Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
Itaria No Shintaku replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm trying to mantain this in a respectufl way, try you too please. Er... yes? Just because I DO respect opinions that differs from mine I am not listing the many reasons for which comparing one life to hundred thousand lifes and pretending they can be put on the same level is hypocritical. I respect your opinion, unlike you, but if you read afols' opinion they not only are against a military theme, they also say that it wouldn't sell as much as you think, because you are blinded by your own awe for such a theme. Though children may scream for having a military set, which is all to proof, it's their parents' final word that matters. And unless children have lenient parents, I doubt parents will endorse the average kid by buying him a military set. Brickarms is mainly for afols, whereas LEGO sells mainly for kids. Often afols do miss the point that TLG's target are and remain little kids. If you do not believe, make a proportion between UCS, Technic, Expert sets, and normal+duplo+easy to build sets. Nobody will be amazed in discovering there's less than 1 afol's set every 20 kids's sets. -

If you are placing on the same level a a crossbow and a bomb, I suggest you to try killing 100.000 people with a crossbow. Then you can come back and tell me. And... please take your time. I'll be waiting for you. PS: If you cared just to read opinions of other afols, people against military themes are way more than the ones for. There is a poll about this topic. But I assume people that do not think like you do have "werid things against military toys". I wonder if there is any connection between your taste for military toys and your total incapacity for respecting other people's opinions. -

I find you making fun of my opinion very disrespectful. -

I like swords and crossbows. I spite guns and bombs. There is nothing hypocritical. -

Analyzing the posts this I see: The ones open to a military theme find that TLG is hypocritical as they see connections between previous conflict-involved themes and an actual military theme. The ones who would not want it to be released find that TLG is pretty following their line without major steerings. In the end, the whole topic is useless. A poll would have been more effective to understand which is the global preference on this topic, as it's obvious that the pro and the con are backuping with the same opinions on and on and there is no meeting point. After all, TLG isn't making any Military theme, we all know, and if they make it, they won't do it after this post. :D -

Reading the AFOLs in this forum it is obvious that we would have more people disappointed than the ones pleased if that happened. -
Now that Belgium is gone only Deutschland remains for me...

Though I am italian, I despited many choices of the italian coach and I swore to support BELGIUM for this world cup. SO... ALLEZ LES DIABLES ROUGES!

That would be really a thing! I really wish they could do something like this, I'd buy tons of those for all my female minifigures.

I like all the three of them! The spooky girl could have been 'spooky boy' but... it can't be perfect.

LEGO Ideas: 21110 Research Institute/Female Minifigure Set

It's like witch hunting. You see misoginy where I don't. People obsessed with homophobia, racism, misoginy and the like will see them everywhere. -

Well, I absolutely not mean to offend, but maybe it could be that you are over sensitive on this topic. I feel like "well, that's a toy" as I already stated, I feel that if lacking equality is wrong indeed, it may be even wronger to charge a toy of all those political meanings. One thing that I find very strange since I joined this AFOL community is that most people think they are the target for LEGO, while we aren't. KIDS are target for LEGO, so 99% of the kids will like toys representing their world. Boys will like boys minifigure, girls will like girls minifigures. That's it. Kids aren't blamable for equality. I actually when I was a kid removed the femail hair and put hats on minifigures to have less girls and more boys in my town. Of course I am not taking myself as the majority, that's just my personal experience. -

I actually instead agree with the OP and I find this reply very rude and aggressive. After all it's a toy. And even if it was to represent reality with high fidelity (ad it's NOT), you don't see the same ratio of man and woman wherever you go. If I go taking a classic dance lesson, I will find (nearly) exclusively women there. If I walk into a sexy shop, I will find (nearly) exclusively men there. Since men and women DO have different interests, it's pretty normal to find them in different places doing different things. -

My girlfriend was very excited at this set, so I'll buy her one as a present! Women! -

I like a lot this set, but I fear it can be overpriced, though it doesn't contain licensed themes. The only flaw is the poor choice of the minifigures, but it has a lot of reusable pieces. Nice work! -
You're right my friend! If I looked better, after all, that was a silly question! :)

Itaria No Shintaku replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in Special LEGO Themes
1 - Army builder figure 2 - There were barcodes, very easy to identify the fig inside. 3 - The fig costed very few compared to today. 4 - There were no such figures but him to portray zombies 5 - When price raised people stacked him to resell him. 6 - Light gray hands are very rare. 7 - Want moar? :D- 43 replies

Probably the best MOC I've ever seen. I can't just add more.

I strongly doubt either. He will have a 2x2 white tile as a pizza box, no 2x2 round pizza imho.
