  1. Before I left for work in the morning, I took a look of my work-in-progress MOC and decided the rotation mechanism in the fire truck ladder should be improved with a frictioned turnable piece rather than technic pins. Will get it done tonight =)
  2. I devastate my living room with selected trays of LEGO parts and build while watching the TV / listening to the radio. When all is done, I put the trays back into my storeroom . The (ikea) tables are el-cheapo so I dont mind getting them scratched. Just like having my meals, I cannot indulge in LEGO building in absolute silence or in a cramped condition, hence the living room is chosen.
  3. Same here! And the visualising part is harder as my MOC transforms, as long as I failed to visualise the core transformation to be viable... I wont be touching my bricks to kick off on MOCing any Transformers. LUckily my brain is running wild all the time , even minutes before I dozed off.
  4. Thanks for the "frame" of reference. I don have an exo-suit set .However.. I do have most of the parts . hehehe... I'm looking forward to the wackiness of the contest submissions
  5. Sorting by color is counterproductive with black or dark toned parts. I've had hard times finding my required part in a shallow pile of black parts due to the poor contrast . I usually sprinkle a few % of light colored parts in my pile-of-blacks to my life easier :)
  6. For me Its those pairs of symmetrical 2x3 wedge plates . I was organising my wedge plates yesterday to ensure most of them are paired up nicely, and I found out its these 2x3 wedge plates that are severely lacking. Since I MOC mostly LEGO Transformers , these plates appear everywhere (torsos, limbs, tailfins, chests and even as robot faceplates ). Sadly the procurement of such parts from bricklink is tricky. many sellers offered a piece in one side ,and without the opposing ones in my preferred color. *duh*
  7. Yes. Always. I deliberately plan it in such a way that during my downtime (no work-in-progress MOC,and not inspired to start any) , I have sets on a weekly basis to keep me occupied, unless its a tiny set.. or a Creator set.. which I hastity build , then move on the other 2 alternate models in matter of days. And of course... when something spark me up for a new MOC... I'm occupied for weeks on end, further adding to the backlog.
