  1. A couple things about your statement. People who want river plates may not have or want to spend the money on pieces to brick build a river(same could be said for roads). Printed rivers don't gave to be just straight or 90 degree angles...they can flow any which way LEGO would decide to print them on the baseplate.
  2. Ooh, this sounds interesting. If its anything like Cloudy was, its going to be good. I really enjoyed Cloudy, quite funny. I'd most certainly love to see a LEGOcentric movie on the big screen. Especially hearing the scenery is going to be all bricks too.
  3. I was a bit surprised by that as well. I love the books. My brother gave me a copy of the first book late last year. I couldn't get enough of it, I just couldn't put it down. I ended up reading the whole series in a month. I'm just about done with the first book for the third time. I am so excited for tis movie, in fact, I don't think I have been more excited for one. The one thing I hope not to do to the point where it ruins the experience for me, is point out what they did wrong in my head. There's a great site that is hosting a bunch of videos about the premieres and interviews with the stars and director. If it's ok with the mods, I'll post it.
  4. For the corner buildings, it wouldn't be much different, albeit a little more tricky. You'd have to use 3 baseplates, ten just do what was shown in the video. It would just take a lot more plates and tiles.
  5. Sure, $150 is a lot for 'just a toy'. But, anyone who isn't into LEGO(assuming your wife is one), then they don't really understand the awesomeness that is the Modular line. Maybe you would benefit from checking out the buying LEGO in secret thread. Its too bad you missed out on that BOGO deal... I really think you should buy them, who knows, maybe the wife will end up liking them. When I had my City displayed, everyone loved looking at them and couldn't believe they were LEGO.
  6. Wow, sensory overload?! Theres so much to look at. The interiors are jam packed with stuff, yet it looks roomy as well. Great job making them. Good use of the CMFs, if only they'd make a drummer(the overall wearing lady with the huge drumsticks just looks out of place ). You do such amazing work, you really do live up to your name. Awesome.
  7. Great update, Cunctator! More evidence the Town Hall looks good in line. Also, in seeing your two end buildings, light blue and brown ones. I'd love to see something similar officially. Two townhouses/apartments that are the same, but not. Much like 10218 is, but two townhouses.
  8. Not just you. I checked last night, then now, nothing. The figs sound cool, I can't wait to see them.
  9. When will we find out about the 'May the Fourth' promo fig? I don't want to miss out like I did last year with the Shadow ARF. What's the criteria for getting the fig?
  10. A page(or 2, either 322 or 323) there's a link to a Brickset thread where someone hinted at the new chrome fig has orange eyes.
  11. What movie is that? I don't remember reading about a LEGO Superheroes movie...
  12. As long as you don't mind the prices of Modulars, then there really isn't a downside to buying these, IMO. Even then, there's only 1 a year. The sets are just fantastic and are a great and long build, you really feel like you got your moneys worth. While theres no variety in faces, it's a nod to LEGOs early days. They're great display items, whether you have any number of them. The Cafe Corner/Market Street was how I found my way back to LEGO. I think they are by far one of the best themes, and my favorite. Just look at a picture of all seven together, brings a tear to your eye.
  13. Very nice. I'd definitely suspect that surgeon of malpractice. I like how you included so many CMFs in your layout. I still think that 10224 looks good with the others. Seeing more pictures only solidifies my opinion.
  14. That's an interesting idea. Thanks for that.
  15. Interesting...I'll keep an eye on this thread. I can't wait to see how the finished product turns out.
  16. OMG... Where does this kid get his money? I know he gets some from YouTube, but this kid has some serious $. Or very nice parents.
  17. Cool scene! That first picture makes me want to go down the hole and see what's there. I like the teapot and the Hatter.
  18. Have fun waiting for those. I always go crazy waiting for one set to come. If I had to wait for that bounty, I don't know what would happen to me.
  19. Having a street end in the yard of a house seems a bit odd. Also, the lower left corner is a bit unsafe wouldn't you say? The lane just stops in favor of train tracks going on the street? I like the overall format, the layout is pretty nice, a few minor changes will happen once you get it in the flesh, I'm sure. I'm eager to see the real thing.
  20. Welcome to the addiction that is Modulars! I'm guessing since you don't own FB that you've avoided the line so far. It's both a blessing and a curse.

Well, from what I can see, it looks cool. Maybe get a closer shot(s) of it so we can see it better.
  22. Wow Oky! Thats some great shelving. Great set up too. I'm pretty jealous of that UCS Grievous. mutley, what else to say about your update. What about, what took you so long? I thought we'd be seeing the first picture much sooner. More jealousy oozing from me though. I really like the Wolfpack clones.
  23. You could just use 1x1 rounds that we all have millions of, stick them in-between the studs on the baseplate and set the section of say, Mines of Moria at an angle. It would sit a bit higher, but hardly noticeable.
  24. I voted for the modularity of the sets. While I think they do fine as far as big and small sets, even though it seems as impulse sets are gone. But, the way you suggested, I'd love to see Hogwarts be done that way. A classroom as a set, then the common rooms/dorms as others. Throw a couple named students in there with a generic one, you're set.
  25. I don't get it either. I have so many useless intersection plates because I needed more straight roads(still do ). Come on LEGO, bring back the straight road plates pack!
