My guess is that with the Mini, F40 and both VWs still widely available (and possibly still in production) and the VW Van recently getting a new push (lots of stores in Oz recently started stocking the VW Van despite it being 5+ years old at this point) there is no room in the lineup for a new Creator car. I do wonder why some Creator Expert sets (the VW Van, Tower Bridge and maybe the Palace Cinema being notable examples) seem to hang around so long...

21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)
jonwil replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
FYI, for those in QLD looking to head to Dreamworld on Thursday to pick up a Saturn V, you should be there as early as possible (I intend to be there at opening most likely) -

That post was on the 18th of May and the report I saw about the delay was dated to Yesterday so its highly likely that Toy Corner has also received such a notice in the time since they posted that post on Facebook... -

Apparently at least one independent retailer in Australia has been told that they wont be getting any supply of the Saturn V until July. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
jonwil replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I haven't seen anything other than rumors about Batman Series 2 unless LEGO or Warner have said something somewhere and I missed it. I seriously doubt LEGO would be giving their competitors a heads up on whats comming so early in the piece by announcing Batman Series 2 so far in advance. -
I own the blue police Lamborghini and wish I had been able to get the yellow Lamborghini. I would buy any Lamborghini set LEGO produced in a heartbeat (regardless of size/scale)

IMO the last good creator house was the 31012 Family House in 2013 although the Bike Shop & Cafe in 2014 was pretty good as well. All of the buildings since then (including the ones this year) just don't do it for me. Not big enough and not enough basic bricks and building parts (too many little fiddly useless detail parts)

I would love to see some stuff done in the cyberpunk genere. There is a rather nice TRON light cycle currently in review on LEGO Ideas which I would love to see as a set (but I doubt it will be approved given Disney has basically abandoned the TRON universe) I would buy anything TLG produced that was Cyberpunk in a heartbeat. (and not all Cyberpunk works are dark and gritty and violent and inappropriate for TLG, TRON is considered cyberpunk and that got a PG rating so its definatly OK for kids)

I would love that part in more colors, I have a number of uses for it, none of which work in yellow :)

The cows had the 1 x 2 hole and humans never ride cows (except bulls in a rodeo and I dont think TLG had that in mind)

Went to the Dreamworld store today, no sign of any Saturn V or anywhere where the Saturn V could have been (shelf space, shelf tickets, whatever) and the staff didn't have any knowledge of having any previous stock or any date for future stock before the first of June. -

And now we have someone over on reddit posting this from a LEGO store in Bilund showing its available there too. -

Got a report from another forum that apparently someone in a local LUG here in QLD had found the Saturn V at the Dreamworld LEGO store (there are supposedly photos of this sighting on Facebook but since I dont use Facebook, I haven't verified that claim). The report I saw on the other forum said "Sold out, but apparently more stock in the next few days." (the report was posted was mid-morning on Saturday QLD time). -
I wish LEGO would make a heard with a beard and sunglasses. Something similar to https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb1134 or https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb0267 but with sunglasses similar to https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb1182 or https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb1179

Hopefully TLG do sell the big cats on Bricks & Pieces (I dont believe either the Cows or Bears have been for sale on B&P, have any other large animals been for sale on B&P?)

A part that was the inverse of the 1 x 1 tile with clip (i.e. it had a stud instead of a stud receptacle) would be very very useful to me.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

90% of the time it was immediately obvious from the thumbnail whether or not the part was something I cared about so it was fairly easy to do what I did :) -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
jonwil replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
How do you guys do all the searching on Bricks & Pieces for parts? The way I do it is that I went through all the parts under http://brickset.com/browse/parts (which presumably covers every part in the database) and made a list of all the parts I wanted (just under 350 on the list as of right now) then when I want to order I take the list and figure out what items are actually for sale right now. A little check to make sure they aren't obscenely expensive compared to Bricklink then I start narrowing it down to the specific set of parts I want to order at that point. The "Date Added" section on BL is how I keep track of anything new in the database since I wrote my list (make sure I update the list with anything new that I want) -
Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
jonwil replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Yep, they are definitely available now. I spotted some today in a few different stores. K-Mart seems to be a god place to try (a few reports that they have stock plus their price is apparently good) I picked mine up from the MYER store at Carindale on Sunday after someone reported that said MYER store had broken the street date and put a box out on the shelf :) -
Looking over that flickr account makes me so jealous... I am especially jealous over the clips with stud (I have so many uses for those in so many MOCs), the yellow octagonal cross pieces, the trans-yellow whip antennae and of course all the other cool trans parts he has acquired :)

I concur that the Detective's Office would be the best pick for a modular if you want something that fits with the Spider-Man Bridge. It definitely has that "New York" feel about it IMO.

jonwil replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I cant be 100% sure whether the sets included them or not but Bricklink doesn't show extras for either the Jack Sparrow Voodoo Doll printed trophy in the QAR or the Avengers printed trophies from the Helicarrier. So it seems like you don't get extras of the printed trophies , only the non-printed ones. -
What parts do I need to motorize an Emerald Night?
jonwil replied to jonwil's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have made the cylinder improvements as well as removing most of the gear train so it should run fairly smoothly without binding up. Of course it wont run at all until I finish rebuilding it from a 4-6-2 into a QR PB15 class 4-6-0 :) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
jonwil replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Someone on another forum said they saw Series 17 in a MYER store in Brisbane (didn't say which one) so for anyone in Oz, your local MYER is the place to look at this point.- 1,421 replies
