Yup. 3438 McDonalds Restaurant, 1999. Rinky dink building that served as a drive thru with one table & chairs.

TLG beat ya to it. There is one in the Shrieking Shack. Different printing naturally.

If nothing else, whenever the new BaM comes our way online, you should be able to grab her that way. In the few examples I’ve seen they even years old parts that I haven’t seen in ages at stores.

I won’t demean you for your opinion like some have(who ironically play the victim when theirs is questioned) but I’m not sure why either of these bother you. Even if you’re looking at this from a kids perspective, which you referred to, I don’t imagine kids would be confused by a pink haired woman, nor assume it’s a natural hair color. Same goes for neutral torsos. Especially so as an adult. As others have mentioned, minifigs are meant to be interchangeable. If a set’s minifig isn’t to your liking, switch it up in a way that does. Set wise, I don’t like switching stuff around, so maybe you’re that way too.

You’re not alone...maybe we can hope for a Groupon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s priced as good as City of Lanterns is.
-
It’s what kept me away from most of the minifigs I wanted, which was most of them. I finally managed to get the Alien DJ from a LEGO store a few months back for $12.99. I still regret buying the HipHop Robot for regular price but knew I was gonna get the car(which I got from the same sale as the Beatbox) eventually, I wanted to complete the group.

I assume it’s the same part that is in the set? If so that’s cool & odd(or maybe not, this is the first time I’ve heard of this happening) that a new part has shown up in this fashion.

The Lego Movie 2 played into this. There’s the 7 systems & a visit to Planet Duplo. Going back to the Ninjago City Gardens talked about briefly...the Ice Planet team is known about in Ninjago(perhaps the owner of the parlor is a former team member). And we have M-Tron, Blacktron & Fabuland shirts in both Ninjago & Bricksburg. Sure, it’s likely it’s a just fun nod to classic themes, but it’s way more fun to connect them in this way. Sidebar, the double decker couch was spotted in the warehouse that houses the Ninja’s mechs...so even that is connected.

REVIEW: 80036 The City of Lanterns
Vindicare replied to Pchan1983's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You forgot the biggest pro...the price! When it first leaked I thought for sure it would be $200 or more. This is definitely the set of all sets within this theme. I agree with everything you said here.- 2 replies

We can’t know this though. A lack of licensed themes doesn’t guarantee we’d see those Classic themes return, which I would enjoy as well. We’ve gotten many in house themes, particularly of the action variety, since licensed themes came on the scene. We could’ve just as easily gotten a Classic wave instead of any number of themes we did get, but LEGO didn’t give it to us & only they know why.

Nicely done. I’ve closed off a building or two myself, just pretty much repeating what the set is. It’s a good starting point for MOCing that lets you do your own thing with a head start.

Yeah, I found some old parts on my last visit. A few were accessories, a couple of the 1x2 phones with Jay’s selfie on it from the Ninjago series & one of the tarot cards from the gypsy CMF. Saw a few of the Halloween. Exclusive torso & cat face paint print as well.

I was finally able to order all the kittens in one go in mid Feb. Before that, only one was stock. And I checked a few times after getting the picnic set...no grey squirrels(and completely forgot to check when ordering kittens). This double service fee pushed me into getting the parts to make a fourth train car for the Hogwarts Express(newest) though. Had three & felt that was the ‘right’ amount but then I figured since there’s 4 houses, may as well have 4 cars.

Ugh...I’m dying a little inside. Last week I bought a dark pink bike(finally). It was the only color I didn’t have thanks to the rerelease of the yellow one this year. It showed up today & the delivery process did a real number on the box....and my Nike. One of the handles is bent backwards pretty bad. I’m waiting to see what the seller says but I’ll be buying another unless I can fix this one. Any tips on fixing? I was thinking to heat it up a bit & bend it back into place.

A friend sent it to me from a “professor_brickman” on Instagram. As to your Grimmauld Place, yes, yes, yes! I’ve been been saying that for awhile now. The Sanctum is a great set that would translate well to GP. They’ll have it open backed, so that could dedicate more parts to the exterior, interior, or both. -

This rumor about Gringotts has me a bit puzzled. Two buildings & a dragon. That means a few options are possible. The second building is Leaky Cauldron & both buildings are 32x32’s. Or they stuck with the 16x32 & we’re getting another shop. Because Gringotts couldn’t(shouldn’t) be a 32x32 & the second shop be a 16x32 because then we’d have a gap on one side, in the preferred layout. -
Service fees are fine, we had them before the change. It’s the double service fee though. I just want to buy parts & have them ship together. Now I’ll have to pay $7 or so more & wait for two orders that should be one. Just frustrating a bit. I am making a mountain out of a molehill here, albeit a very small mountain, as I don’t order a lot or often from B&P, but this change may cause me to look elsewhere.

Yes, don’t like it. If people can’t separate the art from the artist, that’s on them. The people who can shouldn’t be punished by losing a theme we enjoy. The franchise didn’t say those things & they aren’t apart of any character within it.
-
Finally had a good look around & put a list of parts together. One thing I really like is that it saves the list even if you close the window. Now....to the bad...the service fee & the separate parts sections. I have a total of $18 worth of parts, which means I’d have to spend nearly half of that in service fees. Getting hit twice because some are best sellers. Pretty scummy for someone like me. I don’t do much MOCing, just some detail stuff for my town so anytime I’ve ordered from B&P it’s never been a very large amount.

I love it. People want something gone because they don’t like it. Should LEGO stop making Chinese New Year sets because it conjures up thoughts of what China does to it’s people? Or close the factory in China...woo boy, just think of all the money they gubernatorial to China for that place.
-
While we’re in a completely different area....but I went to the same store a month apart. First trip they didn’t have new parts, including the minifig you mentioned, but did the next. Have hope! It’s a very neat print.

Social media has really dumbed things down across the board. I certainly enjoy it because I’ve met some really cool people through it. But too many are focused on views & likes & that “have to be first” mindset. Not bad...but unnecessary & attention seeking to me. But I get it for those whose income is social media related. I don’t have a problem with showpieces. Most of the sets I buy are just display pieces, whether they go on a shelf or into my town(that’s sorta playing I suppose). My problem is the showpieces are pretty much always huge expensive sets. Yes, yes...I don’t have to buy them all, but I’d like to. When LEGO pumps out so many, it’s impossible to keep up. Its just a different time...

To the D2C talk & whether it was intentional or not, but since we AFOL’s love patterns...the first D2C was a display model, second was a playset, third was a display model. IF that is an actual thing, we should be seeing a playset this year. I’d rather it not be a $470 one that includes Gringotts...but I’ll get it if I have to. After building the Trunk set I’m a bigger fan than I was. It’s basically a People Pack(R.I.P.) in HP form. A little expensive but chock full of goodies. Has some great parts, another Quibbler tile, a third(!) Marauders Map, Bertie Botts, polyjuice potion cup, cauldron. Rare minifig parts, pre sorted uniform & a few hair pieces. And of course, the heads. Great for those of us making full Quidditch teams.
