Because thats waht lego does, Thranduil in that set, palpatine in that set and queen Amidala in that set. Its a way to make minifigures people want.

I really hope it will look better when we see the whole real thing 360 degrees in physical form(not morphed cg) His printing looks unimpressive though, they really should have given him more tan/orangey, seeing as his whole underside should be that color..

Thats just the gimli helmet in grey. Besides those are Erebor soldiers, not ironhills. And yeah thats Dwalin.

Oh, I hadnt noticed that, but something seemed off. they do indeed look alot better in red. All the black gets a bit harsh. Here is a better pic of his jaw.

well thats jsut cg weirderly, youc can see the entire wing part looks different on the other side. It might even be that the wings connect to those ltitle balls, by some technictype cross pole thing molded into the wing.

The game demo shows more of lego smaug, So if thats the smaug we get thats 10 new molds for one figure. So if you're wondering why the piece count is so low with the price so high, thats propably why. They always show the most complete looking set. that said there does not have to be a pattern. theres a mix of what people want to see, what doesent spoil things etc. I think theres a decent chanse they will show off the samug set.

The order of how things were made. the maganize booklet thing was the same one made for london that was given at NY toy fair. changing the text on one sign is easier than changing the book thing.

They simply said the wrong peice count. it was not changed.

considering pieces / prices, dragons usualy cost like 20£ alone 600 piece set might ccost 80£ if it contains a dragon for example. smaug seems to have new modsl for everything and is lsienced so i'd add that to the reason.

Only 4 sets remaining is natural, lego does not keep producing old sets even for current themes.

I dont see a problem with it, there are ALOT of diferent covers for these movies. And why shouldnt they be in the movie? If they sold the hobbit book with those on the cover there would be a problem.
