It was originally only available at Asda, but has since shown up all over the place, pretty certain my local tesco still had some in yesterday.

I saw that Bald Eagle in the trailer and instantly I thought, great, now I want LEGO to make that in real life! I'm a sucker for the moulded animal parts, whenever someone complains about an animal being moulded instead of brick built all I can think of are some of the terrible brick build animals in the past - don't get me wrong I know there are some increadibly good ones as well, but it's the bad ones that stick in my mind.

I believe that the wings are the same as the Eagles from LOTR/Hobbit but in gold and silver. I don't think they'd work on the standard mini figure horses, but there are other ways it could be done fairly easily.

This sounds great fun, got two solid ideas and a possible third...will get building and see what happens.

The problem with this for me was when we started getting characters like Lando - LEGO had always used yellow faces as an umbrella for all people to avoid race etc, when Lando appeared alongside yellow figs suddenly there was an implication that yellow figs were white - I get that a yellow land would have looked weird but it kind of highlights exactly when they needed to make the change to me, Personally I love using fleshy figs - it makes the scene look a little more real, but I'm not apposed to yellow figs in builds - the main thing is that they aren't mixed (unless it's a Lego Movie scene ;-) )

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Shib replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm not expecting Ragnarok sets, but the inclusion of Spidey into Civil War I think increases the chances of Civil War sets in my mind -
Penny has so many different hair styles over the course of the show, but the pigtails wouldn't be the best match in my opinion, I'd imagine we'll get something more like the generic female hair pieces that TLG tends to use ( http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=85974&ccName=4549990 in yellow for example) or one of the two pictured in the original submission - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/58456

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Shib replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think Flash is more because of wider acceptance of the character into pop culture. E.g multiple references on The Big Bang Theory, which has seen the popularity of the character rise even prior to the TV show. Green Arrow was released as part of the Justice League line, so it's not really a fair comparison. I'd love to see an official Daredevil minifigure, and while the Netflix show is likely to help that rather than hinder it, I'm still not going to count on it. -

It's most likely subject to annual reviews. -
I'd like to see a new hood up piece for any future Green Arrow mini figures. The current available three hood parts I can think of aren't perfect in my opinion. There's the standard hood piece, which is great for cloaks, but not great for just hooded tops, the Wintery fuzzy hood (ala Captain Cold) which again is fine for winter/fur lined but not much else and the wild style hood. which is close but has that bit to have her hair highlights printed onto which makes it off for any others. However, I'm happy enough to just have a Variety of Heroes widely available so future variants are minor concern for me. What I'd really like to see is a move to include more characters first. I don't think we'll see anything directly based on Arrow or Flash, what's more likely are sets done in the same way as last years X-men sets, clearly referencing Days of Future past but without doing it in that style. To that end we might get a Flash mini figure done in a dark red to look like the TV show suit taking on Reverse Flash or a Green Arrow/Arsenal vs Deathstroke with the mini figures done to look like Ollie, Roy and Slade from the show.

What Marvel/DC Characters Will NEVER Get Minifigures?
Shib replied to Suspsy's topic in LEGO Licensed
Unusual variants of a popular character I think have a shot as SDCC type minifigures - especially as TLG seem to be moving more that way with the Superheroes themes. I think a lot of the cheesey villains that haven't ever made an edgey reboot are unlikely...as much as I'd love to have one in my collection I think an Egghead mini figure is fairly unlikely! -
HAHAHA, took me far too long to get that - updated my Mac yesterday and the auto correct had gone batcrap crazy - even changes my username to Sib. In fairness having played Lego Batman 3 a fair bit now I wouldn't mind Lego going through the DC Film and TV back catalogue a bit for inspiration.

While I'd have preferred proper moulded plastic wings, I'm just so stoked about getting an official Hawkman minifigure that I'm happy enough.

This is very much a mixed bag for me. I'm definitely getting the Hulkbuster set, it was pretty much a given for me, but now with an image and a rough guide for the price it works nicely on my normal price justification calculator. Its nice to see a couple of sets getting Hulk with a full redesign from the last wave. One of the biggest disappointments for me (that I suspect most people don't give two hoots about) is that they've stuck Black Widow piloting the quinjent with Cap on the motor bike, while in the trailer it was BW on the bike. While I assume they've done this to save on having a generic pilot minifigure at the minute the whole Lego Superheroes line (Marvel worse than DC with the upcoming sets) smacks of casual sexism and putting BW in the lesser role just perpetuates that. At least the next DC set with Wonder Woman doesn't have her unnecessarily in the damsel in distress role, but TLG seriously need to look at how they are using the female minifigures in this line, the whole nerd subculture seems to be becoming more aware of the sexist nature it's carried in the past and TLG need to be careful they aren't perpetuating old stereotypes that put people off. I am prepared to be proven wrong and see in the film that both BW and Cap drop out on Motor Bikes with BW going second to activate an auto-pilot but otherwise I see no reason for having Cap on the bike and not having an additional pilot figure. -
If they were to make a new mould for the cowl i would doubt it being a full SDCC exclusive, doesn't make sense for TLG to go to that expense just for a freebie. So look on the bright side if we do get a SDCC exclusive that has a shorter eared cowl its a good sign we'd probably se a different version in a set at some point.

I don't get why people are getting so bent out of shape over this. lego havent put out any adverts for the Frozen sets, its typical for them to bring out new sets in January, not December.mi get that its nice to be able to give good gifts but its the same as me getting annoyed at Marvel because i want to see Age of Ultron now. There's no reason to get bent out of shape about it. The set will likely be available for over a year so just get it for a birthday/good behaviour/next christmas/random Wednesday surprise pressent instead.

Replace the Blues with reds and it could be a Batman Beyond style creation.

^Fair point, but the Mark Hamill appearance is already getting spread around a lot of news sources meaning more than just the fans of the show are hearing about it. Either the Trickster or Reverse Flash could be done without new moulds, just new colours so both just as likely, but completely agree, and appearance of either is massively unlikely to be as a result of the show.
-
Apparently there's a storyline focusing on Trickster in the works which will feature Mark Hamill as an older/retired version of the Trickster - if there will be any set with a loose tie to the series I think that episode will trigger it.
-
I think it could be in preparation for BvS - it seems that Afflecks Batsuit will have stubbier ears, but of course I'm completely speculating. I'd love a few variations on the piece, make the army of Batman mini figures a bit more interesting!

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

^Very well put Faefrost. For people who don't get why Marvel is annoyed with Sony over Fantastic Four it's worth remembering that the film is being hurried through so that the rights don't revert back to Marvel (as has happened with Daredevil) and this is not the first time it's happened for the Fantastic Four franchise. Fans of the TV show Arrested Development will be familiar with the idea of a terrible b-moive Fantastic Four film that was made to keep the rights - this was based on an actual event that happened. Licensing rights are massively complex and can often be the reason we don't see Lego produce the things we want - e.g it might be the reason for no Superhero theme CMF lines. -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

I think what you are pointing out is more about Lego having a contract with DC waaaayyy before they had one with Marvel. As for the movie appearance that is because the movie was made by Warner Brothers who also have the rights to DC characters so it was like a 2 for 1 for them! -
I can see them including the set in an episode but just as set dressing without acknowledging what it is.
-
Except that themes like Ultra Agents have featured characters who aren't the standard minifigure yellow, so it could be in other unlicensed sets. The point still stands it's a generic hair piece that could be in such a wide scope of themes that it's hardly worth assuming any specific characters for.
-
Yup, think it's going to be a useful approach with what's coming up. Of the stuff we know about the upcoming films the only thing I'm really hoping is that we might see a minifigure of the Carrie Kelley Robin, but even that I'm not hold out that much on. I think we are likely to see one or two DoJ sets (seeing as we got a couple of Dark Knight Trilogy sets and a few MoS) but Suicide Squad I think has got to be too adult to allow for a sub theme of sets. At best we might get some of the characters. As always though what TLG do compared to what the source material is can always be a little unusual to the end consumer.
