THe thing with complaining about HF cliffhangers is that HF is an ongoing story/toyline, or at least it was. However, the way HF does things would be like BIONICLE revealing the Bohrok at the end of the MNOG, and then doing something completely different the next year. BIONICLE's serials ended without resolution, but that was because the toyline had ended, so Greg wasn't getting paid for it anymore, and he had a load of other things to do to put bread on the table, especially since the amount of mouths he had to feed had just increased. Interesting that you should mention that. Myself and a bunch of my IRL friends actually put together a BIONICLE-based D&D campaign. Everyone is a Toa, and upon levelling up, you can put the level into either Fighter, which increases your physical stats, or Adept, which unlocks a new Elemental ability. It's pretty tight and I've only almost died twice. One of my friends is a Toa of Gravity, and another was a Toa of Magnetism. We argued that Magnetism was a redundant element when the Toa of Gravity could do basically the same thing, but without the need to be working with metal. He said it was okay because one of us was going as a Fe-Toa, so he would use said Fe-Toa as a projectile. Needless to say, that guy chose to play a Ta-Toa instead. Also, the Magnetism guy never took any Adept levels, and most of his weapons were shurikens and throwing knives, the idea being that he manipulated them all with his powers. Which he never took a level in. And then he tried to melee a Dark Hunter that would've made General Grievous envious. With throwing knives. THis ended about as well as you'd expect, so the Gravity vs. Magnetism thing sort of resolved itself before it became an issue. The guy's new character is a Toa of Lightning, and so far, he has played her much more competantly. Meanwhile, I took Plasma as my element. Quite a few of Adept abilities were drawn from Fire and Lightning, and I have an increased resistance to both, though I can't absorb them. My primary weapon is a Plasma blade, which essentially works like a Lightsaber (Because that's what Lightsabers are), and I recently unlocked the ability to create Toa-sized clouds of Plasma. which, being a superheated gas, has been very useful for limiting enemy movement. Of course, that's not to say that the group has been entirely without stupidity. We've all had some pretty dumb moments, but that's getting off-topic. I'll discuss that when I get around to posting the MOC I made of my character.

I remember Zaktan talking about murdering a Su-Toa, but not the other guy.

I always assumed that Earth did include control over plant matter, but then they made plant life it's own element for no apparent reason (Seriously, as an element, it's entirely superfluous: We never see a Bo-Koro, or a Bo-Matoran, nor is a Toa of that element referred to. It's just there because it's there), and it made Stone and Earth largely indistinguishable.

Roodaka would be pretty awesome as a major villain again.

Yeah, the Pokemon one works for me. SUre, HG/SS overwrites G/S/C in the canon, but it still incorporates all three. No matter your version, Ethan/Lyra still gets Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Suicune. Of course, I am wondering how much of Emerald will be in Alpha Sapphire and Omega Tahu Ruby, but that's offtopic.

Onua has purple in him, and the only Trans Green he had in him before was his eyes, so Trans Green should be fine. Trans Green or Trans Lime, though? Lime would be closer to the Antidermis we had in 06, but unless it was only in minimal amounts, it would make him too bright, I think.

1) That's precisely my point: He gets smooshed by his own armour, yet the goo that was probably left was enough to revive him with? Then why can't Makuta be brought back? I thought the reason they couldn't return was because the only way to definitely kill one was to vaporize the Antidermis, leaving only the armour behind, and Icarax was too disintergrated to be restored. But if Botar can be revived from his armour, why not the Makuta? 2) Makes sense. 3) Not sure if it was written differently in the novel, but in the movie, he runs in front of the Shadow Hand (With no explanation of how he got up to where Vakama and Teridax were), it snags his shield, and rips it out of his hand. The Vahi flies off of Vakama's face, and Terry flies after it, and then Lhikan suddenly starts to expire, even though the SHadow Hand only caught his shield.

Nope, the Red Star needs a corpse. Basically, it's so nobody could ruin Matoro's sacrifice by bringing him back. Also helps that a lot of the dead characters got disintergrated. It does raise a question about it, though. I mean, Botar was crushed inside his own armour by Icarax. And if the Red Star revives people, then why was there a corpse of the alternate Tuyet on the sea floor? And how the hell did Lhikan die from having his shield stolen?

In 08, when the Phantoka came out, the catalogue said that the Toa and Av-Matoran had "Yellow eyes", and the Makuta and Kra-Matoran had "Red eyes". Sure enough, it was more trans-lime and trans-orange. Reboot. And let's be honest, we thought he was dead when he got a door dropped on him. It's not like they couldn't say he shoved his spirit into a Mask or something when the moon hit him. Or, since it was never officially revealed that the green cloud that merged with the Skakdi fusion was Zaktan, retcon that to being part of Teridax's essence.

I'd like Teridax, if he were to return, to have more 2001 in him too. Go for a pure black colour scheme, for one thing. I dunno why, but I don't like purple villains. From there, keep the yellow eyes from the MNOG. As in, actual trans-yellow eye pieces, not the same trans-lime that they tried to sell as yellow in 08. THen give him interchangeable parts on his back, one set being bladed tendrils, the other being wings. And finally, include the parts for an infected Defender, with a Hau. Of course, no guns for him, though.

If HF goes, I'd consider this a disappointing final year, at least story-wise. Sure, giant monsters are epic, but as the final villains? Nope. There's a reason why the Kaiju in Pacific Rim were bioweapons made by another sapient species, really. I can kinda see that, as of 2015, the Chima constraction sets will be discontinued entirely, HF will end, and Ninjago and Bionicle will be the main two in the story-driven area.

I'm in two minds about Teridax possibly returning. On one hand, he's the big bad, the main villain, and it wouldn't be the same without him. On the other hand it likely wouldn't the same anyway.

If it's a continuation, then I think the 2010 Golden Armour might end up destroyed, or nerfed in some way. Tahu used it to kill basically very Rahkshi in existence at that time, and because of that, he now has all of the Makuta powers. Broken, much?

I've replaced my Tanma's limbs twice, same with Lewa Phantoka's. Kirop, Chirox, Gavla, and Vultraz are all still perfectly servicable. As for the proportion issue, I too find that a lot of HF sets have arms that are too short. Hell, when I watched Pacific Rim, I thought Gipsy Danger's arms looked too short. I know they're closer to human than the Inika builds were, but I kinda liked having the longer arms. That was what a Toa looked like for me, ever since I got into the series. ANd let's not forget that the 03 Matoran have hands that reach the floor and basically no legs. The Mahritoran are just like that, but upscaled, and the Avotoran aren't an accurate depiction of Matoran proportions because they're enlarged.

This! All of my this! I discussed this in my topic about the qualities of Inika builds, and I still think the Matoran species not having human proportions is something entirely inconsequential because they aren't humans. They've never been humans, and the only time you'll see them as humans is when someone on DA draws them as animu bishie humans, either for a laugh or because they can't draw machine characters. They never will be humans, and their proportions have never been human. (Arms as long as legs, if not longer, since 2001, complete with tiny upper arms/thighs and gangly forearms/shins, oversized feet, weird and wonderful hand designs, etc... Hell, I remember the time BZP praised a set for coming closer to human proportion than Bionicle ever had previously. That set? Tanma. (This is no slight against Tanma, he's one of my favourite sets/characters... when he isn't succumbing to Lime Plastic Syndrome)

Having faces just made sense, because they were wearing masks. By BA, it was pretty clear that the heroes' helmets were basically their faces anyway, something that I didn't like, since making the helmets unique detracted from the creativity. See, there can easily be another Toa of Fire with a Hau or Huna, but a another red hero who has Furno's exact same face is a little ridiculous.

Not seeing much love for the Lord of Skull Spiders. Not entirely surprised by that, he does sound a little underwhelming for a wave one big bad. Still, maybe he's just a warm up for the more threatening villains that we'll get later.

My hype is reaching critical mass... I'm in two minds about a NYCC reveal. On the one hand, there is a fair amount of sense to the idea. Bionicle is a fondly-remembered line, which had some pretty good transmedia material, which will hopefully return, and the fandom explosion since the leak could convince Lego to put it there if they were in two minds about it before. On the other hand, it's probably not big enough.

Tahu has 2.0 torso shells for greaves, meaning that his lower leg bones are going to be about the length of the longer leg beams from Bionicle Classic.

As we've observed: HF never ties up loose ends. Breakout is the most obvious case, and since we've seen nothing relating to Von Nebula, Villain Factory, or any of that interesting stuff since 2012, I doubt they'll pick it up now.
