Youll notice the simpsons family included in the house are mostly SPECIAL OUTFITS, I assume the CMF line will include the "vanilla" simpsons family (no aprons, ties, lazy eyes etc.) Thats proapbly wehre you'll see Lisa with her Saxophone aswell! If the currently planned simpsons lego products sells well, lego is prepared to release more sets and or another series of cmf's

The catalogue specifically says the hobbit taba, acording to people who claim to have seen it.

Thign about action figure lisences, alot of times they work in scales and sizes, someone might buy the lisence to make 1/6 scale, wile other might have it for 6 inches etc. Neca i think only got the lisence to make 1 figure, and by got i eman thats all they wanted.
-
I'm thinking we wont get mini leg printing. simpsons is mainly a cmf run, wich emans they make their figures in china, and cmf gets more printed details than normal themes does. also the chinese minifigures are of a worse quality.

That designer video was way too brief. but hosue loos good

Legos kigdom and castle themes, will always be going on and off, its not like they are lost forever, like LOTR will be once it's done.
-
Not at all a waste, they have served their purpose. They might as well reuse whatever other hair molds they have for other characthers, its not like they lose money from not using them. besides. Thorins hair has already got alot of use, and can be used in generic lego themes aswell. Dwalins beard wll åroapbly be used on the dwarf soldiers aswella s it can be used in generic themes. the rest however, not so much, but we'll see ore dwarfes in BO5A sets propably.

sure but thats all stuff that would make for bade disconnected sets. And the whole smaug sequence is just fluff.
-
Not in a lego context. Most of the action happens elsewhere.
-
Lego doesn't build them in the real scale, he jsut the needs to be big, he'll proapbly be molded in the size of the new t-rex
-
Smaug does not have to be a big set at all. And Erebor. not really that important..

They want you to care about what is available in stores right this moment, so that you will go out and spend money on that insetad of saving your money for soemthing better in the future, so when that SECRET better thing shows up in the future you will have to buy that aswell, and they will have gotten your money twize!

Yeah thats not at all likely. Lego ends themes all the time, and its got nothing to do with the creative people/designers. soemtiems it just makes sense with Lego's overall strategy

Middle-Earth Madness - Rohan Battle Pack vs Mount Doom [Week 3]
deskp replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Here is a SKETCH of what I think a Mount Doom set could be like. the 2 walkway/pillar seqments collapse when you pull out the technic pole thing. I imagine it could come with Isildur, Sauron, Sam, Frodo and Gollum. And be in the price range of weathertop. Gif of the more finished model: -
Thats the fun about it though. We could just sit around waiting for information. but it's more fun to speculate/hope etc.

Mount doom! -
The simpsons theme, isnt really a theme, its a series of collectable minifigs and one set, they made the most iconic location from the show as well as they could, the theme is fairly aimed at older than kids people so an expenaive set isnt really a problem, also seeeing as it's their only set so far people who care enough will buy it. Simpsons is a special case for lego,

2015 is a big year for super heroes and star wars, but there doesen't seem to be any new big movie to lisence, perhaps they would have the last lotr wave summer of 2015? "It would be totally ridiculous for it to be finished at this point. Why acquire the license in the first place if they didn't have plans to release more?" Lego use lisences for only 1 wave of sets all the time. it's not rediculous at all. They make their deals for however long they agree upon, it's not like they signed a 10 year deal with lotr. It's like renting an apartment, not buying a house.
-
Yeah, no gondorians is like star wars without stormtroopers. Lego is leaving lotr behind with a massive gondorian sized hole. Gondor and Lorien will be the only 2 visited cultures lego will leave out it seems. Once we hopefully get a Galadriel from the hobbit Lorien will be covered, and Gondor will be the one culture overlooked by lego. we do ofcourse have aragorrn in his gondorian variant, but hes a miserable representantion for gondor. If there is no more lotr, then the 2. wave we got truly was a bit of a travesty. Lego if you are listning, give us atleast one more set with these characthers. It can be done with a Osgiliath/pelennor fields battle set.

And wich dates/month does it have them for? only 4 sets.. i find that to not sound great for the crowning wave of the middle earth theme.

Bart and Lisa seems to suffer from the lazy eye prints more than the adults.
-
I guess it looks alot better when u see it fully opened, because the box art on the front looks very plan and not wrth 2500 pieces. It would have been better looking if they didnt make the plants all "2d" and the garage looks too tall.

Mt doom seems like nothing but play features to me, that makes sense to sets where its not just a grey drab vulcano. (like sands of time or that indiana jones set)

Philippa Boyes said he's in the EE

Interesting. I'm pretty sure i've heard one of the top guys at lego have said that POTC did well in the past aswell. And of course we know they made the corsair ship cause of how well ships sell (designer said so in his video) PoP not doing well isn't suprising, a lsience vvery few care about, and it didn't fit into an excisiting theme (like lone ranger did). I am still weary not to get my hopes up for more lotr just yet though, Either way that lego movie is getting all the attention makes sense, kids will love buying EXACTLY what they saw in the movie I'm sure. But it sure is weird seeing all those packaged sets that looks like jumbeled together sets made by a 12 year old.. but i get it.
