  1. going to go with Lor San Tekka, great Jedi esque robes and a nice face print.
  2. Hover tank Pilot, that helm is a great piece, and the printing is just as good. we've already a Vader on our tops list, and emporer still has that weird green yellow skin (really needs to be more pale/grey but not completely grey tone.
  3. yup, Chirrut Imwe gets my vote here really like the red trimmed cloth for his robes. (and I also missed last round, though I would have picked Dengar)
  4. lets go with the Death Star Droid, none of those really was a WOW figure on the looks alone. Tarkin is a must have for who it represents, but the figure is simple so the droid wins
  5. also if you have kids in the age 6 - 12~ish range the Lego Kidsfest events are actually pretty cool, went to one in Cleveland years ago. for adults only there really is very little to do, shop in the mobile Lego store, and maybe try out the kid centric hands on things. for kids though, almost the entire event is hands on, a giant Lego pile to build in, car build stations with ramps to test them on, Monochromatic build stations. and some guided build events possibly with a "Master builder." I've also done brickfair VA, and Brickworld Chicago, and for me I prefer VA, but it's a longer trip so I've not gone in recent years (hoping to be able to go this year though)
  6. I don't know if these candies are available in your area, but we found some sweet-tart like candies that were brick shaped and buildable. everyone got a sizable amount in a custom box (cardboard). another thing we did for ours was "build your own center piece" we provided around 120-130, 2x4 bricks per table and let the guests build what ever they wanted. from all accounts this was a great idea. although mildly expensive (think it was around 500 USD, for the 2x4 bricks, back when you could buy a box direct from a Lego Store)
  7. very nice, I'm partial to the Alleghany class over the Big Boy but there is no denying this is a great piece of work you've created. and the inclusion of lights on it just takes the show level up another notch. well done! I'm curious what is the smallest radius that thing will go around? those 104s are nice sweeping curves compared to standard Lego corners.
  8. looks good, I like the white/black coloration and the splashes of colors trans tiles add a but of charm to it. the only details that I would recommend looking into adjusting is the secondary wings, they look undersized on your build relative to the reference included (other references support this as well). the only other change is that the wings are often shown as curved both along length and width, I know that is a real difficult thing to model with Lego but if you could get that form it would set this far and away as one of the best Virago/Star Vipers out there.
  9. that lends a significant amount of credibility to the rumor we've been hearing for a few months now, of course without providing anything certain. the simple fact that a Lego Rep said "It is possible" is actually quite telling. 1st, this means that Lego have in fact been looking into the idea of re-releasing it in some form. and 2nd, Lego feels comfortable (or at least this rep) in acknowledging this idea, meaning that their current projection is favorable for a re-release of it both in manufacturing demand and projected sales. so it can be inferred that a Licensed set of similar popularity, size, and cost is in our future. we can't know if that is a 2017 release or some other year but it is good to see that they are trying to fill a long asked for demand. so I for one count the UCS Millennium Falcon rerelease as imminent.
  10. weird it shows no entries on my screen closed and in review. keep us up to date on this!
  11. AND.........SOLD. (I mean I probably was going to get it anyway but now it's a priority car LOL) very nicely done
  12. awesome, glad to see Lego and McLaren are still good partners. from the image I really can't tell how good it looks, but the rim inserts look good, and I can always use more orange. can't wait for june to get my hands on one :)
  13. thought i'd mention here that McLaren has Revealed the 720S at Geneva. so if no news comes out in the next week or two on set 75880 (McLaren road car) I think we can officially call it a canceled set.
  14. of the 3 (including the Rancor pit) the Palace with pit combo is my favorite. the sail barge is nice but hard to display as it is so small compared to the figures, and other Tatooine vehicles. I did end up getting all of the sets and moved as many figures as was possible into the palace, really makes it feel like it did in the film once you load up more figures in there.
  15. My collection is showing as 552 sets (but I know brickset is augmented high due to Collectable minifigures being "sets") and around 120k pieces. given that most of my sets are on the small side I always thought of mine as small too. however using the 2008 number of 62 bricks person world wide, I own ~2000 peoples worth of bricks....
  16. LOL fair enough, didn't have time yesterday to go looking for a movie still, but couldn't resist answering it at least indirectly. (glad to see it got answered quick enough)
  17. I'm up in the Air on this one Sir, perhaps tomorrow it will be more clear. ;)
  18. out of curiosity, what purpose does selecting your shown followers serve? assuming a person has enough to have to chose who is shown, wouldn't that mean you are by extension choosing which followers are most important to you? and implying that those not shown are of lesser importance? maybe i'm reading too far into it, but as far as followers go I would just as soon like to not know who is following me, as I would seeing a list of everyone who is.
  19. I was doing some numbers a while back, and for 8 wide these are actually extremely close to correct in length. for example assuming the real Ford GT is 80 inches wide and a length around 180 (common numbers for supercars) 8 studs is 10inch per stud. making the car 18 studs long, and if my eyes are correct the above GT is (with diffuser) is in fact 18 studs long. the real challenge is the height of these cars. the GT40 looks to sit around 13 or 14 plates tall (to top of roof from ground) to match scale it needs to set at a mere 10 plates high! using the SC fenders that just isn't an option. Well done on the GT40, I do really like the change it has gone through, the GT is magnificent too side from that 4 wide windshield, it's a shame there isn't a better part for that, I see why you used it and in fact it's the reason why I haven't been converting to 8 wides with mine. there just isn't another good option for a 6 wide windshield for these more extreme hyper car canopies.
  20. there are only 2 possibilities remaining for 75880: 1. Lego canceled it, the reason will never be known. 2. Lego delayed it at request of McLaren. you may know it was rumored to be called "McLaren roadcar" well it just so happens that next month is the Geneva car show, where McLaren will be bringing its newest car (rumored to be called 720S) I hope option 2, but I expect option 1...
  21. TRU pre street date tend to already have their mark up on them. then from street date till about 3 months out is RRP, after that the price jumps back up to the TRU mark up. so if you are looking for best price I'd just wait till march (it's not that far out now) and buy direct, (also I prefer getting VIP points to use on UCS stuff later in the year)
  22. that rear end is not how I expected it to be. lots of holes and gaps in the body with that rubber band floating there. I do like the new pieces used though, so I can see several uses for those. idk, I'm torn on this one, 80% of the car looks good, the other 20% needs to be redone (even if I do live it SC style)
  23. keeping with the current trend of being transparent as possible. I am speculating that if this spherical UCS is Not BB-8, then what about the Trade Federation Control Ship, and its Spherical 'Core'. it fits the hint rather well I'd say. sphere, and outside it all in one ship. We've not seen a UCS of it or any other scale that I'm aware of, so it wouldn't be a rehash. I don't believe it counts as a play set though the arms of the ship could be filled with play features. honestly and it might just be me but I see it as a plausible alternative to the BB-8 theory.
