  1. Useless question: is there gonna be a new PF winch brick somewhere in the crawler crane (with the spool in the center of the brick), is it gonna be the old one, or is there a separate crank mechanism that can be motorized and the spool is a regular Technic rim?
  2. Alright... ____ it, I'm doing a LEGO Top Gear thing myself: And that's how one Richard Hammond came to be.
  3. You peeps have been talking new pneumatics and no one wants to speculate about NEW STRINGS! Well... *goes back to empty corner*
  4. Yeah, it's a bummer about the McLaren having just one road car to show, but I guess there were two 911's because the 911 racers have quite the cachet with car nuts, and has proven to be an amazing competitor in races where they appear (not that the 12C GT3 isn't a good race car). Sure, some can say that 911's are identical, but TLG had a good eye, though, and found the differences between the 997 RSR (three holes in front bumper, canards flanking L and R, quite obvious front splitter) and the 991 RSR (smooth bumper with only yellow circle bits, with just one rectangular hole in front) and translated it properly. The orange one's a hybrid that raced in the Nurburgring and the white one has been dancing in Daytona and Le Mans since 2014. Unless those bits are in the instructions, no one would know them, and all they'd see as a difference is that one of them is labeled a hybrid and is part orange.
  5. No _______ way. Just, no _______ way. It must sound like an army in battle. Cars...LEGO, cars in LEGO... possible Top Gear sub-line in LEGO...well, why not? I think this theme will last as long as there are awesome cars worth recreating, as long as there is F1, GT2 and GTE, Le Mans, and as long as there are manufacturers making supercars and want profit in more ways than one *stares at Ferrari*. And of course, UCS models. That 1-2 punch can do it absolutely.
  6. Eurobricks Marketing Win of the Year, judging from that tagline.Oh, wait. *looks at Speed Champions theme, then to self*
  7. Those are still Nice Prices, right? OK, did some currency conversion from US$... the single car sets might hover at Php 700 at least. NP. 75912 (I want that) begins at Php2400. Of course, import fees and a few other niggles like sudden oil price blast-offs aren't part of the equation, but if 75913 is just Php4k converted... Nice Prices indeed.Although...wait. Those prices seem to be a tad too low. Or maybe it's just to pull in customers?
  8. And not just any kind of suspension, if TLG can do it. It could be just the kind that'd make quite a lot of other builds that need a certain amount of travel work and work brilliantly.
  9. Ace work, actually. Could be NPU of the year.
  10. Actually, that's not too bad. I think the smaller sets should go for $20-25 in US. Which is about Php900 here in the Philippines. Nice Price.Though that'd mean the truck would go for Php5k. *gulp* While I think they're gonna do the Veyron in Fig-scale, I think the McLaren F1 will be Advanced Models, quite like the Adv. Mod. F40.
  11. You know, chaps, I'd rather have the fire plane. You've been talking about the Arocs truck for so long you're burying the other sets. Seriously, though: The crawler crane will the dark horse for 2H.
  12. And it should come with a new, better version of that old wheel bearing with springs.
  13. Screw the Oscars. TLM has to be part of the Archives. But at the same time, the white gramps over 50 think TLM is the longest advertisement for a toy for kids over 3 in the history of man, and should never be nominated with that reason in mind. Yeah. I think I've just seen the line of thinking the gramps had. Easy to see they have matured very well, indeed. I'd rather have James May do the nominations.
  14. You people are gonna have a field day doing stuff after you watch this clip: And who here thinks that the James May fig looked like he came from his first appearance on TG apart from the outfit? I mean, it made Hammond look like the older bloke (then again, Hammond looks too old for his age).
  15. Chaps...you didn't even ring me in the middle of the night here in Manila just to tell me about that clip. Now if only Ferrari was kind enough to let Mr. Slowly review the LaFerrari... and for a special roadtrip with all three hypercars! Also...shouldn't Hammond use the kiddie-fig legs? Or is it just for locomotion? Oh, and the video was made by the same crew that made the Exo-Suit reveal teaser. Easy to see Hammond didn't get the call for the dubbing. Does this also mean that we'll get an unlimited supply of Stigs?
  16. Wait a mi--a Huayra! Oh, why not?
  17. Hmmm...since much of the fenders of the current models are two studs thick from the tip of the wheel arch, I guess they can make the cutouts and spaces at the rear one stud wide and use some clever angled connections with 1x3 tiles for dem buttresses, such that they can match the angle of 1x3 wing plates. The rear vent can basically be SNOT-mounted printed 1x2 wall panel. The front can be made with just 1x2 single bows. As for the windshield, a new part would suffice, one that can match midway between the lines of the Ford GT and the R35 GT-R's windshield, and then coupled with bows or curved roofing toward the back.Frankly, this would turn out better as a Team Jamie UCS model.
  18. No way, my liege. I love it. I seriously thought the wheel arches are made of paper the first time I saw it, though. What a technique to make 'em.
  19. NEW FORD GT COMING TO SPEED CHAMPIONS CONFIRMED!!!!!!11!1!!!1!!!!!11!11!!!!!! (actually, no. Not yet. Not maybe until the first Ford GT rolls off the production lot). Seriously, though, they're gonna have a hard time getting some design cues to work there and become something they can replicate in 6W properly. I mean, just check these out: The 2006 Ford GT is far easier to do. And let's not forget the fact that they're gonna race in TUSC and Le Mans next year, so expect a truck or diorama set for the race version!
  20. Hmmm...I seem to have seen them in the 918 and the single-seaters...but at the same time I still think they're 2x3 rounded corners.
  21. 30% on yellow and 30% on orange.
  22. But where will it go? The lower part of the bumper is made of wing parts, and the upper is a 2x4 bow. That's it. OK, I get it now. That's pretty nifty.
  23. Alright boys and girls, here are more pictures (from Allen Tran and TLG), with captions on the side: There's the connection for the wheels. And about those wheels: Are those brake rotors on the wheels? Are those tires skinny? The nose has a one-plate high separation, just like the real nose. That's one point. Why is the man driving NOT James May? WHY? WHY?! What have you done? Apparently that little bar in front is attached by friction... Those BBS-esque rims... aren't molded in one piece, but as hubcaps! Woot! The angle is pretty unflattering for the model, though. If this was black...BAM! Jeremy Clarkson P1 review. Can someone 'shoop that pic to make the model black? Actually, I can still spot some cutouts on the side, though I think the black part has to be a stud deeper. I want that dashboard print/sticker. It just struck me now: McLaren's livery plain sucked. It's just so uninspired. Hopefully it changes this year, because Honda's main colors are red and white, right? They can still do a legendary livery even without Marlboro. This is a well-constructed scene, though. Seriously. The front wings are two studs too short. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...look at dat nose. It's a good thing they haven't gotten the Lotus one yet. Oh, the jokes we'll have here on EB when it happens. This pic looks like Hammond's review of the 918 in Yas Marina. Lower part of the bumper would have been nicer. there's only a 5x3 space at both sides...so cramming all those lines while keeping the silhouette and look is gonna be hard. Hopefully you can get a top on that thing. All you have to do is take the helmet off. WHY IS SABINE SCHMITZ TAKING PICTURES AND NOT DRIVING?!With that out of the way, I guess I can just replace the heads of one of the drivers. The real 991 RSR's bumper is hella smooth. There has to be another layer of black bows under the white bows of the Manthey 991 RSR (white) model. Incredible...I thought the 911's here wouldn't look like those extra-wide RSR cars IRL. The way they shaped the sides is giving the much-need width that 911 racers naturally possess. Again, BBS rims...now worn by the correct car! I'm impressed the white Porshe's livery. This and their LMP1 car, the 919, has the most original and well-done liveries around. Much better a livery than the McLaren. And there you have it! More pictures, more opinions... Aagh. I should have made another sub-topic, bit oh well.
  24. My teddy bears are gonna ride that.
