  1. This is my entry for Avalonian task 4, in the category of REQ-Laborers IMG_4118 by lorddan413, on Flickr This scene depicts on of several small quarries in the area surrounding the settlement of Araluen. Due to their small size, the quarries are mined by hand by workers, often working alone or in pairs. Miners load smaller stone into a barrel carried by a horse for transport back to the camp, while larger stone are dragged back by the horse. The quantity of stone provided by a single quarry is quite low, but with more than half a dozen of these quarries Araluen manages to get enough stone. Quarry Worker 2.0 by lorddan413, on Flickr Quarry w/o figs 2.0 by lorddan413, on Flickr About this build: I built this back in September, but i never got around to posting it until now. It as originally going to be part of a a larger rock face, but it didn't fit because of the SNOT and stuff, so i repurposed it and built a base. One thing i dislike about it is the green plate running underneath the rock, but I didn't catch it until way after i took the pictures. Oh yeah i named my settlement Araluen C & C welcome
  2. Hahaha :)
  3. Really nice smokehouse, it looks great! The interior detail is very nice and the design in general, especially the roof, is awesome
  4. Great build! I really love the atmosphere of this build and it looks exactly as I imagine an inn would! I really like the roof and walls of the building, and the surroundings add a lot to the scene too. The one part I am unsure about is the rock wall type things as a base. I think it is distracting and looks strange, since it is under the soil. I think it would look better with more brown, or something that looked like ground
  5. Nice kaphalin build, it's always nice to see more of Ruadh! The grithril is a realy cool idea and it is very well executed
  6. Awesome build, this feels perfectly Mitgardian, especially with that great bear claw mosaic on the floor
  7. Gorgeous tower, and great to see the continuation of the dark isle saga :) that's exactly what I thought when I first saw this :)
  8. Fantastic Moc, the amount of detail in the castle is insane, but so is the amount of detail in just about everything you build!
  9. Awesome build, the fantastic shapes and level of detail you manage to create in your builds is unparalleled, as superbly demonstrated in this great moc :)
  10. Great build , the kaphalin architecture is really well done and it turned out fantastic.
  11. Great scene! That gatehouse looks great, especially in that first pic, where you can see the inside of the wall and get a sense of how very tall it is. The wagon is also really detailed , but I agree with the wagon must be very light for those two poor horse to be able to pull it by themselves. I really like the buildings out front, the overhang over the door in particular cought my eye.
  12. really great gatehouse. The walls look very clean but are still well broken up by the dark tan, and the wooden parts on top are a nice detail. I also reallylike the inclusion of the detail in the landscape such as the stream, the waterpump, and the vendor.
  13. I really like this , the stone foundation looks really nice and the tower looks fine to me until you pointed it out. The cellar doors are really cool and are one of my favorite parts, along with the tilted entrance.
  14. Great build, I love to see all the detail put in to showing the mining process. I love all the activity going on as well as all the rockwork. There seem to have been a lot of mining builds lately( I have one built too, that been built for several weeks but I'm too lazy to actually upload it yet) Also, I wish there was an overall pic, or one that showed more of the top because in that first pic the top is cut off
  15. Great build, you managed to make a full blown shop in a little tiny building( and a little on the outside I guess) and still make it fully detailed. Looks awesome!
  16. Fantastic build, with insane an insane amount of detail, as usual :)
  17. Great sequence of build, this is a great way to depict a journey. The mountain side looks great, but I think my favorites are the forest scene and the bird scene, which works really well and is very innovative :) Great sequence of build, this is a great way to depict a journey. 18. Great build, the ampitheater is really well done, and I really like the inclusion of a Joshua tree in the background :)
  19. Whoa, this is awesome! I love how much detailed the bridge is, from the angled towers to the arches on the bottem, it turned out fantastic! :)
  20. Noooooo, why would you destroy something you put so much effort into without at least giving us a few pictures :(
  21. Whoa, that's really impressive! The whole thing looks fantastic, but I think my favorite part is the parts useage for the face :)
  22. Nice build, great idea to put a tapestry to break up the wall, it works very well :) The bed looks nice( although Lord Rohan can not be very comfortable on it) ;)
  23. Very innovative builds! The first build is very well done, and While im not a fan of the technique in the second one I must admit that it came out very well. Perhapse it would feel more natural without those random studs up plates that upset the feel of fallen trees and stuff.
  24. Neat vig! I like the furniture, the table and shelf work well, although as others have said I wish I could see what on the top shelf.
  25. Nice SNOT rockwork, that arch especially is really cool. and neat minifig posing!
