  1. I love that they copied and pasted without spell checking and kept obvious typos!
  2. Considering Jestro (a main character) didn't get a new hat mould I wouldn't have thought they'd bother for a minor character than only has a small chance of appearing in a future set anyway (unless it's a part planned for a future CMF)
  3. While it could be done like that it would look rubbish - The arms would be asymmetric and the base/legs wouldn't look like the character. A new mould with the slit could easily be done in a way to accommodate a stud fitting in the way many of the animal moulds are done. I stand by the comment that IF they do it it'll be new moulds specifically for it.
  4. Considering the broom is kind of a character in their own right I would expect them to be a completely new mould if they were to put it in, it would need the arms as well as the split head to make legs...If they were to include a fantasia Mickey I think it would more likely be in a second/third series and a standard broom (pre enchantment) would be the more likely accessory - or a book. *Edit - since the broom doesn't fit a normal minifigure standard I don't actually think they'll make it, although a stick with two arms could be an amazingly useful part so would be amazing if they do.
  5. Ah, yes that was the part I was thinking of, they do look similar until you compare them then it's an obviously different part. (for anyone that's interested https://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=x246&idColor=3#T=C&C=3 ) Looks like it was first done for fabuland, so was a bit on the oversized side for standard minifigures so hopefully the new one will be better scaled.
  6. Isn't that net an old fabuland piece? I know ive seen it in yellow before
  7. Ahhh, a LEGO skunk...AMAZING! Also I can't see that mop head being used for Fantasia, it doesn't have the leg like split. If we were to get a fantasia Mickey I'd expect him in a second or third wave of Disney CMFs
  8. Having just seen the images I am pretty disappointed...I was hoping for Superhero themed Microfighters, these look crap. If the minifigures are on short legs they aren't even good as a source of (good) cheap minifigures - only cheap minifigure parts. there are a few interesting looking potential new colours on parts, but the builds look awful. I really don't get what the thinking behind these was, unless they are meant as an offshoot of the Juniors range.
  9. I'd imagine them more like the Chima ones.
  10. I actually thought it was to do with some of the hair acessories gripping better to the rubber, i know that the headphones are used with the hard platic hats, but things like the little tiaras and bows tend to be with the ruberised hair pieces these days.
  11. I never said they were, but they contained characters of mixed styles. I agree that we'll only know when we see images, but i personally see no reason for there not being a mix of moulded heads and standard heads.
  12. @MAB - I think you've missed a bigger likelihood with your argument - Consider just how many characters there are for them to choose from... take your Peter Pan and Hook example. Peter Pan being the main titular character of one of the 52 classics films has a decent chance of being made. I don't think we are likely to get pairs of figs from the same film on the first wave - maybe a group of classic mascot characters, but not the films - While Hook might look more distinctive with a moulded head, that fact could lead to him being discarded as figure rather than mixing a moulded and non moulded head for characters from the same franchise. That said, LEGO have done mixed moulded and non moulded heads for licences* before, so I see no reason for them not to do it in this CMF line. *e.g (off the top of my head) Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spongebob Squarepants, Harry Potter. The point is, they might choose to do all moulded heads, but they have little reason to, characters that have so far appeared in the Disney Princesses line could be redone as Minifies without any new mould, and frankly having moulded heads on them unnecessarily would look weird. (for full disclosure I'm pro-moulded heads for franchises like the Simpsons)
  13. @MAB - We'll have to agree to disagree, to me it's about the individual character design. Your examples don't work to me because I think the simpsons family look odd without moulded heads anyway as their features are so far removed from a real human head. I agree that when LEGO did the early squid ward in the Spongebob theme with a standard head it didn't work next to spongebob and Patrick as again none of them have human form heads. Compare it to star wars, where you'll have a Moulded head Yoda fighting a standard mini figure head Count Dooku...to my eye it looks right - So a standard head Mowgli with a moulded head Baloo would also look fine to me.
  14. Because the Monster series don't look like a whole series?
  15. If you're talking about the image with loads of columns of superhero minifigures, towards the end of the list I think it's just the Heath Ledger Tumbler Joker - worth keeping in mind that several of the pictures have figures with mixed parts so it's really not useful as an inside source for upcoming figures...they've swiped got hold of random parts that they are putting together themselves.
  16. @x105Black - I avoided any of the 2d games (inc Link Between Worlds which although 3d is in a 2d style) as I find it easier to imagine what a set would be like when based on 3d images. Also the best Zelda game is generally the first one you complete/first one you play in the sweet spot of 8-14 years old for gaming in my experience, it's why I don't bother arguing over which is the best...you might as well just ask how old someone is and what age they started gaming and you can probably guess what they'll say.
  17. I think a Mario theme could be amazing but only assuming that the Mario character rights cover a wide range of Mario games, e.g Mario Kart (I've tried a couple of the K'nex ones, they suck!) which could give vehicles, along with classic video games, thinking the flying ships that were in one of the 2D platform ones, and the classic castles from the early games. Similarly I'd love it if LEGO got the licence for Pokemon as I tried one of the Ionix sets and it was awful, but have seen some truly fantastic LEGO brickbuilt pokemon. Zelda would be a much stronger licence in my opinion, and would satisfy a lot of the Classic castle annoyance over Nexo Knights. Given how many games there are to chose from, again if the licence was wide enough you could get a great mix - e.g. Small set - Skyward Sword - Loftwing - could be similar to a Chima Legend Beast of slightly larger - Skyloft Link Minifigure Small set - Twilight Princess - Ordon Ranch (just as an excuse to have some goats in a low cost set) - you know that they would sell well, could essentially be a bit of fencing with a gate, Link & Fado minifigures, Goat and some sort of hay/feeding point. Small/Medium set - Ocarina of Time - Gerudo Bridge - small bridge across a Chasm with collapsing play feature (Similar to Ninjago Lava Falls set) and the carpenters tent, Link, Epona, Mutoh and Gerudo guard minifigures. Medium set - Majora's Mask - Romani Ranch Milk Wagon - Milk Wagon, pulled by horses, with Milk tanks on the back, Young Link, Cremia and Goman Bros (on horses) Minifigures. Medium set - Wind Waker - King of Red Lions - Boat with changeable sail/canon/grappling hook - Toon Link and Tetra minifigures Large set - Could cover several different games most likely Ocarina of Time version - Ganon showdown - Large brick built Ganon, some breakable scenery - Link and Zelda Minifigures D2C set - UCS style Hyrule Castle - Would be an amazing thing for Nintendo fans, but probably too limited appeal to sell really well - could include Hyrule Guard, Link, Zelda for any game, then depending on specifics of which game they base it on - Ocarina of time - Ganondorf, Impa Twilight Princess - Midna, Wolf Link, Zant, Twilight Beast Wind Waker - King of Red Lions in Human form, Moblin, Iron Knuckle A lot of the bosses from the series would be great as brick built creatures too, would love a Kind Dodongo or Volvagia (Dragon) with a Darunia Bigfig/minifig included. The downside to saying all this is that several Zelda projects have failed the review for Ideas/Cuusoo, so there's probably a bigger reason for that, which I really wish LEGO would have just disclosed.
  18. We normally get them in the UK via either Game or amazon - if you're in europe you can probably get them that way but it'll probably feel a premium with exchange rates.
  19. I really hope LEGO never puts out anything like that, they are awful.
  20. In case I'm one of the people you're talking about, I was offing up an explanation as to why it's not being accepted by traditional Castle theme fans rather than trying to argue about what the theme is. If LEGO list it as Castle then that's obviously what they consider it, end of - the discussion about what forum it belongs in here is a completely different beast and one I have no interest in getting involved in. I think the Cyber Castle description Nabii offered up is pretty accurate, as he said it has Knights, castles, jester, wizard etc which would typically be associated with Castle themes, but it also has laser looking weapons, high tech armour, tanks, motorbikes and robots which are firmly Sci-fi, if you get one or the other of those lists you would put the theme in one of those categories, with both lists combined most people would call it a mash up type theme or use some mixed description like Cyber Castle (I like that one enough to stick with it) Just looking at the pictures of the books again, have we seen images of the insides of them? It looks to me like they contain a 1x2 tile, which I assume would have a revenant print on the inside...I'm also looking at that and thinking, could be books with computer screens in - Inspector Gadget comes screaming to mind as I think it. I might be won over on the theme, but it looks too Ninjago for me personally - I'm sure that the target audience will go mad for it, but for me it looks like a treasure trove of parts to be farmed...the shield fronts could be very useful for a number of things (I think that a black version is to be used in the upcoming BvS Batmobile) and the main shield part will be great for space/sci-fi builds. The tiny pyramid piece obviously could be very useful across a lot of themes, but I image they are going to be in surplus very quickly - considering that small parts like that usually get a lot of spares. I won't be at all surprised if Merlock does show up as a minifigure at some point...I'm actually imagining him as something of a Wizard of Oz type character, hiding somewhere just out of sight while projecting himself as a computer system etc - but there is a lot of ways they could go with the character.
  21. A grappling gun and a gun that looks to be firing kryptonite are completely different things. I know this could just be a LEGO choice, but my comment was also based on having zero faith in snyder based on previous films...of his films that ive seen I've enjoyed none of them, with Man of Steel being the biggest train wreck of them that completely missed the mark of the characters. I am going to reserve final judgement until I see the film, but everything, this set included, just continue to lower my expectations.
  22. Ergh, why does Batman have a gun...even a Kyptonite one just doesn't fit his character, he's meant to be completely against guns. I have such low confidence in Snyder as a director that I'm now suspecting he's gone and screwed up one of Batman's defining characteristics by giving him a gun.
  23. I can completely see how from an internal developement point of view this theme might be considered a castle theme, however the vehicles featured here are much more technology looking/inspired/based than any previous themes. Consider the perspective of someone who knows nothing of the story behind Nexo Knights, what is there in those images to suggest those vehicles are magic powered? To my eye the villains vehicles look more magic based by the inclusion of magical creatures pulling them etc, but the knights look all tech - right down to the wizard being a hologram. All the elements you describe for making it castle could be applied to Star Wars - knights and wizards represented by Jedis, jesters in the comic refief characters like Jar Jar Binks, and C3P0, princesses in the way of Leia and Amidala, and many locations have a castle look, particularly tatooine and naboo. The fact that there is such a focus on technology, regardless of how it's powered, makes it science fiction. That in itself is not a bad thing, but traditional LEGO castle fans (AFOLs at least) will always be more welcoming of themes that allow them to build traditional, historical looking castle scenes - some like myself might have an interest in fantasy more than history, but still traditional fantasy works well alongside traditional Castle themes. Considering the sets shown so far as parts packs, I suspect space/sci-fi builders will see more to appeal to them than those that want to build castles. I knw from my perspective any that I buy will mostly be for parts, and the villains parts will easily serve fantasy builds, while the knights will much better serve sci-fi builds. One thing I will admit is that I completely didn't get Chima until I built Eris' Eagle interceptor (which I believe was one of Nabii's designs) at which point the whole theme fell into place, while I'm stil not a fan of tech/magic mash ups, a good bird styled jet like that could easily be used in other settings (for me it's like a fill in for either a Hawkjet for Hawkman or the Screaming Eagle V-Tol from Saints Row the Third) Based on some of the Ninjago dragons I might take more of an interest in Nexo Knights if some good dragon based sets show up, which does seem relatively likely in future if LEGO are considering this a castle theme.
  24. I get where DC are coming from with this...they are trying to attract in an audience that they have typically been lacking. I'm finding the universe it's set in kind of hard to get on board with, fortunately comic book Multiverse set up means I can completely ignore it and be fine about it. It is generic and dull to our perspective, but from a marketing point of view it does appear to be a safe choice. Basically the cartoon will mean nothing to me, and that's fine, I'm not the audience and not interested in trying to be. If we do get some DC minidoll characters I won't be too bothered, it might provide some useful headgear etc for creating minifigure versions of characters, but really I hope that LEGO continue to increase the range of minifigure characters like they have so far this year (if you had told me three years ago that in one year we would get Hawkman, Starfire, Brainiac, Black Manta, Darkseid and Gorilla Grodd I wouldn't have believed it!)
  25. Personally I imagine Mike done more like Spongebob, but a moulded body piece with Slimer like arms could work.
