[MOC] Project Transformers Breastforce /Liokaiser
alanyuppie replied to alanyuppie's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Hellbat is a member of Breastforce team from Japanese Transformers Victory series. He transform into a Dassault Rafale fighter jet and become the right arm of super robot Liokaiser. Minion Komoribreast is a bat like creature that become Hellbat's weapon. It can piggyback him in fighter jet mode. Transformation: Robot mode Wielding Komoribreast weapon. I didn't design gun barrels for this little guy coz the bat wings looks formidable enough to emit energy based projectiles to stun the enemies. Komoribreast hibernating on Hellbat's chest Liokaiser Arm mode As you can see, I integrated Komoribreast to bulk up the hollowed arm. The external Liokaiser hand is pegged between Hellbat's legs. For more photos, do check out my blog link below: Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Hellbat from Breastforce team Part 2 of 2: Robot Mode and more! And the link below is the official page for my project LEGO Liokaiser that might direct you to my previous 3 reveals: Killbison,Guyhawk and Drillhorn. I think this is ingenious because its much easier to follow the work in progress . If one were to built wrongly, backtracking /dismantling to spot the error, and rebuilding won't be troublesome. Imagine undoing your mistakes to find the partially built chunk is similarly color toned.

thanks! I might upscale this MOC soon and make a triple changer out of it (read: extra robot mode) . I have made my return to LEGO Ideas (I requested the mod there to reboot my account/start on a clean slate 2 years ago). Click below to support my Ideas and put this creation on the shelves. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/141705

It's minutes to midnite in where I'm staying now and I've just uploaded a youtube video of this MOC showing how it transforms . Enjoy!

I prototyped this MOC in mostly light and stone grey and the falcon mode looked pretty bland especially the tail. Then I did some googling to find alternative color scheme for MF. Seems like a blue accented MF did exist in SW universe (aka UCS stellar envoy). I decided to apply a bit of white due to lack of blue slopes to complete 3 units of this MOC for my diorama /competition entry. So there =) I built the tail and talons last, and it's just a stroke of luck these talons managed to be crammed underneath with minimal folding. Initially I attempted to place these claws on top behind MF but the exposed yellow bits bothered me , not to mention the extra complexity to unfold the falcon tail. If you mean transformers based on SW vehicles, I think I might just would. This seems to be a formidable challenge for me to end this year =) And about this MF, I've chosen this scale (fits on my palm) , so that I can place a few of them in a diorama within a 48 x 48 studs baseplate. I think I might build another one with bigger scale and this time its gonna be a triple changer (falcon and robott mode).

Few weeks ago I put a halt to my LEGO Transformers Breastforce /Liokaiser reveals just to build this guy. He's meant for LEGOLAND Malaysia Star Wars competition which ended last weekend. I didn't win though (I sucks in building diorama and have poor knowledge in SW universe ). Anyway, say hie to Millenium Falcon Falcon fellas: Below is a youtube video on how it transforms: I've posted this creation/idea to LEGO Ideas website in hope to garner 10,000 votes for LEGO to consider producing this as an official set. Please support and give me a push ! Thanks!! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/141705

[MOC] Project Transformers Breastforce /Liokaiser
alanyuppie replied to alanyuppie's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Drillhorn transform into a drill and and form the right leg of Liokaiser. He comes with his minion Hornbreast, a robotic Rhino transforming into his weapon as well. Trivia >> The orange-yellow windshield was meant to be a placeholder piece as I initially planned to find a translucent part for this creation. But it looked darn good matching with the blue color scheme of this creation,so I decided to keep it that way. >> Initially I plan to "remold" this creation to build KillBison (which I revealed 4 weeks ago) too but changed my mind since both their vehicle modes are shaped differently (Drillhorn looks more chubby compared to Killbison, a Gepard tank.) >> The robot head was build to fit in the tiny space in the cockpit/windshield but it's flat (and doesn't reflect Drillhorn's character at all!). So I rebuilt the cockpit to accomodate a bigger head (now redesigned with horns on top). Drillhorn transforms without removing parts and here's how its done! Robot Mode Integration with Hornbreast Click on my blog link to view more photos of this guy: Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Drillhorn from Breastforce team Part 2 of 2: Robot mode You might be interested in my LEGO Killbison and Guyhawk which I revealed here few weeks back :) http://alanyuppie.bl...eam-part_3.html http://alanyuppie.bl...ce-team_19.html Thanks for the support guys! 3 more reveals to go before you'll get to see my LEGO Liokaiser in his full glory!!- 16 replies

The cross section photos are very inspiring and I love the hand mechanism so much !! I noticed the knee joint is powered by a pair frictional hinge plates . Its incredible how they can bear the weight of this huge MOC

Any colour blind LEGO fans on here?
alanyuppie replied to Boettner Builds's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think contrast sensitivity is reduced as we age. That's why dark toned parts is exceptionally hard to differentiate. In my tray of selected black lego parts (mostly generic bricks and plates), its virtually a chore to locate specific part I need. I usually sprinkle /mix a bunch of lighter colored parts in that tray to assist me . -
[MOC] Project Transformers Breastforce /Liokaiser
alanyuppie replied to alanyuppie's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well , here comes Guyhawk (translated from Gaihawk) !! INTRODUCTION Guyhawk is the member of Breastforce team that transforms into an MIG jet plane and left arm of Liokaiser. From a team of 6 breastforces, Guyhawk is the first to be built back in Dec last year. He comes with Hawkbreast, his Breastforce companion. Trivia - The most demanding parts come literally from the front-end (read; the front and the back of the jet mode) Front challenge: The cockpit and nosecone were meant to fold to the back in robot mode, it resulted in huge long kibble pointing downwards when my hinged mechanism only managed about a 130 degree range (the G1 toy version of Guyhawk's cockpit/nosecone folded to almost 180 degree) . I decided to apply another hinge on the nosecone so it can point upwards in robot mode to "synch" with both wingtips. Back challenge: The 2 tailfins/stabilizers at the backside must be folded away when Guyhawk in Combiner arm mode . This can be easily be designed if not the the extra 2 stabilizers on top of the plane's rear ,complicating my efforts. Another back challenge which I decided to accept is the implement the fighter jet engine. The existence of 4 stabilizers at the back leave no more room for another hinged mechanism for jet engine on top, so I have to go "under" and have these jet engines to be folded up the robot's rear (aka bongo drums kibble). What could've been I attempted to distribute the mass of the stabilizers to the butt of the robot too initially but they turned into horrible buttflaps , so I undo this design. Near misses Just like most of my published LEGO TF, Murphy's law always strike halfway through the photoshoot! I've forgotten to design hawkbreast to be held by the robot's arm (which are almost studless) ! Luckily after a while I managed to connect them still via the hawk's claw clipped onto the hand. Pleasant suprise The idea of perching hawkbreast on the robot shoulder came during photoshoot, and I didn't design the bot earlier to cater for that at all. Luckily the hawk's c-clip claw found a place on the bot to clip on sturdily! Transform! Do check out my blog entries for more photos of this guy: Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Guyhawk from Breastforce team Part 1 of 2: Fighter Jet mode and transformation Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Guyhawk from Breastforce team Part 2 of 2: Robot mode- 16 replies

[MOC] Project Transformers Breastforce /Liokaiser
alanyuppie replied to alanyuppie's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
When I build LEGO TF.. I usually build the head last .. and most of the time I am forced to redesign the MOC to provide clearance for the head in vehicle mode. This guy is one rare exception though . I have considered buildint a more detailed head but feared it will be partially jutting out from the tank's rear. btw folks.. videos are out ! Breastforce is a team of 6 Transformers from Japanese Transformers: Victory Series, with the ability to merge into a super robot named Liokaiser. Each member has a minion of sorts that can be deployed from their chest. These robotic beast minions can become hand held weapons to their respective masters too. Team members: - Leozack transform into Tomcat fighter jet, partnered with Lionbreast. - Guyhawk, an MiG fighter jet, partnered with Hawkbreast. - Hellbat, a Dassault Rafale fighter jet, partnered with Komoribreast. - Drillhorn, the drill tank , partnered with Hornbreast. - Jallguar, the Baja buggy, partnered with Jaguarbreast. - Killbison, the Gepard anti-aircraft tank, partnered with Bisonbreast. I actually spent weeks in deep thoughts on how to make this work (how each limb combine with each other sturdily with articulations to boot) before I started this project last Dec. The efforts were incredibly tedious (especially Jallguar and Leozack) yet rewarding. I shall use this thread to update more reveals in the coming weeks, and of course... the combined mode. I'm almost done with all of them (99%) except the combiner head. This one needs delicate treatment and I'm taking my own sweet time here. KILLBISON In my quest to fulfil last year's vow of building a Transformers combiner , Killbison is actually the last MOC I started work on (from the team of 6 breastforce members). This is because I have difficulty finding the needed brown parts , Just like his original toy, Killbison transforms into a Gepard Tank (below) with 2 turrets. But the original toy has 4 tank treads instead of 2 like in many typical real world tanks. I choose to follow the latter. Trivia > Initially this MOC was suposed to be a "remold" of Drillhorn I started much earlier, but Drillhorn's drill tank mode is chunky looking. I decided to build Killbison from scratch using a new transformation method. > When I started building this guy about 2 months ago, I used many black parts as a placeholder. In the quest to procure more brown parts quickly (this means not from ordering online), My routine scout in a mall yielded me Mixadel (A Mixel set) . This set has 4x c-clips I needed to complete this MOC. What a stroke of luck! > Some sacrifices were made for the robot mode aesthetics to ensure Killbison form a sturdy looking combiner leg. (one example is the robot arms with bland design facing outwards) For more photos of his "killer" antics and poses (and my "killer" writeups on how he came to being), do pay a visit to blog below! alanyuppie.blogspot.com/2016/03/lego-killbison-from-breastforce-team_19.html TRANSFORMATION Like most of my TransforMOCs from recent years, transformation from vehicle to robot mode doesn't require taking off parts.

Oh boy I'm glad I finally put a closure to this. As this MOC (and his accompanying subMOCs minions , Sixgun ,Scamper and Slammer) took me bout 3 months to complete. My Metroplex is an fairly articulated transformer ,turning into a mobile battle station and a base. MOBILE BATTLE STATION 8 wheels is not enough . I have to implement 2 more hidden wheels at the center of the vehicle for me to roll it back and forth without scraping the surface. One notable transformation step is 2 of the back wheels detaches and folded up to for the back mounted cannons in robot mode. ROBOT MODE BASE MODE The above shows how the chest unfolds to form the helipad, and the right arm is shifted to the back to form the tower. sixguns various components /guns can be connected to the base mode to weaponize it. For complete set of photos and also transformation steps , do check out my blog link below. thanks =) http://alanyuppie.blogspot.com/2015/08/lego-metroplex-part-1-of-3-mobile.html

what would it take to cut out LEGO from your life?

.... just amputate my hands (but I think I might return with a vengeance and learn to use my feet to continue MOCing in 3 years time). -
What should or should not be on Lego Ideas?
alanyuppie replied to Wodanis's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That severely restrict me and I have come to terms bout that for a while now (let's just say I have willingly SUBMIT to whatever rules LEGO Ideas are imposing). I might just need to re-brand my works into [enter generic MOC name here] and perhaps rebuild them into some of different color schemes. What suprises me though there are still some LEGO Optimii Prime approved by them to be voted. -
Sixgun was meant to be a complementary project for my upcoming LEGO Metroplex. But I kinda got carried away and spend almost a month just to focus on him. He is designed to be able to interface with Metroplex and his various modes. Initially I planned to release Metroplex with Sixguns (and other minions) in one shot, but I think Sixgun deserves a spot on his own here. I'm excited to complete my Metroplex this weekend .. so I won't be babbling many stuff here.. hope you guys enjoyed the photos....! 2 of the guns are modelled by my LEGO Blurr with modified hands (to peg properly to these guns) The red guns/legs took most of my design time. Hours before I finalize this guy for photoshoot... I redesigned these guns from scratch after a short relevation in the bathroom before (A better technique /implementation for the knee joint). These guns were made bulkier since they become the robot's legs. ROBOT MODE JET MODE Yes.... ! I love to improvise and see what extra things I can implement into my LEGO creations. It took me a while to make sure all the 6 weapons connected firmly in this jet mode, by retooling them. I have uploaded some photos in my blog entry below ,and show how these weapons combine as well: Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Sixgun , minion of Metroplex Part 1 of 2: Weapons mode Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Sixgun , minion of Metroplex Part 2 of 2: Combined modes Ok. .I'm off to complete my LEGO Metroplex hopefully by this weekend!

Moc builders vs Collectors, Lego civil war!
alanyuppie replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was thinking of a collector that wanted nothing but precision , this means every single part must be in its place as suggested by the official model/box art. "Fooling around" by improving it slightly (eg. placing the antenna elsewhere) is deemed as blasphemous/unnecessary and NOT recommended as whatever finalised by LEGO in their set is the best version there is. -
L shaped plates except the 2x2 one.
-
i'm in a dilemma when I decided to tuck in "other" colored parts inside my MOCs because I fear I might have future uses for them . I usually sneak in ageing parts for this purpose (especially discolored white parts).

Your opinions in design tendencies of late
alanyuppie replied to Xfing's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I love these new designs as well, it does break the mundaness on stacking one part on top of another. But my pet peeve is... the number of technic pins contributes to the final parts count ... and I have tons of such pins to begin with. -
It looks very sleek indeed. I'm impressed overall.
