I’ve only talked to a couple beyond the usual pleasantries, and they are more than just an employee. I have asked about having some things(and describing them) that was met with a quizzical expression. When the Halloween BaM stuff was showing up I called the store to ask about them & the employee had no idea what I was talking about. It’s definitely hit or miss.

They could give the illusion of it. Either make 12 set a stud back from the other buildings or just make it all even. In both cases have the other buildings just be 4 studs wide. That would be a bit weird though, for those(me) who would intend to put it among the Modulars in town. I hope we see more locations. While they didn’t get a ton of screen time, there’s some great places. As mentioned above, they could even be 18+ label.

I do. I do like the real world items that they release & have had my eye on the regular chess set for some time, just haven’t pulled the trigger. Getting a Wizard chess set is even better in my eyes. Plus, it’s all for display anyways as I don’t play chess. With all the new dogs lately, we better get Fang! Everything else you said, yes, yes yes. I think the biggest drawback of DH is what/how would they make sets of. There’s a few, like Shell Cottage or Lovegood House, that could make good sets. But would kids really clamoring for a wedding tent set? I’m not so sure. But yeah, I don’t the excuse one for second. Both a Second task & Shrieking Shack are must haves. Especially the Shack, that was a big moment in the series & that set is looooong overdue for a refresher. I’ve got Chess set & Fluffy ordered(along with Fawkes), so I’m keeping my fingers crossed until they get here that my cards are good ones.

[REVIEW] 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets
Vindicare replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’ve seen that movie countless times....and I’ve never noticed the hairpiece. Wow. What is the brown book though? I can’t place it. Oh, and Lockhart’s suit color is nougat. It’s not a color I have many of, but it was used a lot in 2020’s Luke’s Land speeder. I was thrown off when I saw the color in that set.- 12 replies

This is so weird. I suppose sheer curiosity would win out if I was all caught up on purchases. Definitely not for me. Interesting though.

After finishing up with Hogsmeade Village Visit, I ended up with 8 of 16. There’s 9 cards left in the seat I don’t have, so chances of getting a full set are very low(if only I had a vial of Felix Felicis). What a time though to be a fan of HP. Finally seeing H & R get the love it deserves & so many different toros in just a couple years. On top of of all the other goodness in new parts/prints.

I did really well, 4 of 6 , began & ended with Godric Gryffindor. McGonagall, silver Dumbledore, Maxime, & Bertie. It was a great build & minifg selection is awesome but I feel Justin should’ve came with medium legs.
-
Well, no Lockhart Frog Card with Lockhart minifg for me. McGonagall.

Well, two days after it should’ve been here, my tracking finally updated. It’s a day, maybe two, away from getting to me.
-
...well, possibly. I haven’t seen an update to my tracking since the 4th & since my “due date” has come & gone I contacted FedEx about it. They’re looking into it & said if I don’t see any movement from now until the 12th to contact whoever sold it(which would be S@H in this case). This is a first for me, even during the past year I didn’t even see a delay in shipping times. Has anyone ever had to contact LEGO about a lost order & what all did it entail?

I got a really weird one. When I was building 80107 Spring Lantern Festival instead of getting the third 1x3 white plate I got a trans clear mail box door...

Chinese New Years sets don't sell well
Vindicare replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know when I went to the LEGO store when they were released, there was quite a line. And a fair number of people have been waiting & watching for the sets, particularly Spring Lantern Festival, to be back in stock. Overstock could be an issue for some stores, then others can’t keep it in stock. I wish I could find those sets on sale. -
We all bought it for the minifigs. I think the bathroom is great, for the price it’s at. Plus, there isn’t much in the bathroom to replicate. The sink looks fantastic...and that’s pretty much all there is to the bathroom. Sure, it could’ve been a higher price tag & gotten a complete sink area & more stalls, but for what we got, it’s perfect. This is awesome. Kudos. Genius idea of using the tires as collars.

I keep seeing a bunch of wave 1 at Target as well. I’m really hoping they go on sale, because there’s some I really want. It there’s no way I’m paying $20 for them.

While I’m waiting for Chamber & Hogsmeade to leave the warehouse, I went & bought the Polyjuice set. What a great little build. The sink looks fantastic. Minifgs are, of course, amazing. We really are getting the best assortment we’ve ever seen. So happy to finally have Crabbe & Goyle, now Draco can properly harass the other students. I got Gryffindor & Ravenclaw cards. Can’t wait for my order with ten more! How are people going to display them? I’m thinking of just keeping it simple & putting them on an 8x8 plate.

Totally! Haven’t seen the Ecto-1 yet, but mine had the Mustang, London Bus & Aston Martin. They also had a few of the Elf Clubhouse too, which is kinda weird to see in the beginning of June... Having these sets in stores means the possibility of discounts too, so that’s nice. Even though I buy my high ticket sets($100+) at S@H for the points. The hunt is pretty fun. Even going to the LEGO store on day one for something is exciting, stumbling upon stuff in Target was something else. Seeing the Bookshop on a store shelf was kinda crazy.
-
Yeah, I was refreshing for 10 minutes last night, thinking maybe they were just getting around to it. But I didn’t want to possibly risk it anymore, so I clicked on. The only set revealed that wasn’t June 1st is Flying Lesson, which was always slated for August 1st.
-
Haha, yeah...my excitement at the prospect of finally getting a 1x1 clearly ruined my eyesight. The grooves on them are weird though. Those aren’t just plates stacked. It would be flush.

Advent Calendar has some fun stuff in there, but I’m really interested in that wall. Dudley better have a tail back there too! Ordered Hogsmeade & Chamber, excited to get all those new characters/prints. Especially the H & R robes!

76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets

Here in my area of the States it has boomed recently, especially since Toys R Us closed shop. It’s been the most noticeable at Target. Years ago our biggest revamped the toy section & completely stepped up their LEGO game. They even added a huge(not brick built sadly) of two kid minifigs on a slide. They started getting more & more exclusives. The Creator Expert cars. The Art sets & even lately...the Bookshop Modular. Even Barnes & Noble has greatly stepped up, adding a much bigger section & also getting exclusives, like Sesame Street & NES. The only one I haven’t seen any positive change is at Walmart.

[Opinion] Review of the new road plates system (2021)
Vindicare replied to The Lego Room's topic in LEGO Town
Just gotta grab them by the sides & all is well. I even pick them up two a time, for a short distance move, & it’s fine. Just give them a little squeeze to make sure they stay tight. I still don’t like these plates. Even though they’d mostly be covered by cars, the 2x4 tiles that connect them are way too distracting to me & make them look ugly. I don’t hate them as much as I did when I first heard about & then saw them...but I’m in no hurry to buy them. -
Yes! Something like the Winter Village Market minus the carousel would be neat. Maybe even a mix of food & carnival games. That’s what I really loved about the Fairground Mixer, it had a nice assortment. Either that or City needs to bring something like they did with the People Pack(and Accessories Pack).

They use the excuse of being “fantasy.” Take no military sets *cough* Osprey *cough* yet take a look at the Black Widow set...it contains a Chinook. Even in house does this. City Police had a Chinook as well(which makes the cancellation of the Hideout even more ridiculous).

The only reason I’m against it(too strong a term which I will go into) is because this was something they wouldn’t typically do. Now, I’m not against the set or the message, it just seems to go against their hot button type of material. If they changed that, great...they have every right to change as company. It just feels strange, considering past actions(that have been mentioned previously here). For what it’s worth, when I saw the leak I didn’t even connect the color organization, I just saw colors. I do plan on buying this, possibly on day one because I love bold, bright colors. I’d love to see them continue this with their full palette. With the messaging behind this set I don’t see that happening though. And that’s probably the biggest problem with this set, perspective. There’s people who love it for everything it is, some who love it for the set itself/parts, those who think it’s neat but not for them, and sadly, those who hate it simply for the messaging. And this set, being what it is, will undoubtedly get more outside hate(and love) due to being the first of it’s kind. And just to touch briefly on the Easter bunny(I know it’s moved on from here, but...) being synonymous with a Christian holiday doesn’t mean it’s Christian. There’s no Easter bunny or Santa Claus in those Bible stories. Those inclusions are a far cry from having a cross and nativity in any set for those holidays.
