  1. Doing business in China doesn’t happen without the approval of their gov’t(and not in the free market country sense). Look at how Disney bends over for China(Force Awakens poster concerning Boyega, banning Shang-Chi). People want LEGO to stop partnering with Activision over what some of its employees did. But the human rights abuses happening in China isn’t on their radar? I’m not criticizing the traditions, people, or stories of China. Im criticizing the picking & choosing of outrage over abuses. As I said above, teaming with China is different than teaming up with a company in America. So every employee who is or has worked there while this took place is to blame? Or is it just those involved? Gee, why would people pick China? It couldn’t be because of their noted human rights abuses? Camps where Uyghurs are being held? I have zero issue with sets being released there...just like I don’t have an issue with them releasing Overwatch sets.
  2. The cancellation is made even more hilarious by them catering to, and throwing money at, China. They have no problem releasing CNY sets & MK(which I’m glad they do). So I guess human slaves & concentration camps, among their other human rights violations, are okay....but a few folks at a company do wrong & the whole theme is on the chopping block. Wow.
  3. Yep...it sucks not seeing these on store shelves. I’m just glad to finally see this theme in the catalog! It’s a step in the right direction. I was very shocked to see the price of City of Lanterns. When I first saw it I expected a way higher price & was bummed...but then I saw the price. After questioning whether it was a typo far too long it showed up on S@H with that price & I was overjoyed.
  4. I just finished with mine. It really was a very enjoyable build. Both big & small details are great & I love the dark red/sand blue color combo on the Lotus Hotel. I can definitely see some Ninjago City influences as well. If you recall, did you have three extra pearl gold 1x1 round plates left over? I haven’t gone back over the set to see if I missed two, but thought I’d ask here first.
  5. With the great mechs they’ve been releasing(D.Va & Reinhardt, Ninjago Titans) I would love to see a Gundam theme. They’ve given us a taste of it with the Ninjago ones. It would be great to see different mechs from across the different iterations.
  6. Ooh, yeah...those angles would be tricky. The best way I can think of is using those quarter circle tiles but the edges obvious wouldn’t be smooth. There’s those triangle tiles(2x2 “cut” at a slant) but are really too big...
  7. Excellent! Dove in head first, joining a LUG and that first visit to a LEGO store.
  8. Anything. Literally anything. I just want more expansions. @GeneralNumberOne In the first book of instructions for Ninjago City there’s the alphabet & numbers.
  9. Just finished building it. It was a very fun build. A lot of cool interior details & technique to make the slanted wall was neat. Even got a few new color spares to add to the palette plate.
  10. 10297 Boutique Hotel 60236 Picnic in the Park 80036 City of Lanterns
  11. Yeah man, I love the occasional bigfig. Some characters have to be bigfigs, like Hulk. Finally got my hands on Sandy & he’s great. And speaking of the Hulk, shave off that mohawk & we have a pretty good Maestro.
  12. This is me as well. I prefer the store because this is a set I want in hand ASAP. A fiend & I were gonna go to a different store because we heard the BaM & Wall are fully open. But since were unsure of the line situation we decided to stick to our usual route. Our line doesn’t really start forming until about 45 mins before opening.
  13. That’s what I meant by exposure. There hasn’t been a thing about them in the last few catalogs & they don’t even sell them in their own stores over here. The only avenue is online. My hope was that they would show up in Target as they get exclusive sets now. But if they pulled them from stores, I don’t see that happening anymore. I can only guess the first wave(which I did see in stores) didn’t sell as well as they hoped to keep the shelf space. As much as the rest of the world clamored for the CNY sets(even though they are very different) they have to know the interest is there.
  14. Sound great....where did you see these? I checked leaks hashtag & nothing.
  15. Just built Sandy’s Power Loader Mech. Another fantastic set & build from this theme. It’s such a shame this theme isn’t getting the exposure it deserves.
  16. All of the printed parts are great but those two are the definite standouts. I concur on keeping this build style goin You’re right, that other franchise has a much deeper roster of characters that would be better suited a CMF series(or more).
  17. Must’ve been oatmeal... Maybe that’s why he’s doing such a shoddy job.
  18. I’m more excited for parts than the sets, although the park set with the yellow(!!!!!) bike & lifeguard beach set are definite buys. Finally get the yellow bike...one set in 1998. Now I just need the dark pink to have all colors. The kittens are fantastic! Ever since the dark grey cat showed up as a BaM exclusive, my love for the cat has grown. Great new torso prints & hairpieces as well. And of course the squirrels. Once the sets come up on B&P it’s gonna be a pricey order.
  19. 10270 Bookshop was set in the fall. The tree had yellow leaves, there was a few on the ground & the kid had a scarf & beanie on. While play features don’t do much for me I really did(and do) enjoy those aspects of the sets. It added quite a bit to both sets, despite putting into question Ace Brickman’s detecting skills...
  20. 60309 Selfie Stunt Bike- wanted to check these out. When I saw his faceprint & new hairpiece(one of my favorites) I knew this was the one for me.
  21. I agree completely. I always love reading these reviews for those same reasons.
  22. I heard from a friend of my cousins brothers girlfriends neighbor that it will come tomorrow.
  23. I beg to differ...releasing a set with that piece would only “hurt” their brand in the eyes of people who would be mad over the tile...otherwise why not release it? Clearly it went through many stages of development & was probably weeks away from being given out.
  24. What a hodge podge mess. A beautiful mess. I love all the different styles smushed together & made into a cohesive building. Great interior details & rock work as well.
  25. They couldn’t have possibly canceled that set because of a list & face print? Have we really become that soft as a society...the Naughty List has always been around.
