Here is a vote for that Grevious' Starfigher cockpit technique. Ingenious masterpiece. But yeah, probably not.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Zzz replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I went to gamestop today (I do hate that shop but that's another topic) and asked - they hadn't heard of anything like that so far but it doesn't mean anything since EU release date is mid may. I was told that they get notice sometimes only one month in advance. (Still, I ain't buy it there, it just helps to know there might be more wooden Sparrows on BL/ebay!) -

Mmm.. I want that wooden Jack Sparrow! Afraid it'll be difficult to come by in the EU.. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Zzz replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Don't get this as a random rant please, it's an honest question. Why are there no phase 2 Clone Minifigs yet in 2011? They appear in season 3, though not as main character, but they do. I assume Lucas knows a bit in advance what to put into the seasons and I would say they brief TLC in advance with sketches, images etc. Why no phase 2 in 2011? (The lonely Clone in 8091 doesn't count cause it's obviously an E3 set.) Will we have to wait one year to see those minifigs and even another to get our hands on BPs? -
Right. In my mind it was, not in my post ; ) So even more OTish...

I am sorry not to have too much time in the moment, so can we list all the rumours (I would say N-1 is kind of confirmed, right?) - Echo Base (it's on brickset and I even posted it here but should be still treated as a rumour) - Stun Tank - Jabbas Palace - Cloud City that's all? Pretty OT-ish in my book. Any other CW or PT rumours?

New Smaller Reduced LEGO Box Size?
Zzz replied to Skull-Mark_Ladybug's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remember some boxes to be incredibly huge, eg. Echo Base and the Landspeeder (both 27€). I was surprised and delighted by the ARC-170 box. It felt heavy, neat, perfect. It was pretty thin but if that is a possible way to go, I don't care. Smaller is way more nice! -
Terrible. I hate it that LSW became a part of the generic franchise system. I like what Lucas did, but he is overdoing with the godfather-like stubborn over-control of merchandise. He learned too much of Coppola, the other weird control-freak. I liked the 1999-2001 and 10th anniversary boxes, nothing else.

My thoughts about your review: It's very good, your pics are nice and you put a lot of info and details into it, such as writing specific thoughts about this and that and even comparing the speeder! I like it a lot but I have to agree with Masked Builder: just put a few sheets of blank paper on your desk and your review will look brilliant and super professional! About the set: I don't like the old ski-pieces with the hinges that don't exist anymore since 10(?) years. Also in the E1 droid carrier, totally stupid those things. And then, why not 4 different figures, would it have been too expensive? A clone pilot would have been nice or a new Commando or something. I don't think it is too much asked for. Just another helmet. Also, the ARF should have had Camo but you can't have anything. 4/5 for me.

Wow.. I loved your temple and I love this train! I spent some time in Japan and really fell in love with japanese trains (you have to, when you're there), plus playing Densha de Go etc - and I have to admit that your creations make me feel like being back in my old home! It seems you had a bigger layout with the temple etc, can I find pics of it on your flickr or somewhere?
-
It does. But do phase II clones use the helmet gear? Cody has a visor, but besides that, I don't recall seeing any use of it. Anyway, would be nice but also smaller in size, compared to the existing ones..
-
Excellent. Do you (and others) think that they use sw272 or will they make a new, more animated design? Any ideas?

The other day I browsed through new City sets in a department store and gazed at the new prisoner transport. Actually, they had a lot of sets of the old prisoner transport (2005) on the shelfs, right next to it, and they are almost the same! Though I know that in 6 years the usual customer of city products is not into City or even Lego anymore, I think that making this new van in black would have been an amazing set and I wouldn't sit here in bad mood and write these lines, I would play with it right now!

Amazing review! For 40€ I would so pick it up. But 50€.. argghh.. Will be exclusive to Lego stores, s@h and probably another shop, don't know what it's in UK. Sometimes Argos or TRU, you need to check.

It freaks me out that the CW TV series is not switching to Phase II yet. It feels like an eternity that we have Phase I troopers now. I need new and varied Phase II!
-
Wow - 1st pics of the harbour sets! The marina looks nice but the boat from the transport looks like it could swim and is 8-wide.. A bit too big for my taste, damn it.. The upper pic, I cannot make out anything. I recognize sets I have seen elsewhere but besides that it's rather hard to make out what it is... Thanks a lot for these!

Absolutely impressive. I love everything about it and it makes me remember my last time in Japan with a lot of good feelings - thanks a lot for that! I noticed that you made some last-minute additions of series 3 minifigs and they figs and pieces fit absolutely perfect! I would like to see more japanese MOCs from you (you seem to be an expert on those, this temple is spot-on!) and if you do, consider the Harry Potter torsos to make some schoolgirls and plain black suits for some salarymen! Those you shouldn't miss! But still, I am stunned - it's beautiful!

That's expensive for a BP figure that just came out. I got some pretty cheap Rebel Pilots for example, even if he was exclusive to the BP at that time. You are sure right about 10$ being a lot, there are quiet a few minifigs I want more of with that price..

Someone with a bit more knowledge of the movies might guess what the "Captains Cabin" set might represent and so what minifigs it might has? I remember Johnny Depp and some wig-featuring officer in a cabin - and I remember this tentacle guy with his organ.. Might there be something else? Whatever it is, I am afraid of only getting 3 minifigs, seems the trend now. Indy had 4, PoP had 3 and HP has 3. PoP marked the change with the 4-fig prelim pic then. They are going so cheap. Seriously, no one can tell me that if you put another not exclusive minifig in that set, TLC is facing bankruptcy.. But that is another thing. Whatever, I am interested in what minifigs the smallest set might have, since the optional magent set is no way of getting some cheap figs anymore.. -
I have to admit that ARF is really tempting and the commander is neat. But the orange troops and the strange ski-pieces on the speeder bike keep me back from paying 15€. Thanks for the review though. Your pics of the ARF made me love it (and holding the package in my hand the other day didn't do that!) Guess he will be expensive on BL.

After seeing the better pics I am severely disappointed with the Ewok set. Upgrades are not always getting better it seems (AT-AT as well). Compared to other OT 26€ sets (Landspeeder and Echo Base) it's really not that much. A new Ewok, a Rebel, Luke, Stormie and Scoutie with a speeder bike and a nice tree would have been it. Not this... thing. On the other hand, that Sith Infiltrator looks very very nice. I don't have one yet and highly regret not getting the last one. I just hope it has some nice storage and lots of it, but I am afraid the ingenious opening mechanism of the previous model isn't there anymore. Still, just a beautiful ship and a nice version, lovely minifigs and something that looks like a cool landing gear!

from Brickset: 7877 Naboo Fighter 7879 Hoth Echo Base I didn't see that coming. They're going all out on Episode I. -- Falcon looks great with great minifigs. It will be better and more stable but share the look of 4504, which is ok for me. Wookie (...) Ewok Attack should be Scouty and Ewoky, not very Rebely, too bad. Sith Infiltrator looks amazing. The last minifig has that "special" tag on it, I assume. I hope for Qui-Gon. Naboo Fighter might be System or midi, who knows. The last System was ok, so I would be happy with that. Echo Base... Now that's a surprise. What strange collection might it be? We've got a lot so far. But I am not against a real base with a hangar and medical room. I just hope they return to the better 4500 speeder design-wise. Or make a new one from scratch. Would highly appreciate.

After ten years of new SW sets it becomes such a funny tradition that the first pics are of such bad quality. So we all can say that new pics bring tears to our eyes ;) No, seriously, thanks a lot for the pics! About the wookie attack: how can anyone make anything out? I see only 3 figs sadly, but there might be a "x2" added to two of these hopefully. After the January wave is not my cup of tea at all, I cannot wait for those sets!

As a (mainly) OT fan, it was an a fairly easy decision but places 2 and 3 should be also mentioned: 3. (2006) - Great remakes with good details and new techniques like B-Wing plus awesome new models like the Sail Barge or ISD 2. (1999) - I sold most of the sets to get money and space for newer ones (I was stupid), but seeing LSW for the first time, that X-Wing and Landspeeder in these amazing boxes - it was more than a special moment in my life. 1. (2009) - Everything comes together here, TLC convinced Lucas (good job, my danish friends!) to have some un-cloney and very pretty boxes with the original artwork, the model selection was fairly new and unique, and the content.. Well, 2009 is the reason I am a fan of Star Wars Lego. The models are so nice and cleverly designed, first of all the Tantive IV and the new AT-ST. We got tons of new figures, literally tons! No stickers. And simply things we always dreamed of and wanted (Tauntaun, Ackbar, Endor). I must admit that Home One is more on the expensive side but Endor makes up for it and is the No.1 reason that this year is a blast. This set is one of the best Lego sets ever. It's amazing AND has a fair price.

What's the best Minifigure ever made?
Zzz replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I love new Stormtroopers, Scout Troopers, new Rebel Pilots, Yavin-, Hoth-Endor-Rebels, the Spartan and the Popstar and lots more. But the best one is still the one to come.
