Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
jonwil replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I also need to stop buying LEGO and start doing more building :) -
I tried it but I discovered that the stud on a headlight brick sticks out further than the edge of the brick itself and since I have headlight bricks that butt up against other bricks (in particular the back-to-back headlight bricks on the top level) that wasn't going to work.

For some reason this makes me think of a level from an old platform game, it has that vibe to it. Great MOC.

Mars Mission was nowhere near as good as Life on Mars (in no small part due to those ugly trans-green aliens). Galaxy squad was just crap all around. Alien Conquest was what I was talking about under "half-decent" (its the only recent Space theme I have actually bought from although I came close to buying the big Space Police base just for parts)
-
I agree with the suggestion that Star Wars needs to either change or go away. Star Wars is the reason we haven't had a half-decent Space theme in about a decade and a genuinely GOOD space theme in more than 2 decades. Come on LEGO, give me a ship that is as awesome as ships like the legendary Deep Freeze Defender and I will buy it day one and I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this way.

Here is my attempt at building the AT&T Long Lines building in New York (also known as 33 Thomas Street). Its intended to be in a scale somewhat matching the New York City skyline set but its probably a bit big (had to be that big to capture the detail) https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMLToAO-9NcbcWXx4pLRwKgjdA-77dRWC_DWm2JrTzUvuLCBm3pmF41ipU3lhs7Sg?key=Yl9XazZieFFNUnRCdmlaRXctMms2WDNXNWZLdVN3 Anyone with suggestions, feedback etc please let me know.

Is LEGO making way too many vehicles?
jonwil replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wish they would return to the creator houses of old. Sets like the Model Town House and the Family Home and the Hillside House and the Family House are some of the best Creator 3-in-1 sets they have done IMO. -
There are so many famous iconic buildings (and ones that would sell if done in LEGO) on this planet that they don't need to go back and redo the White House. How about something new like the Jefferson Memorial?
-
I think the new Cyberpunk-esque Ninjago stuff (with those arcade cabinets and the gamers market and stuff) are a breath of fresh air for the theme. I do agree there is too much focus on vehicles. But at the same time, vehicles are what sell (and what kids want) so LEGO keeps making them.

How many mayors have big mansions? All the mayors in Australia will just live in the same house they have always lived in (it doesn't change just because they get elected in the way it does for other leaders like the prime minister of Australia or the president of the USA or the line). I have certainly never heard of any city where they have a specific residence for the mayor (although no doubt there are mayors like Bloomberg in NYC rich enough to buy their own mansion to live in)

Ok so I have contacted LEGO customer service via chat about the 2 missing birthday clown heads which they will reship. And they advised me that I can keep the replacement order should it show up (they did say the parts had been shipped) So its all good. I have the LEGO I need to continue working on my project for the next show, I will be getting the birthday clown heads comming my way shortly and I also have a second complete set of parts that is likely to come to me and that I get to keep if it does. -

Its entirely possible they ship them in bulk to different destinations (e.g. a bulk lot shipped to Australia) and then get processed and shipped off with the local post. Would make sense and would save LEGO some money in shipping. In other news, the order that was placed by LEGO to replace the order that went missing (but actually showed up yesterday) has now shipped. (obviously it shipped before LEGO customer service was able to see the message that the first order showed up) What do I do if/when that second order arrives? Ok checking that order online it says "shipped/canceled", not sure what that means. -

Loot shot of the haul I got This is 1 of everything in my order except some parts I used for finishing my Steamboat Willie and some parts I used for finishing my New York Skyline set (I already put them in the sets before I remembered to take a loot shot and I obviously don't want to disassemble those items just to take some photos :). Also I already applied stickers (bought from a Bricklink seller who didn't have the right parts to apply the stickers to in their store) to 3 of the parts (the blue window glass and the 2 tiles below it) You can see the mask head I referred to in my previous messages just below the vet clinic glass. Some nice loot in any case (useful torsos and heads and legs, some nice figure accessories and headgear, a couple animals and other things for my zoo and a few other neat things. The head you can't see is the head from the Lester figure) -

Found it, its head 6176018 from the 2017 police line. Somehow I ended up with 4 of those instead of 2 of the birthday clown head I actually ordered (and that is listed on the packing slip) -

Just checked my order that arrived and they missed a pair of heads (part number 6294697 from the birthday clown) and instead sent me 4 of a completly different head I didn't order (a female head of some kind with a mask covering the eye holes). So now I need them to cancel one order (the replacement order for the one that came today) and send another order with the 2 heads in question :) -

My missing order showed up (it was waiting for me when I got home after seeing Sonic) and I just contacted LEGO to let them know (so they can cancel the not-yet-shipped replacement order) It wouldn't surprise me if all the rain we have had here in Australia recently caused some delays -
The parts in that last picture are not LEGO.
-
Now I see how its all held together. The secret I was missing to make it perfect was the use of the 1x1 brick with hole and the 1x2 jumper plates. Now mine is a direct copy of yours and will be even more stable than it was before :) It will look good alongside the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building from the skyline set as well as the AT&T Long Lines building (which I am going to build as soon as my dark tan headlight bricks get here :). I may nor may not be using the Flatiron building from the skyline set as well (will depend on available space and whether I think its big enough to work and be seen)

I wonder what happens if my original parcel (which could easily have been delayed because of the deluge of rain we have gotten in Oz over the past few weeks) shows up, will LEGO ask me to send back the second repeat order? -

If the powers that be have previously said that yes the goat can come back (but it wasn't able to be done in time) then yeah maybe it can come back. Its just a question of whether the mold is still usable or whether they would need a new one. -

I seriously doubt LEGO is going to bring back a part last used in 2011 just for an Ideas set. Especially not a part that is 100% not essential to the set. (they didn't do it for Steamboat Willie and the goat is a central character in that film) -

LEGO responded to me and are re-sending my missing order (since they have no way to figure out what happened to my original order)
