Looking at the sets on the window i do have to say that the rib pieces are definitely the best reason to get these sets and you do get a nice unnatural feel from them. Cool :3 Hopefully instructions come out soon, though in the meantime going to try modding mine a bit xD Do you have pics of your version? Just trying to see mostly how the leg connection is Ah, didnt notice that and attempted to do the other arm as a mechanism :P Either way, the mechanism holds, but its just the weight is too much for the arm joint so it immediately sags. Tested it with a friction adder and it held for a while but still ended up sagging anyway, guess the weight is just too much for the arm when not counterbalanced. Unfortunately not if you want him to have shoulder armour, as the only replacement pieces you have spare are two of the bone pieces and the trans bones from Scorpio. Though i suppose you could always use any pieces you have from other sets to fill in the gaps, but yeah, unfortunately you cant have Ekimu if you want the Grinder/Scorpio combo.

Sets arrived today, so pleased with that. Attempted the combined mode for Skull Grinder here - was in a bit of a rush so ignore the blurred pics Seems to suffer from much the same issues as Grinder, including the inability to raise his large weapon arm. Though without his weapons and ignoring the shortness of his arms i think he works as a good improvement. Will need to look into the back situation, as pretty sure the method i'm using for his leg supports isnt right - if it is then its rather bad in terms of posing as he cant move his legs move pretty much together.

Should be getting these within 5 days or so, though apparently according to Lego's customer service some deliveries may be delayed due to shipments being delayed because of the channel tunnel disruptions (Personally i thought they'd have stock of the new sets here already, but seems most have not arrived yet) Beginning to question if being 'created by Skull Grinder' is simply a different way of phrasing that they were resurrected by Kulta/Skull Grinder using the Mask Of Creation - given that he's essentially reviving them using a mask designed to create? Skull Slicer's name is likely lost due to the amnesia Basher and Scorpion seem to have the description implying they were 'created', depending on what this means i'd hazard that they likely wont have names Warrior seems to be a template for a generic army, as such i doubt he has a specific name, best we could hope for is one that is given a name as leader in the books or something. The Protectors probably have names, though given there limited inclusion in the Winter Wave it probably was not worth getting to know them as characters. If they are planned to return for more than just one more wave, then they'll probably get names

True, though your point does remind me. Why is only Slicer being controlled by the Lord Of Skull Spiders, why isnt he controlled by Grinder? Are the two villains rivals? Just seems like an odd thing to do, having Slicer be effectively a celelbrity for those on Okoto, then have him be resurrected by Grinder, then reveal he has amnesia, then be taken over by the Skull Spiders and then be controlled by The Lord Of Skull Spiders. I mean there is backstory and then there is Slicer xD Just a coincidence, similar to how the Onua shoulder armour on his leaked images to me looked like they had the same engravings as the Mata Nui stone. Maybe Slicer remembering his past will cause the Toa to realise that they cannot remember their own? This could then trigger them discovering aspects that might make them remember their own past before arriving on Okoto

It might explain why the Lord Of Skull Spiders wanted the elemental masks also... given his army of Skull Spiders probably needs to be sustained by elemental energy also. Though i'm still questioning the lack of mention of Makuta... the press release from a while back named him 'Makuta The Mask Hoarder' so i'm suprised the story seems to be ignoring him for the moment. Hopefully the books include him. I mean, we can all go under the belief he is somehow pulling the strings, but its still odd we have'nt had much refrence to him since the backstory.

Well, the UK site is now selling the sets, so an update should'nt be too far away. Max of about a week i'd guess, could be as early as a few minutes time though. Then again... the update may simply be the addition of a few character bios and stuff to the product page, so best not to get hopes too high :P

The name is nice, though sounds like Kulta could have a plot twist where he is determined to destroy the masks in order to prevent harm coming to Okoto or something like that. Also, what is up with Slicer being controlled by LoSS... the animations show LoSS defeated. So guess he's coming back?

Is anyone thinking of getting duplicates for MOC purposes? Not mine, just examples i found. I can see the seige weapon idea working, you plan on making one or the mecha? :)

Asymmetry is fine too, it adds a sense of characters, its just when pieces like the chest plate have an asymmetrical design they seem more unique to the individual set. That can be a good and bad thing, though in terms of making MOC's using the piece, having a chestplate that seems specific to a certain character is difficult to include without fans instantly being reminded of the set that used that piece before. Most of the time when people make MOC's they stray away from using pieces that are too unique to sets such as using a recently released mask. Like this image where most people will immediately question why a MOC that has the Lewa head has the chestplate of Tahu OR this image where people will question why a Rakshi would have Lewa's chestplate. Meanwhile this image only makes you think of Onua because of the mask, as the chestplate is not too unique, you dont instantly think of a set which had that chestplate unless you have recently focused on that aspect (Which is one of the reasons it was used in two different sets in Invasion From Below because it was intentionally generic). Its just that sort of thing for me, considering I'm more hyped for the pieces than keeping the sets in their intended forms :P

Wish the other chest prints had symmetry, Basher seems to be the only one who has it symmetrical yet he has the unfortunate case of having odd colour prints. Skull Slicer's chest print for example would have been amazing if it was symmetrical and didnt include the odd trash compactor nipple he has.

Yeah, can understand him possibly not being one of the physical toys shown or given an animated form - but its still odd to me that he wasnt included in box form with the rest of the 2015 sets at the end when it says 'in stores now'. After all, would'nt lego want to advertise him also. All the Toa were included along with the Summer sets other than Scorpio. Well, the advert doesnt show it, but i suppose thats the implication Still begs the question of which mask will the activity book include - if this is just a solicitation cover then how accurately does it represent the final version of what mask we'll get?

The sad part is it doesnt even need to be unique cover art, just include a panel from the book and just have it as the cover image also. Just something other than the official product images would be nice

Maybe... definitely see them sticking around till November (by then some of the books will have been released which might convince people to get them) and possibly up until we see the release of the 2016 winter wave. Makuta? The dark powers of the energy inside the Mask Of Ultimate Power? An entirely seperate entity? To be honest could be any of those at this stage. Probably Makuta given next year should give us the Mask Of Control if everything works out how they hinted.

WOW, that is seriously Lego just wiping him from existence xD Skull Grinder's powered up mode is just for the sake of a combiner, a combiner that isn't even demonstrated here in a position where it could have been shown off. The Skull Villains are all defeated the instance Skull Grinder is defeated, implying in the advert, that they only remain functional when Grinder wears the Mask Of Creation Wonder if Ekimu's creations would also fall apart if he was less skilled with the Mask Of Creation? Also... 'save the world?' guess that they forgot to establish the idea of the world being threatened. If anything it was only small villages being threatened by the skull villains?

From the pics it seems you have the 'floating pin' issue that has plagued a few of the new sets, where the pin doesnt stay in properly and thus each subsequent turn loosens it moving it further out as shown in your pic here. The gear should be close to the gearbox like the rest, instead its moved out so less of the gear is actually causing friction. Its shown to be an issue in all your pics, not saying that it definitely would'nt need the third gear, just saying that in this case having a loose pin would give more reason for it needing a third gear. If you own Scorpio (And if instructions are available or you can work from the image) can you try doing the combo model? :3

I think Lego overcompensate for the weight on some of the sets, such as the stiffness of the arm ratchet on Onua. Two probably could surfice, but they went with three to be sure.

I suppose its a way of developing an easy constant theme though; Bionicle Gen 2 being the good guy Toa with the powerful magic masks vs the evil dark undead beings controlled by the evil magic of Makuta... Its very basic, but after all that is what they want the story to appear on the surface, even though books and other media may help to develop it.

Is it possible Lego could be concerned about releasing a new wave of Toa so close to the old wave going out of retail? Especially if they are the same characters just in new forms. Alternatively they may want to pace it so they have more to vary the new wave of Toa from the previous wave, releasing the new forms of the Toa next summer will mean they'll have sold as many of the old toa versions as possible and will give them more time to design/make/introduce new pieces? Possibly we could see a more expensive selection of sets similar to the price ranges for the Star Wars CCBS sets - that could explain the lower number of sets being released as Lego tends to keep the total for each wave to a certain amount. Its also likely the Bionicle sets for 2016 winter would be in competition with both the late 2015 Star Wars CCBS and the Winter 2016 Star Wars CCBS so they may limit the selection to enable fans to get both at an affordable level. Though yeah, as you and others have said, it could be fake and probably is. I'm still remaining skeptical, but will keep an eye out to see if these names or anything else appear. Personally would hope for Vampires to be honest if they were going with another undead theme. As others have mentioned Skeletons seems similar to Zombies in terms of what sets it could provide, though i suppose it could introduce a lot of cool half-masks. Yeah, i agree they are probably fake. Just wanted to share them just incase as it may help people find them :P A ghost line could be a good way of keeping with the undead theme and allow them to re-use and introduce new skeletal pieces though. Apparently the source told them Bionicle would return 2 days before the Bionicle Winter leaks appeared online, along with a few other things though they were not too specific. Personally skeptical of that and the information provided now. Though wanted to share the names and numbers, as if real, it may help people track down information on the new sets when they arrive online - plus i'm personally anxiously awaiting images of the 2016 sets.

Seen some names and set numbers floating around recently that correspond with a rumored 4chan play testers reports that were mentioned prior. Not sure how legitimate they are, currently skeptical on them myself, however given we received names and images around this time last year thought i should share just incase; Not entirely sure the policy on leaked names/numbers... hopefully sharing them is fine, if not i'll remove them Yeah, true. It would probably be better honestly if they ebay'd the masks so they could wind up in the hands of a collector, just so a few years from now we can see someone displaying all the collectibles together.

I think the idea is that people want the winners to be actual fans of Bionicle, whether they be new fans or old, so that we can see more pictures of the mask and know it is in good hands. I know one of the winners was boasting on facebook about how they were going to sell it. I suppose most the community would just prefer that the more rare aspects of Bionicle be in the hands of the community who know how to care for it. Currently only one winner seems to be active in the community from what MonkeyChud mentioned, so there is the possibility that with some of these masks we may never see or hear about them again, which from a community standpoint would be a great shame. Personally i dont mind whoever wins doing almost anything with the masks, but i feel it'll be a loss if they were lost or sold or just if we dont see more images of the masks and them being worn by their respective Toa.

Chances are the books wont bring too much to discuss anyway likely being a re-telling of the winter and summer story arc, but even if they did bring up a lot of new stuff i doubt it would get to the stage where we are overwhelmed with things to talk about given the release schedule. Books along with (hopefully) animations will need to tie us over until the next set leaks, then set release, followed by more books. Its nice to have a variety of things to talk about at any given time. Essentially after the set releases there is normally a drought in discussions until we get leaks, and the cycle repeats. The animations we discuss briefly but most the time the discussion is limited due to the length of the animations. Unless we get a bunch of books coupled with a TV series then i doubt it will get as hectic as the Ninjago topic in terms of story discussion. Would prefer being able to talk about the story details (even if they needed to be spoiler tagged) in this topic anyway as i feel there may be topics to discuss that link the two - such as accuracy of sets to descriptions or animations, potential hints at new sets, characters we could have gotten that are mentioned in the books, etc... To be fair at the moment i believe we only have three books scheduled for this year and they appear to be split over three months during the drought between set leaks and set release, so i doubt it will be too cluttered
