  1. Hi, I just checked, I have all the parts :) Finally something to do on the weekend :) Thanks, Noam
  2. Hi, Someone (he didn't post directly so I won't say his name) mentioned that I should check out Basebrick, after 10min of going through the interface, i must say it great! Exactly all that I lacked in Peeron! Thanks!
  3. Very nice :) I love the compactness and the yellow theme Thanks for the LXF
  4. I wish LEGO would make an official set with these wheels - it could be great
  5. I will try BrickStore, though it looks no longer maintained... last release dated from 2009. We are almost at 2011...
  6. Hi, I noticed that most sets built by non-LEGO appear to have the engines in the middle area of the undercarriage, while LEGO appears to place them in the back, is there a particular reason for that? Is there a technical requirement somewhere that non-LEGO/LEGO appear to be following? Thanks, Noam
  7. How do u tell bricklink which sets u own?
  8. Hi, Anyone with an idea why this set is missing from Peeron? Any peeron alternative for part list? Thanks, Noam
  9. We have been waiting since August :)
  10. Hi, Mindstorms unlike "regular" technic, requires a bit of love to computers and programming. As you can make technic "things" that do stuff, beside moving "them from one place to another". So the funability for this set is higher than others, however, the set itself requires you to do thinking, or use online resources, as it is building blocks that require thinking and design to connect. I personally use the set with the FLL (First Lego League) I intend to help out with, so my set has a "goal" and it makes owning one, worth while and with an objective. So think of it as a "starter kit" that will need your thinking and resourcefulness to make it great. Thanks, Noam
  11. Thank you for the review, it really makes me want to wait on buying this set .. as other sets appear to have better reviews, especially in the playability part - which I feel is important :) I am not buying sculptures here :D
  12. Hi, I went there today, one word, wow :) Since this is my first LEGO convention, I have nothing to compare, but still I had been to toy fairs, and this one doesn't fall below any of them. I really liked the Technic and Mindstorms sections, especially how nice the people in the Mindstorms sections were, they were willing to explain, give you a try provide some details on the items being displayed Wow I really enjoyed it. I wish I could have brought my son, some sections like the Duplo and LEGO creations where really suited for youngsters to start taking blocks and building. I hope the organizers start to note that non-NL guys go there as well, I spotted quite a few families from the UK (based on their cars) and based on the language they spoke :) - and they were baffled by some of the signs as much as I was :D Hope it will improve next year. Thanks, Noam
  13. Hi, Yes I just noted that there was another store a few meters from there that had the same "sticker" which I can't read :) which is probably what you said, get 10% for the most expensive LEGO set :) In anyway, even the base price is good :D Thanks, Noam
  14. Hi, If anyone is at Zwolle (Holland) for the Legoworld 2010, a store in the city called Intertoys has the 8043 set at a 129.99 euro, and additional 10% discount for the legoworld fair week, bringing the price to a: 116.99 euro instead of the LEGO official price of 159.99 euro. The guy promised me it is the set that is post-service pack and that it came in on Friday (yesterday). Pretty cheap :) They also sell the 8258 at 129.99 euro, but there is no 10% discount on it, couldn't figure out why :) I don't speak dutch that well :D Hope this helps someone Thanks, Noam
  15. Hi, I will be there Sunday 24th, hope to get to see some of you guys. Thanks, Noam
  16. Hi, Has anyone visited the convention? Anything worth noting when going there? Thanks, Noam
  17. Hi, First, amazing! the detail is truely done in expertise and care. In real life the Lowloader is re-enforced to make sure it doesn't bend as can be seen in the picture, the bending in LEGO might not do much, but in real life, such bending would mean stress on the metal and eventual break of the metal bars. In LEGO life it would mean that the forward and backward wheels will not be at full contact with the ground, causing reduced steering capabilities. I would suggest re-enforcing the lowloader, by adding two wheels just a few cm after the truck's last wheels (just after the connector) - so that it sits/connects OVER the wheels, rather after, this will reduce the stress on the bars of the lowloader, and put some/most of the weight on the wheels (see my picture #2) Like this: And this:
  18. Yes it cuts grass :) See here:
  19. I agree, my kid likes cranes, trucks, extractors, etc and he is 3 years old Last year, when he was 2, he liked cars mainly I believe LEGO is "repeating" the items, as they note that people (parents) buy in cycles, and usually buy things for their kids, trying to aim at buying something different (type of "machine") each year.
  20. Really cool tank Thanks, Noam
  21. It mentions 22,000 bricks in the article :)
  22. Hi, This MOC is HUGE! Lets put it on cuusoo :) Largest Lego Ship Ever Built Is Bigger Than Three Queen-Sized Beds Apparently it was part of an exhibition on http://www.greatwesternlegoshow.com/2010/blogs/20100916/eds-latest-monster-looking-ship-shape
  23. Hi, If you have a lawyer (friend) he can contact them via real mail/fax, that gets their attention at least - a response and the process going. Not necessarily will get it off their site. I believe it is hard hard to prove copyright on instructions, as you are essentially already "violating" LEGO's copyright by using their bricks without a written authorization. Thanks, Noam
  24. Nice MOC It is funny that the LEGO man has glasses and looks "old" driving that dragster :D
