'Glass' in Technic Models
Tommy Styrvoky replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you want plastistruct makes sheets of transparent acrylic in different thicknesses, the acrylic could easily be cut to proper shape, and it could be bonded to lego pieces with a modeling cement. -
I feel like there was a lot of entries at the beginning, but quite a few people lost interest in their models, there could have been even more entries that what will be in the contest. I hope to see more great entries.

Which is stronger?
Tommy Styrvoky replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What are you planning to build ? if you support the axle and keep axles in short lengths, it should work, as I have never had XLs directly twist axles, but I have had them bend 5.5 axles on sprockets. -
Which is stronger?
Tommy Styrvoky replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
the option of using 2 long axles will be stronger, as they are less likely to torsionally twist because of a shorter length axles. maybe 3 long axles may work better, as it will require less connectors and lacks the notches as mentioned above. -
great video, it seems to cover the basics of suspension building, even though nearly every vehicle uses a different type ( though most vehicles post WWII use torsion bars) . The dual torsion bar setup is interesting, but I think panthers used singular full hull length torsion bars, cool concept though, I wonder if it is possible to make it even more compact.

You may want to use something else besides the universal joints for transferring power to the front wheels, it will break or come apart.

[Help] Lsynth Technic tread

I figured out I can hide the Lsynth constraints just like normal bricks in Bricksmith -
[Help] Lsynth Technic tread
Tommy Styrvoky replied to Tommy Styrvoky's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I am using it on Mac... How can I make them invisible ? This is one of my first times using Lsynth -
I am working on a model in Bricksmith, and I have attempted using Lsynth. Though I am uncertain how to make the treads fit around the 6 wide inverted radar dishes, and the 4x4 round plate on the rear idler, as there isn't a constraint for it. Is this just not possible, or will I have to place each tread individually ? Lego Jagdpanzer 38(T) Hetzer (RC) by Tommy Styrvoky, on Flickr
