  1. I haven't realized till now how huge this is. Reading the title (120 cm x-wing) hundred times still doesn't give the perspective that your last couple images do! Best luck with the project.
  2. Just when I think this design can't get any better, you come and nail it a bit higher once again! Wonder, wonder, wonderful. This might very well be my first moc of someone else I buy bricks for and build :) Also thank you very much for throrough description!
  3. Very nice and original! Great creation. Are you going to finish the landscape anyhow or it remains plain?
  4. Any chance for some of your other models to be displayed on Prague Expo? I'm totally making it there this time and as much as I admire this diorama, I'm way more keen on your Venator or ARC170 for instance ;)
  5. Ellis, from my perspective, this is a step to the dark side :D Ok, less pathetic, it's not a good move. Three reasons that may convince you: Your original plating doesn't overhang all that much. Pretty acceptable I think. A bit more, but see reason 3 for better solution. New design suffer two major flaws. First the awkward step at the front - idk how about you but for me that would be reason enough to pull back, Second, the cutout piece where twin side turbolaser is is pretty much gone. But it should be there and it should be prominent. It's significant feature and your original design implements it nicely! Much better way to reduce overhang is to insert one or two layers of plates BENEATH your greebling. In fact, the increased depth allow you to play more with the greebling, possibly creating some more interesting features and various layers there. All in all, I vote for the original plating. Btw I see you worked on the back section of the hull some. Improvement, but still a bit short in my opinion. If you' like to hand me over your lxf file, I can propose what I think would be closer to accurate :) All best for further design!
  6. Wonderful. Thanks for the info. This is trully one-of-a-kind creation. May the well deserved fame be with you :D
  7. Cool. How heavy is that middle terrace section (the big one)? It looks hige but you seem to hold it and swoosh it with ease :)
  8. You are unstoppable! So many great projects at such pace.
  9. A lot of Venator images and renderings are, I think, misleading. For instance, I have this book of 'incredible cross sections' which is usually considered great refference, But the venator in it is heavilly off. I also think that many screenshots from games and animated series are a bit untrue. As much as I studied the original design that trully appeared in EP III, I found these renderins to be the most accurate in terms of overal proportions (not the details like greeblings etc) http://jasonmartin3d.deviantart.com/art/Venator-Star-Destroyer-Side-149783502 http://jasonmartin3d.deviantart.com/art/Venator-Star-Destroyer-Side-149783502 I very much encourage you to checking those. Many builders tend to built they Venators to flat and wide, while the original design doesnt seem to be the case. These 'blueprints' seem to scale well with the fabulous huge lego Venator built by Erik Varszegi, who as a proffesional most certainly had the best references, so that's another reason why I trust these to be accurate :)
  10. As far as I'm concern, humidity shouldnt affect ABS parts to some great extent. Temperature may. I also have some technic models assembed for more than a decade and no signs of such splitting. Anyway, These parts are least of bother to buy replacements for, If nothing esle is damaged, its cool.
  11. Good comparison. This iteration of Primus design is by Bob K. (mocpages, Ideas). It retains the original shaping and geometry, most modifications went towards these cool engine thrusters, whcih are redesigned by Bob and also adding of these lever-blasters, which i rather dislike :) I'm quite suprised how substantially bigger is your front section - I thought it was more or less the same as Primus design. That really proves you took your own way to create it, which is great! What is not great is the rear part. These wings look really weird on your versions, Should have been longer, more towards sides and back as well. Also the narrower 'neck' where these docking bay door is should be a bit longer. Basically, from a quick look, your front part, which looks proportionally very well, is of about 1/5 bigger than Primus. Given that the proportions in his design are quite accurate, you should try to make every part bigger by the same proportional amount. Overall, I am positively surprised by the front portion of your ship, fingers crossed that you can master the rest of it as well. Good luck!
  12. Wonderful! PistenBully is this kind of dream model for me, I can't really say why. Perhaps it's a reminiscence from my early childhood when I adored these machines working on steep hils. Anyway, I simply have much more appreciation for a snow groomer than for a car, no matter how cool is it :D Your model is excellent. Not overly complicated but functional enough. I really like the treads, although I wonder how good grip would they have on a slope. Have you tested some performance? It seems to run wonderfully on flat ground though.
  13. I love that table! :D Mate glass on sawhorses, couldn't be more stylish. Good luck with the build :)
  14. No Functions? Easily forgiven! :D This is fantastic. I know it's massive but could you bring some comparison photograph? Like 'banana for scale' :D
  15. Very nice. We can question how much sense does it make to submit ideas burdened with existing lego license, but that shouldn't repell us from supporting. I deffinitely support this. I have seen several attempts for Cloud CIty playsets and this is argurably the best of all. Good job!
  16. ^^Small? These two canopies are very similar. In fact, the one proposed by Ramses25 is LONGER by one stud. The only other difference is that this one has hinge mounts, whereas the other has a solid 1x4 plate sticking at the back. I don't really think this canopy is more accurate, it seems to me that both are fairly inacurate but there is no better choice except brick built solution. But it is for certain at least equally accurate as the one used by Elis and definitely not smaller ;)
  17. Anio already pointed this out to you in your original topic. It is about the command bridge tower. People keep blindly copying Primus design, which was developed in 2013 when no 1x4 slopes existed in gray. Now they do come in LBG so there is no point in having these ugly steps.
  18. Agreed on that positive note. Although I know it's maybe hard to get any good feeling. It's really sick what they do.
  19. What gear connects the trans wormgear gearbox with that tan bevel gear? I suspect that its that small flat bevel gear right? If so, its not good. Such big flaps create big torque, which is even advanced by your gearing. To much stress on that one element. Also your hull looks very dense. To dense. All the bricks and plate, that would be heavy. I'd suggest incorporating some technic brick frame and then plate or brick it around, so the structure is not as beefy and more interconnected :) Otherwise i really like the wings. The angle forced in by 123 slopes might be a bit to tapered, but I think the overal look is worth the innacuracies. My only suggestion is to incorporate some textiure in the wings. swap some bricks for these grille pattern bricks, or bricks with studs on sides and add some little greebling. This is not imperial shiuttle, these flaps seem to have some texture to them.
  20. I really like the changes! Very good job. It makes incredibly good impression on me, whole model is somehow consolidated, well ballanced. It really looks like something created by pro lego designer, but without their usual set-restrictions :) Still you haven't gone overboard with the complexity of the design, which gives that a hardly to describe charm.
  21. Ho for brick built wings. This scalle definitely gives you enough room for that, It will ultimately be better than plates, I'm sure. The underside is simply to prominent here.
  22. Practical tip - do crop the images after rendering before you upload them. The last one is really funny - tiny fighter somewhere in the sheer blue void, :D
  23. Superb! Such cool vehicle, especially depsite its small size. Tremendous job!
  24. What bothers me most is the windscreen. It's the same story once again over, but these Xwing windscreens are soooo inaccurate, even for Xwing itself, and even more for this... i mean, just look at it :D There is zero resemblance in the shape. Its a shame that they never dare to produce a better piece, because this cockpit shape is so prominent in SW.
