  1. When you hit 50, what class are you going to choose? I'm planning on Paragon, myself.
  2. Just a quick question: I've been penning a small quest of my own for submission, someday, and I was wondering about side-quests. The main quest is pretty A -> B linear, and the environment itself takes care of any issues with "rail-roading." I came up with an idea for a very small side-quest - just off the main quest, and fairly simple and straight-out. The only reason I'm asking if I should keep it, is because it involves getting a string of dice rolls right - rolling a die three times, and on each getting either a 4, a 5, or a 6(and if you get a 1, a 2, or a 3, you have to re-roll). The reward for winning it would be worth the little bit of extra time, and I would of course update as often as possible so it wouldn't slow the quest down, but I'm just wondering if it would distract too much from the main quest...
  3. "Claps long and loudly!" Will there be new anniversary photos of all of our characters in the hall?
  4. I am, of course, not saying that murdering people is worse that keeping toys away from them, rather, the whole picture is a reference to a surprisingly fitting scene from Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #1. Courtesy of the vastness known as the Internet, here's that exact scene for reference: (It will be noted that I did not use their outfits for the scene, electing instead to use White's post-transformation face(or as close as I could come to it with the extremely limited pallet), and a Joker outfit based on the memorable "Hawaiian Shirt" outfit he wears in part of Batman: The Killing Joke.)
  5. Lind sighs, struggles, and jerks his arm free with the nimbleness of a Munchkin. A description that technically repeats itself. Still believing against hope that there's something in the Master Bedroom, Lind scans the room for anything of value he might have over-looked, and then searches the walls, floor, and ceiling carefully for any signs of a hidden cupboard, safe or cranny where something might be concealed.
  6. An occasionally updated thread, where I post pictures of various Space settings and locations. With lots of lighting. Lots. Oh, and the guy in the suit is a Neotron astronaut. Just for reference. *WICP - Work In Continual Progress.
  7. I have created the official meme* for all of those against Comic-Con exclusive minifigs: Feel free to comment on the thread over in Licensed Figures! *Sorry if the photo's oversized. And for the double topic post.

  9. I would also like to point out that Green Lantern wasn't actually all that bad as a movie. Sure, it wasn't the greatest, but there's only so much that you can do with a guy who uses a ring to fly around with. The plot is not entirely bad, the animation(other than that strange, skin-tight suit) is quite passable, and the acting is definitely view-able. The worst part of the movie as a whole was that they couldn't decide whether to make it a comedy or a drama, meaning that we switch from fairly dramatic scenes to scenes where Ryan Reynolds* is driving on what's essentially a Matchbox Car Tracks kit. That he used his power ring to construct. Because it was the most "funny" thing they could think of. But these scenes sadly overshadow what is actually a highly underrated movie with scenes at least as good as those you might find Thor or Iron Man II(stop the clip at 1:17, otherwise the effect is ruined): *Probably a bit of the comedy came from Reynolds himself - also known as "Mr. When Do I Get To Play Deadpool Again? I'm Talking To You, Audience!" But, although Fillion's acting range is excellent, the character of Green Lantern is enough "over-the-top" that Reynolds's style fits better - just without Matchbox scenes.
  10. Technically, clutch can also mean "handbag/purse*," and I'm pretty sure not too many of us carry around a purse of bricks. Granted, one could argue that also might apply to minifigs, but the whole "clutch power" concept when used in connotation with minifigs, generally brings up a mental picture of the hands, not a bag, unlike bricks. On another note, here's a list of all of the different terms, and how many supporters for each: act: 1 assembly: 1 bunch: 1 bucket: 1 domination: 1 epidemic: 2 clutch: 9 click: 4 clique: 2 crowd: 1 collection: 3 floggle: 1 happiness: 2 handful: 1 huddle: 1 infestation: 2 kerfuffle: 1 miggle: 2 troupe: 2 plastic: 1 *North American, but not the most obscure meaning.
  11. It's a given that he's going to "be that important" - it's called the entire arc confirmed by Marvel. And I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to wait till a month before the movie for my Collector to start "collecting" the Gems, all of which will have already been released by then(in other words, not collecting), I want to display him with them now while they're still part of the plot, and not just the elements of the Infinity Gauntlet. Green Lantern is not a good example of a "successful, non-essential promotion". Why? His costume. It's the outfit he wore in the (admittedly needing some work) movie. And I don't know about you, but I'd rather have, oh, say, the outfit that he wore in his only movie for public release set(in other words, the only one that the general public might recognize!), then one of the dozens of his almost-identical comic costumes, which would have been infinitely better for a limited release*. *To be fair, back then, the upcoming Superman and Batman films were both supposed to have Green Lantern in their mythos, a la Marvel style, so it's understandable why LEGO might release him, thinking that he would be in an upcoming movie again, but it's still not a good example.
  12. Actually, the Collector is possibly the most "must-have" off all possible movie characters. Without the Collector to collect the Infinity Gems(The Cosmic Cube, Thor II's Red Mist, GotG's Generic Silver Sphere), there wouldn't be an Infinity Gauntlet. Without the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos is just some generic Space Alien Bodybuilder. Without an over-powered Thanos, Avengers II has no plot besides Hank Pym's domestic abuse lawsuit. Oh, and something or other to do with a robot.
  13. I think that a clutch of minifigs works on two levels: It works on a verbal level. - "Minifigs clutch," and LEGO itself created the concept of "Clutch Power*", which is often associated with minifig hands, and it therefore works even more. *No, not that guy. Speaking of which, when are they going to get around to releasing a sequel?
  14. I would like to suggest that an official forum thread be started for Ideas projects by Eurobricks members. It would give us a chance to band together, and would help organize all of the great ideas out there*. *For instance, ummester built a beautiful modern take on the Galaxy Explorer, something that I'm sure almost all of us would eagerly support in a heart-beat, but no one would find it** unless they went directly to the Sci-Fi forum. **Granted, that's the first place you would look for something like that, but it would be far more expedient for everyone if we just had a thread, where people could see all the ideas laid out by theme, and click through to the Ideas page. "Like this, supported, meh, maybe if they change it, oh, oh, definitely supporting this," etc.
  15. I had a similar ad to that one appear as a redirect* when I clicked onto the Heroica home page from the Hall. Glad to see I'm not alone. Not sure if it was the same ad, or one for Adobe updates. Very similar, though. *Redirect, not a popup or additional tab,
  16. Eeww. I meant more in the line of searching dressers, cabinets, etc for loot. Kind of what Lind's doing in #103. Corpses... Eeww.
  17. Very, very well done, especially the front half! You should seriously consider putting this on LEGO Ideas!
  18. Red may be more classic, but red was the only color wheels back then would have come in. They were already stretching their budget for all of the new parts, and why run a bunch of blue wheels that they could only use in spaceships, when they were already making red for LEGOLAND TOWN? Red does stand out a bit against the otherwise almost entirely Light Grey 452, 463, and 886, but this is not a new interpretation of those, this is a new interpretation of the Galaxy Explorer, the body of which is almost entirely Blue with accents of Trans Yellow. Blue wheels blend better with Blue than Red does. Red might inspire a little bit of positive reminiscence, but Blue fits the overall color scheme better, whereas Red is distracting.
  19. (Makes a mental note to watch out for future Bricksandparts quests!) If I ever host a quest, the loot drop will probably be(assuming Sandy were to approve it) very "open-world" based. E.g., monsters and bosses drop a moderate amount of gold and potions, with one or two weapons or artifacts(the usual). The real loot though, would be directly based on how diligently you search for it(as in, search and examine everything and everywhere - it will pay off.).
  20. Just speaking as a Munchkin here, although the chances of actually winning a Lucky Die are very small at best, I personally think that it adds another layer to the game. I remember dreaming of getting a Mosaic Jester Hat as a drop in a MMO I formerly played, and although the chances were small(1% from the absolutely toughest enemies, in a "last kill wins loot" scenario), I never gave up, and just the imagining of owning such a rare object was fun on its own*. *Even more fun when I actually got one.
  21. As he does the tasks mentioned earlier, Lind calls to Hoke. "Check to see if there's any healing potions in the medicine credenza, beneficial bath salts, etc. Also, I don't suppose there's anything gold-plated?"
  22. Lind spreads the jewelry out on the bed, using the best of his limited knowledge of petrology(mostly gleaned from repeated readings of Twenty and One Days Among the Rock Hounds by Jewels Vern.) to try to ascertain if any of them are of value significant to steal, and if any of them form a set which would be worth stealing. He then checks underneath the bed, to see if there is anything stashed down there. Action 1: Lind stepped back to the chimney. Bending over, he thrusts his arm up into the flue, his fingers searching for anything that might be stuffed away up there. Action 2: Lind grips the Ethereal Deck in his hand. Although the light does not seem to come from the cards directly, a glowing aurora seems to surround them. Looking up into the chimney, he suddenly tosses the cards upwards. They fly up with a sound like a sword being rapidly unsheathed, as if they are cutting the air itself. They cast just enough light to see if the chimney is holding anything inside it**. *If it's that the flue is too small to stick his head up, Lind makes Action 1, if it's that it's too dark to see to the top, Lind makes Action 2. **If I'm pushing the RP to far with this, and giving things RP abilities that are too powerful, I apologize. I've always pictured Lind's battle stance as him throwing this hand of brightly glowing cards, and I was applying that here. If I'm pushing too hard, I can change my action. I know I'm probably barking up the wrong tree(or throwing cards up the wrong flue), but I'm not sure where else a valuable might be hiding, if it's not in the jewelry or under the bed...
  23. "No, still searching the Master Bedroom. After that, I'm going to check the Spare Bedroom."
  24. Lind examines the closet for clothes hanging there. He looks around for any dressers or bookcases and looks inside of them. He also checks to see if there is a chimney, and if there is, he checks to see if the flue is properly closed or if Alfendi could make an entrance there. You guys could try splitting the growshroom, and each gain 1/2 a Power level...
