoSS. Interesting how we get a printed chest piece with eyes in the first year and now a printed chest piece with a mouth in the second... wonder what sort of odd chest piece we'll get in the third year... Lower legs look a little iffy and a bit disappointed on how the main CCBS body piece is fused with the gear holding piece, would have preferred a way that allowed for more customisation such as having the upper piece have a balljoint attachment so it could be removed from the large body piece - would have allowed us to have titans with individually spinning arms or moving legs or head... so much possibility. As a set overall, Umarak looks alright. Truth is he'll probably sell really well thanks to the Mask Of Control and being a villain set. Though i'll be interested to see what sort of things they do with the summer villains.
