  1. Nice review. Thanks for posting it. Very detailed. I so wanted one of those crater base plates back in the day! And those boxes with the flip top lids how great were they? I went to buy my first lego set after my dark age and the first thing I tried to do was open the non existent lid :D
  2. Thanks for your help with suggestions for finding the screaming head (that's an odd sentence). I also picked up the one you suggested. Regarding Photoshop I think it's best to focus on the physical Lego other than the digital skills. I got a Jar Jar too but it's difficult to think of a demise that you haven't already covered ;) but I'm a tryin'
  3. Hi all Here is my latest build "Attack Of The 50 Foot Minifigure". It's inspired by the classic sci-fi movie "Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman" and built using a large minifig head from my Lego desk tidy. Thanks to all those who replied to my request for help finding a screaming mini fig head Sven F, Peppermint_M, tkatt, dr_spock and the rest. I actually got most of the figs and heads recommended as they were all so good. Thanks Guys :) This is how it goes together.
  4. That's totally fantastic. It turned out great in brick format. Are you going to replace that cockpit window later?
  5. Nice work. It's like an official Lego set, including key movie scenes. Those custom figs are impressive. How about trying a few embossed bricks 98283 on the walls as a finishing touch?
  6. Blimey! That's very impressive. Must of cost the price of a small house!
  7. I noticed the same markings on some pearl gold jumper plates too. This time on the side. It's a pity the curved bricks have the markings in such a prominent place. Oh well, thank you for the reply, most helpful.
  8. Hi all I got a Lego Ultra Agents set recently and received two new metallic 1x2 curved bricks. They have this weird pattern in them, probably something to do with the manufacturing process. I was wondering if they are meant to be this way? Also if they are bricks damaged at the manufacturing source can I ask Lego to replace them?
  9. I use Brick Owl over Brick Link as it's just a breeze to use. I have found reliable sellers in my region. Brick Link is very clunky and amature in it's functionality which puts me off. But it's got a lot of content. So it's worth "learning" to use for those hard to find items. As dr_spock says it's like eBay regarding the sellers. My advice is to make small orders first to test em out.
  10. Do people outside the UK know about Warhammer 40k?
  11. He deserves it. He has a nice manner of reviewing sets old and new. He is a long time Lego fan and moc builder. He often highlights new or interesting parts use and building techniques so it's not like getting a review from someone who just collects toys. Other reviewers content often consists of a list of things pedestrian statements "You get two flick fire missiles, you get a cockpit that opens.." Which is less engaging and is really information you can glean from a static image. I subscribe to Jang Bricks and I am always pleased to see him posting new reviews.
  12. I'm actually using Cardio Carrie right now but she looks odd in her workout clothes. The Fabu-Fan would be perfect. Pricey though. That's a great face thanks. I'm getting that. Just because it's great. Yup. Many thanks. I'll look from this one. What a great mini fig. Thanks, I'm sorry I missed Alien Conquest during my dark age.
  13. I'm no photographer either. I'm more interested in Lego than photography. I just use the smart settings on my camera. I You Tubed it this week to find out what light boxes do. I got a small light box and two little lights from Amazon. I think it's worth investing the time in looking at some techniques just to scratch the surface of photography. I put effort into making something good in Lego. I want the image I end up with to reflect that. But forget about paying a professional a few evenings online is all you need.
  14. These builds are good but the photos don't do them justice. Especially since you clearly put so much effort into building them accurately. I don't think you need an expensive camera. I got a cheap light box my photo quality improved. It breaks up the incoming light which creates softer shadows on the subjects.
  15. Hi all I haven't been collecting long and need some advice. I'm building a moc that needs a screaming or deeply upset female mini figure head in traditional yellow. Can anyone tell me of a set containing one or the name of a mini fig that I could go on the hunt for?
  16. I seen this over on moc pages. It really captures the look of the loader at mini fig scale. If Lego ever did an Aliens set it would look like this.
  17. Cool I didn't know Robbie appears in Lost in Space. Well I suppose my robot is a homage to all classic sci-fi robots. Don't forget Tobor the Great too!
  18. Thanks. My collection is still pretty small so this is about as big as the builds can get.
  19. It was on my radar in the early 90's through the board game "Space Crusade" which I guess was a mainstream game in the U.K. I had no idea what it was apart from that. I recently got Space Hulk on ipad and loved it and looked it up online. It certainly looks cool. And there are loads of Lego builds of 40K stuff. I'm curious you say not all their content is original. Is there other stuff out there like it? My inner nerd needs to know. That's exactly what it is :) such a fun set, loads of good colours.
  20. Looks really good. Like a flying go cart or something. It's a interesting technique. I would like to try it somethime.
  21. That would be "Quatermass and the pit" and it sounds like a good idea for an MOC.
  22. ! I have no idea how this was made... Probably some kind of magic I'd imagine.
  23. I think they look great, Bossk's is my fav. They certainly look like SW universe ships. Did you design these ships yourself or are they from concept art of the bounty hunters ships or something?
  24. No my collection is all pretty new. It's from 76000 Arctic Batman Vs Mr Freeze. You get two trans blue rock pieces. So potentially you could have a whole host of frozen mini figs.
