After some work in my (not so much ) freetime, I almost finished my project for a F1 racetrack with paddocks. I started to work on it some months ago, due to I like F1 and motorsports and I was partially inspired by old LEGO sets I played with when I was a child. First design idea was based on old road plates, but I cannot find a plate that really matched my idea and needs. So I decided to move on to new LEGO modular roads and I think it was a very good choice: they gave you ability to reach high details level. I was able to reproduce racetrack start line, cars positioning lines, pit lane markers and so on. In addiction to it I was able to add studs on pitlane so you can attach mechanics minifigs. The top section of each team-box can be detached easily and can be swapped togheter as you prefer. I designed some race commentary rooms with microphones, race statistics on monitor and so on and a podium part. The podium section is two team-box wide, fully detachable and has a pilots after race interview room on the back. MOC has width compatible with standard 32x32 road plates (2 of them) so it can be easily added to an existing layout. I also tried to imagine some stickers to be placed on podium section top panels. I tried to design this as modular and extendable as possible and now I'm working also on the part for the spectators which will be attached in front of paddocks (where there's the small green grass part) and it will be also compatible with 32x32 road plates. I added my MOC to LEGO Ideas, if you like it you can support me here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a914f1ad-f2da-4ec9-80df-009c2073b7c1 NOTE: I cannot edit the project on Ideas yet, so some images here are newer and a bit different. In a couple of weeks I will be able to edit the images on Ideas as well :D

I think some of them read these forum of AFOLs...btw there're the ambassadors so maybe you can contact them to link this thread or others ;) LOOOL :D :D

Be happy, they're Lego :D you can buy the model and modify it as you wish! I already tried to duplicate the car front with LDD on the base of the preliminary images, and it's quite good. The only parts very hard to do are the panel over the tires because they does not exist :(
-
I don't think so :) Lego decided to ends its partnership with Shell but if on the preliminary model they put Shell stickers the solution was simply to remove them, not redesign the entire model. At first I though the redesign could be linked to the needs to produce new items for the model (the curved panels on the tires) and so this will introduce too high costs, but they still introduce new items so I really don't know why they changed design so much :(

Yep, but the Toyota still has nice curves and areodinamics (I don't like lights at all, but it's my opinion), Lego model instead look like a box...the example of the burger is really close to this model BEFORE/AFTER version :( I'm searching for better images of first version but without success...I'm thinking to send email to Lego asking for them. The model has been released so I don't think there's any problem if they give away photos of previous version, isn't it? I'm totally according with you :(

MOC - Modular Hydrogen Fuel Station and Fuel Cell city bus
Noisemaker replied to Noisemaker's topic in LEGO Town
Is it your? I'm really sorry, I never want to copy anything... I just found that image you have in your signature on google images where I searched to grab some ideas to make the roof over the pumps and I really liked the curved piece as the solution to make the border. -
I don't like final version very much... the preliminary images we've seen some days ago have a little bit smooth and nice design imho If I will buy it when it will be available I will try to reproduce the 'preliminary' design I think... [prelim image removed]

Hi all :) I wrote this post to present two of my moc inspired by Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology :) Why this subject? Firstly because I believe hydrogen could really be a valid alternative to classic cars fuel. Combined with electric cars it enable green power and short stop to re-fuel the car (not hours as battery powered cars require). In second way, my original idea was to build a city fuel station, but I didn't want the classic boring fuel station. It's a set we've already seen in multiple version, both by Lego and MOC. So...stop the words and here we go with photos :) You can see 3 of them here and other are in the flickr album FLICKR ALBUM As you can see final version of my moc use 2 plates 32x32 stud, so it's fully compatible with modulars. We have 4 hydrogen pump (2 on each side) and a small shop with foods, driks, newspapers and so on. The grey part inside the shop is a sort of shelf, but LDD don't allow to put things on it :( Outside the shop we have the big hydrogen tank protected by a fence and a little space to check tire pressure and other small car settings. I created also a "new logo" for this line of fuel. The company is the storic Octan and the name "Hy Energy" is a claim both for "Hydrogen Energy" and "High Energy" :D :D The fake stickers in the 1st image was applied with photoshop :) With the same idea of hydrogen fuel cell, I created also a city bus, based on set 7641. The exterior is quite similar (some small changes are mirrors and colors) but the inside structure was totally redesigned with SNOT technique to allow two (half) tank of hydrogen under the chassis. I hope you like them and wait any critics, suggestion or similar :) NOTE: to avoid problem or similar please note that I used some ideas from moc around the web for some part of the structure ;)

Thanks for the answer :) I never read about it I though the cause was cafè corner was 1st modular which has been released so Lego keep it "simple" just to see the market trend behaviour (success/unsuccess) and then they add more details with other sets.

I ever asked myself why Lego has released cafè corner without furniture :) Recent modular buildings have very detailed interior but the cafè corner has not interior at all Btw it's a very great job, I love it very much!

I'm quite agree with previous posts :) Ghostbusters HQ is a building with a road on both front and one side as you can see for example here: You can modifyour MOC in a simple way building a sidewalk on one side and the narrow street between the other building on the other side (where there's the gate in the photo). You can put there emergency stairs and other typical elements. :) :)

Really nice!! :) :) I like your moc Maybe you can add more details inside of the station :)
