  1. Hi, Finally my package has arrived :) I got all the parts to build 4 wheels.. A few questions: 1) The angle of the wheel, you can put it at a 45 degrees or 30 degrees, depending on how you build it - is there any significance to the degrees? 2) When you use it in a car, is there any significance to how you put them? i.e. when you build it you can build one set that has a 45 degree angle to the right, and the other that will have the opposite angle, is it important which angle to the main axle each wheel has?   2. Hi, I made a "drawing" of my solution, I don't have 4 light sensors to test this out... Hope this gets you on your way.
  3. I am answering from memory, I don't have the program at hand... You can't compare 4, but you can compare pairs... Compare 2 pairs (near each other, so S E, N W or something), make it spit out the bigger one. Then compare the end results of the two sets. The result is the biggest value. Now compare again the biggest value with each set from S N E W you have, when it EQUALS, this is where you need to rotate to. You can further "improve it" so that if two are equal you drive 45 degrees in that direction (in the "middle"). Is this clearer? Thanks, Noam
  4. Hi, The solution is quite "easy". You need to point the sensors in 90 degree angles from each other, so that one points South, North, West and East. Measure the light intensity from each by putting a block that feeds a Logical comparison, and finds the highest value. You will need to compare two pairs, and then the "winner" between them. Once you know which one "has the highest value" you need to rotate to that direction, either you rotate, 90 degrees left, 90 degrees right, or 180 degrees (left or right). Then do another measurement and continue. If the comparison found the values to be equal, you need to rotate 45 degrees in that direction And so forth, finally it will be in the direction of the light source and will arrive at your destination Good luck Thanks, Noam

I am a proud owner of Control Center I with Box :) I actually got this as a present for my 13th birthday, and left it at the attic at the age of 15 :) And recovered it after 17 years ... if you can do the math :D Anyway, what I am most pissed about is that I left the batteries inside :( so you and understand the mess, but beside that it is in good shape...   9. Hi, I really like this model, I have to disagree, it is not boring at all. It is a very interesting model for something without any PFs in it. It has a lot of moving parts, and if you are giving this as a gift, it will give the boy (girl?) a lot to play with and imagine. Unlike when PF are involved, the remote control appears to take their fun out of it, and makes it into a VideoGame where they easily get bored and move to play with the computer - as the game offer much more "excitement". Finally, this model, as it has no PF, can be easily and safely played outside by youngsters without fear of getting it dirty and unuseable because of that. Thanks, Noam

  12. Hi, Instead of winzip which is commercial you could use 7zip which is opensource and free not forgetting that 7zip is also cross-platform and works on Windows, Linux and Mac. Thanks, Noam

Hi, I am trying to figure out what is the "quickest" way to take an existing LXF, convert it to a Part List, which I can then feed to X (don't know what), I assumed Peeron/Basebrick/etc, which will tell me which parts I have and which I lack in a semi-automatic/automatic manner.   21. Hi, My son has this RC car which a very simple car. To avoid making it "complex" by going it forward steering, the car steers by going in reverse (turns right around its center axle). Has anyone done this in a Technic Model? I think it would be useful for those cases when you have just one remote/one motor, or you are just looking into using that RC channel for something else.   24. Hi, I remember seeing in the past a bike that had two extra "wheels" on both sides, that would go down as the bike slows down and up as the bike sped up. The idea was that the faster the bike goes, less balance is needed, while when it stops extra support is needed. Maybe this would be a solution worth looking into? Thanks, Noam
  25. Hi, As a mentor in FLL, we use the latest NXT, further, this year they introduced a new sensor (color sensor) which wasn't allowed before. Where did you get your information that they use NXT 1.0? The rules state that you can use RCX or NXT, but doesn't state the version, so you can use whichever version you want as long as it is not "hacked" (i.e. custom firmware) Thanks, Noam
