  1. Man, so much speculation over a generic hair piece...it could easily be from any theme so I don't see any reason to get over excited. I really can't imagine Suicide Squad getting sets, it's possible we might get members of the Suicide Squad in sets, personally there are a few I'd love, but I wouldn't ever count on it. I know that this upcoming wave has completely broken the mould on the DC theme, but let's not expect Lego to suddenly start making every single character just yet. I prefer to take the method of expect the worst and be overjoyed with anything better. Frankly the fact that I'm going to be able to get a Hawkman minifigure is keeping me happy until this time next year!
  2. Ergh, I hope that Superboy being Target exclusive only applies to the US. They also had exclusive on a (non Lego) game I really wanted so couldn't get here in the UK, but fortunately the exclusivity was for a set time, meant I had to wait a couple of years but it's now readily available over here. I also wander if its just the pack that is the Target exclusive, e.g the figures might be available at another point in separate poly bags on S@H deals etc but because they are separate it doesn't break the exclusivity
  3. Oh man, if that's leading to a Headless Horseman type character that would be awesome! That electric looking helmet has got me intrigued, it has a superhero look to it but I can't place it as any specific superheroes. I suppose the big problem in identifying it is that it could be from anything, including the new "Monster Fighters" type theme...(it's not so much traditional Scooby Doo but I know they have done sci-fi monsters in some of the later cartoons) It does have a bit of an Xmen look to it, but then it also looks like it would fit in with the Ultra Agents theme as well.
  4. Regarding Moe, prior to the Simpsons Lego I wouldnt have thought it would ever have actually happened, I was very surprised when we got official confirmation. Therefore I'm pretty much nit surprised by anything TLG choose to use from the series. Add to that the recent Ideas/cuusoo stuff, it seems to me that TLG is becoming happier with the idea of stuff that is meant more for the adult market, I don't think it will ever be their primary goal to sell to AFOLs but they certainly seem to be more and more interested in what draws the AFOLs in.
  5. I think it tends to be other retailers that put stuff out early far more often than Lego stores too. I hear that some of the 2015 City sets have started appearing at Toys R Us already - I think that was in the Canada. As soon as I get any credible info on the 2015 DC sets hitting shelves in the UK I'm off to buy the set with Hawkman in...one of my favourite characters, who I'd pretty much given up hope of getting an official minifigure of. Now I just need DC to put out a really successful Justice League Dark movie and I might have a chance at getting a Deadman...not counting on it though!
  6. While they theoretically could have new moulds look at it from TLGs perspective, they already have head moulds for them that could be used for a load of different variants rather than making new moulds for other variants of existing characters.nthey are just as likely to sell using the same mould as a new. When you look at it that way why should TLG go to the expense of making new moulds when they don't need to. Now thats not to say they won't makenew moulds for variants of the family, but I'd say its much better to assume we will get the worst case scenario and be happy with that, then if we get anything better it will be utterly brilliant and we can be really happy about it.
  7. Might just be with TT being UK based its a Doctor Who reference for the sake of it with the colour changed to red to be like a generic british phone booth.
  8. Same, it's annoying they missed such an obvious trick!
  9. The problem with a hair down marge and a good version of Mr Plow is they'd both need new head moulds (I'm thinking Mr Plow with the hat) - Seeing as Marge seems to be set for a hat I think that her Sunday Best outfit is a highly likely candidate, TLG might have pre planned it, hence the hole in the head. They could do Mr Plow with the normal Homer head but it would miss a little of the charm of the character. I'm prepared to be proven wrong on all fronts with a second Simpsons CMF line, but I'd rather have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised ;-)
  10. As much as I'd love for the final set to be the same price as the Ecto-1 I think that the necessary details to make the set good (what made the project so good) will require a lot more parts and a lot more printing. I think TLG would be crazy to not include all 7 lead character and any that get left out could cause complaint and reduce sales (there will always be that person who says 'I loved the Ideas project but no way am I buying it without Amy!") so I'd be surprised if they don't include the full 7. The only dodge I could imagine them doing is doing it as 2 sets that join together e.g one set as living room the other as Kitchen with technic pins to join them. I wouldn't be surprised to see some episode specific references, but I imagine it'd more likely be that the whiteboards have pictures from the pictionary game etc. I hope that DC don't see any conflict in using micro figures printed as action figures with their characters or stop the use of a Sheldon comic book hero shirt, it would seem in their interest to allow TLG to use them, but they might put additional licensing fees on it that TLG won't want to pay. Very much surprised this got through, but I think it's a good sign that it did. It shows that TLG are taking the AFOL dollar seriously and opens the door to other potential licences that might have otherwise been passed on.
  11. Considering the fact that TLG is constantly trying to counter the notion that Lego is just for boys I think they'd likely want to avoid giving people more ammunition against them. I think they will likely do at least Homer, Bart, Marge and Lisa and if they can find an appropriate alternate costume for Maggie they almost certainly will do another.
  12. I think that considering how long the Simpsons has been running and how many different costumes the family have worn on occasions I'd put money on getting variants of the main family in another CMF series. If I remember correctly Marge's head has a hole in as if ready for a hat? I wouldn't be surprised if we got something in the way of; Sunday Best Marge Pyjamas Lisa Bartman if TLG are feeling generous or Blue t-shirt Bart if they aren't Vest and underpants or Sunday Best Homer I deliberately looked for repeating variants rather than those that only featured in one episode. I think that there is always a chance of all the family being Sunday Best versions, but I think Bart's combed hair look would really require a new mould. The only recurring variation of Maggie I could think of was Snow suit Maggie, but you'd think they'd want to reuse the baby body mould rather than make a new Star Shaped one. There are a lot of other variants I'd like more, but I think that recurring ones are more likely than single episode. I'd love a Stretch Dude Bart, Clobber Girl Lisa and Fallout Boy Millhouse but I think the fewer times they've appeared the less likely it is to happen.
  13. Man, you don't check a thread for a couple of days and all hell breaks loose! Pics of the Brainiac set - Great, another that I can't wait for, it would have been nice to see a New 52 Superman, but frankly there are plenty of other versions of superman I'd like more than the New 52 version that are far less likely to happen so I'm not really that bothered. I'm just pleased we are getting a Supergirl minifigure, the superheroes line looks a bit too much like a sausage fest at times. Batzarro - seeing as the blu ray it was packaged with was Justice league vs bizzaro justice league it makes perfect sense. Yes a standard Bizzaro would be preferred by most comic book fans, but without seeing the content of the film you can't really justify which makes more sense to be included. Keep in mind that at the minute it's looking like both Superheroes themes could be evergreen themes, there could be plenty of opportunity for additional Heroes and villains.
  14. The only pics of the bag I've seen have a Toys R Us exclusive logo on them so I wouldn't count on getting it with the Blu Ray
  15. The Tumbler was released ages after the Dark Knight trilogy was done, i dont think TLG worry about the relevant tie in for the more AFOL targeted sets.
  16. Apologies, flop might have been the wrong term. But despite reviews I have not met a single person who actually liked the film, most people I have spoken to said that they couldn't finish watching it because it was so bad. I'm normally able to watch films with a fairly unbiased viewpoint, but MoS I really struggled to find anything better to say for it than "I could see what they were trying to do with it." What I was really getting at though was how Zod's helmet is not instantly recognisable as a Man of Steel piece. Compare a Zod Helmet to a Starlord helmet, far more general public would recognise a Star Lord helmet than would recognise a Zod helmet.
  17. I had to use google to find out who you were talking about, apparently that one is Cleatus, when anyone says Cletus when talking about the Simpsons it's fairly obvious they mean Cletus Spuckler.
  18. True, but I suspect we won't ever see a wave this complete again without a cartoon tie-in. This wave is very unprecedented and I really hope it sells well to help justify the fact that they can do original scenes in the DC world (or Marvel world for that matter) and not have to worry about a direct tie in to sell them. I'm planning on breaking my normal wait for discounts with at least 2 sets in the wave and hope the excitement around some of the other new characters does the same for others. To be fair the Man of Steel sets, though pretty lack luster did provide some interesting parts packs for MOCs, I've seen some great stuff done with the Zod helmets/armour for Sci-Fi scenes, and it kind of helped that the movie flopped because when you see them out of context the parts don't instantly make you think of Superman.
  19. Last rumours I heard were potentially one Ant Man set next year, but I haven't seen anything concrete to that effect. The more Superhero minifigures we get the better for me as I'm planning a large scale MOC of a Comic Con in the (hopefully) not too distant future so they will all help for cosplayer minifigures. If we were to get a Heimdall minifigure I could imagine TLG reusing the old Knights Kingdom II sword piece for his sword, I know it's not going to be movie accurate but neither was Loki's staff or the Teseract, it would certainly be as close as them.
  20. I'd love a series of minifigures based on the blackest night/brightest day story lines, inc all the lantern variants of the DC Heroes & Villains, but could only see that happening as CMF series if they were ever to take that route with the Superheroes theme and even then it would be a long shot. I still have so little faith in Dawn of Justice doing well that I'm basically expecting all the other planned DC films to be cancelled, that way if they don't get cancelled I can be pleasantly surprised.
  21. We do have Smaug... I know its not the same as a proper minifigure but you know.
  22. It serves as much of a purpose as any Lego set based on a building. There's clearly an audience for it, otherwise the Ideas project wouldn't have reached review.
  23. Not a fan of Knightfall? There have been a few high profile comic book stories around Wayne Manor, in fact DC have just started a storyline where Wayne Manor is used as a temporary facility for Arkham. Admittedly, these aren't going to appeal to the average child looking at the set, but I think children would still be excited because Wayne Manor is huge in the Batman Franchise. That said, I'd still be surprised if we see a Wayne Manor on that scale, even if the Ideas project gets approved I'd imagine it'll be massively scaled down.
  24. With regard to getting the civilian versions of Superhero characters I think TLG could do a polybag promo with them in, ideally on the spend £/$/€X - I get why they are difficult to justify in sets, when there are always so many more potential Super characters to include.
  25. ^Either Anna or Elsa is being coronated (officially included in the Princesses line) this winter, so will be in line with the new set.
