This little deliverer of deliciousness is way too cute! Even more so than other demonically cute kittens. Another brilliant job Schfio. You never disappoint.

MOC: "I'm Not Left-Handed Either."
Vindicare replied to Masked Builder's topic in Special LEGO Themes
INCONCEIVABLE!?! Great looking Cubedudes. The background is nicely done as well. You captured Wesley and Inigo quite well. -
WOW! Way to come out swinging. This is brilliant. The way it blends in to Cafe Corner, like it was a part of the set. Your addition to 10184 Cinema is great too. The "PUB" sign is quite reminiscent of Grand Emporium. The interior is nice and crammed, just like a good bar should be.

That's a good looking police station. The inside is nice and would be perfect for that small town office. Take the show, "Once Upon A Time" threes 2 cells and a desk in the one room building. I think you have the inside mapped out well. We all know that our beloved LEGO buildings never have the necessary rooms. Good job.

While I don't know the answer to your question I do have to disagree with your statement. While I won't argue that police and fire stations and police cars and fire trucks greatly appeal to boys, as do cars in general. That doesn't mean that the aforementioned wouldn't appeal to girls as well.
-
There's a part of that disagrees with the whole 'marketing to boys' shtick. I gave seen plenty of LEGO commercials, and I don't even see kids in them. Not even in the Friends commercials. Sure, they said boys in the 'target audience' part of the objectives, but that's not a lie. So, saying they market(which is after all advertising) is towards boys, I'd say that's false.

That's a great house. I also really like the desolate landscape. It gives me an impression of the wizards demeanor. The roof looks great with the tiles. The chimney and tree are so very cool.

Man...some of you have a strong opinion of LotR. All on a few pictures, too. I'm sure the fuel for that fire is simply a love for LotR. There's no idea on how the build will be or the figs/accessories youth raving about. What if those figs and/or accessories are-gasp!- from China. Are you going to come on here and make a stink about it? I'd like to vote let's wait til they come out to revisit this question. And, I'm not hating on LotR. I'm quite excited about it as well. It certainly looks like it's going to be good. They do have some great figs as well, but so did Kingdoms. The king in 7188, the civilians in 7189. The noble in the advent calendar, just to name a few, are excellent figs.

I was just at TRU...no Marvel. Maybe I'll check Target tomorrow.

MOC: 1940s Trams in Stureplan (Stockholm, Sweden)
Vindicare replied to Skrytsson's topic in LEGO Train Tech
You make me want to hop on a plane to see your other creations. You are a great builder and I'd love to see them. This creation is no different. The awning(whatever it's actually called) is great. The trams and railways are nice.the added lines above and the whatever it's called, I'm having a bit of a brainfart right now, above the tram is a nice plus that you don't normally see. Great job. -
[LDD[ StarCraft micro models - Arclite and Crucio siege tanks
Vindicare replied to The Mugbearer's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I love that video and your tanks. They're looking good and the transformation is a plus. Now to see these in the brick. -
I can't honestly answer this until I build and have LotR sets in hand. See the new parts/colors that will come out of the theme. New minifigs and accessories. Sure, we know what the sets will look like, but we don't know how they break down. For now, I'll compare them to Kingdoms. I completely prefer Castle to LotR.

Architecture Contest: Matsumoto Castle
Vindicare replied to Blake Baer's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, great job! When I saw the real thing I was thinking there's no way to get that roofing. But, I was quite mistaken. You did a really nice job recreating the roof, as well as the rest of building. -
Bah, I see. I still don't think it's much of a surprise, is it? Of course the target audience is going to be young boys. Ask 5-11 year olds what they want to be when they grow up. I'd bet 90% will say fireman or policeman. Then there's cars, which, surprise! boys like to play with cars. I don't think it was wise to put that in the objectives. It may very well turn some girls away from entering. I think, for the most part, people are really overreacting to LEGOs marketing strategy. All those groups making that stink about Friends. Of course they're going to market to boys because I'm sure their research has shown that boys buy LEGO compared to girls.

This is a brilliant Room of Requirement! I love all the clutter scattered about and piled high. Great job.

That's a great idea. Both Thing and Juggernaut are both taller tan humans, but they don't have the mass or girth that the hulk has. I think a Hagrid sized fig would be perfect. Good suggestion!

I've seen these in TRU before. I've been tempted to get one of the castles. I like these, eBay has some interesting sets.

MOC: Holmes, Watson and Jack the Ripper!
Vindicare replied to Snowspeeder Pilot's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very cool! I enjoy reading books about Jack. For some reason, his case really intrigues me. I think it's the fact that it's unsolved. -
I see some celebrities in the audience, Snot and Snarl are in the house!
-
Very cool street! Your MOCs look great. The progressions are crazy. I like seeing the overhead shots to get a good look at the street layout. I probably have a dozen or so pictures saved so when the day comes where I rebuild my town, I have all kinds of ideas for a layout.

Ok. I read the link and I have no clue why this thread was made with that link? It never once mentions boys or girls. The only picture I saw was a flashing City minifig from the new mining sub theme. I must have missed something...all ireadwastheyre having some sort of stop motion competition...

I'm with Oky. I don't hate him, but I don't like him either. For me, he's just there.

That's great! This would be awesome! Have him sitting back in a chair, sipping coffee.
