I think its time I made a B&P order :) Although knowing how long it takes me to figure out what I want and place a B&P order, all this stuff will probably either sell out or (more likely) get taken down before I can get the order done...
  2. More Lambos please (I want the Countach as seen in the opening to Cannonball Run :)
  3. Visited the local LEGO store again today. Last time I was there (probably a few weeks ago I think) the build-a-fig bins were open again but now they have closed them again. Makes sense though given that when I saw them open, everyone (especially kids but also adults) was totally ignoring the rules and weren't using sanitizer and gloves (even though the signs clearly said they were required to do that)
  4. If that logo tile appears for sale on Bricks & Pieces (which it might well do given that the piano isn't a licensed set) I predict it will be VERY popular :)
  5. Bender uses booze as fuel in the same way a Transformer uses Energon or the vehicles in LEGO City use Octan petrol.
  6. If you can find an actual working playable good sounding piano (as opposed to a keyboard or something else electric) for less than the cost of the LEGO Piano I would be very surprised.
  7. My top 10 most wanted licenses (that have never seen a LEGO product before and that would be a suitable brand fit and aren't owned by or licensed to some other toy company) in no particular order: 1.Looney Tunes (such a vast universe to draw on) 2.The Lion King 3.Fantastic Four (we have Marvel but not Fantastic Four at all, I want a Thing bigfig to go with my Hulk bigfig) 4.Donkey Kong Country 5.The Jetsons 6.Inspector Gadget 7.Codename Kids Next Door 8.Tintin 9.Locke & Key (they did Stranger Things and there isn't anything in Locke & Key that is worse so I dont see a brand-fit problem) 10.Anything that qualifies as Cyberpunk (there must be something that's both really cool AND a suitable brand-fit for LEGO) Honorable mention to TRON (if they did more sets to go with the light cycles I would LOVE it)
  8. This was Indooropilly in Brisbane. The sets were on the K-Mart website but have since vanished.
  9. I seriously doubt Sesame Street is going to launch now given the Piano is the next Ideas set and they don't tend to release Ideas sets that close together. Plus if it WAS going to release soon they would have announced it by now.
  10. Spotted a bunch of the Mario stuff (including the starter pack) at a K-Mart here in Australia. Grabbed the Paragoomba, Bob-Omb, Blooper and Spiny polybags and I like what I see (and the polybags were pretty good value at the A$5 price I paid for em :) Loving the theme but I can't justify buying the starter pack or most of the expansion packs at the price they are selling for... (I have no interest in messing with the Mario figure and I dont have a phone that can run the app)
  11. The piano is cool and I like it but since it needs a phone app (which wont run on my choice of phone) I will give it a pass I think. Bring on the Sesame Street set :)
  12. Looks like lime green that happens to be slightly off due to the lighting.
  13. I can say for sure that the only reason I am even thinking about buying the Lambo is that I love Lamborghini so much.
  14. If they brought back sets as cool as the Bike Shop & Cafe or the family house (and they picked a decent color scheme) I would buy them no question. All of the old large Creator House sets (Model Town House, Beach House, Family Home, Hillside House, Seaside House, Family House) were great parts packs :)
  15. I just love how B&P can let you get parts that would otherwise only be available in a really expensive set. (and in quantities that would be difficult to obtain otherwise). I just need to get around to actually going through all the parts added to the Brickset database since I last ordered and figure out which ones to shortlist (before finding out what's for sale and what's not and then actually placing an order :)
  16. With so many awesome parts in the 2h2020 sets maybe its time I did another B&P order... Just need to find the time to do it (and the funds)
  17. Even ignoring the desire to keep things secret from bootleggers and competitors, it makes a lot of sense to not announce new products too far in advance. Announcing too far in advance can hurt sales of the products being sold now and that's not good for LEGO (google "Osborne Effect" to see more about why this can be bad)
  18. Here in Australia I have not seen any retailer (LEGO stores included) where feeling the bags was not an option. Some stores are insisting you use sanitizer beforehand but otherwise no issues here if I wanted to army build vikings (or any other fig :)
  19. The Chermside store in QLD, Australia (which I was at today) had the Build-a-Fig open again but with signs requiring people to wear gloves when handling the parts (signs that I will note most people seemed to be ignoring completly). No clue if they had any new parts in there or not though.
  20. How has Bricks & Pieces been lately in terms of issues or problems? Has anyone from Australia ordered anything recently? Thinking of placing an order to pick up some of the interesting parts from the newer sets but I dont want to do it until I can be sure everything is going to go smoothly in terms of ordering, delivery etc.
  21. FYI I spotted the Barracuda Bay at several of the LEGO stores here in QLD over the past week so if you want one and can get there you might be able to snag one (without having to hope Shop @ Home gets more stock and you can jump on it before that stock sells out)
  22. I bet the Pirate Bay has drawn a fair few people who used to be LEGO fans (especially pirate fans) or had pirate LEGO as a kid but who aren't necessarily the biggest LEGO fans anymore back into LEGO. I had Pirates as a kid (including the Black Seas Barracuda) and the only reason I haven't bought the Pirate Bay is because I already have the re-issue Black Seas Barracuda in my current collection (that and the fact that I am low on funds and have things higher on my wish list like the new Lamborghini)
  23. Its clear from both what LEGO have said and from what's been approved for Ideas over the years that LEGO wants to use the Ideas line in part to appeal to people who aren't LEGO fans but who might buy an Ideas set because of the subject matter (e.g. Beetles fans buying the Yellow Submarine or Space buffs buying the Saturn V or ISS). Sets like the Piano and the just-approved Typewriter very much fit into that and are intended to appeal to people who aren't necessarily LEGO fans. (whether the Typewriter in particular can do that remains to be seen though, I am skeptical that it will sell all that well)
  24. The new underwater sets are already out here in Australia :) Same with the 2 airports (the 4+ one and the other one with the bigger airplane)
  25. Seinfeld I can understand (its one of the most popular sitcoms of all time and its perfect for a LEGO set, I will probably buy one) but I didn't think Home Alone was anywhere near popular enough in 2020 to be a viable product. And that typewriter, how many kids actually know what one is? And for adults who like typewriters, how many would buy a LEGO set instead of just spending the money to buy a real typewriter instead? (especially given how expensive the LEGO model is likely to cost) Its possible there were licensing or IP issues that prevented the Futurama set being made (or they plan to release a Futurama set but just not that one) I dont think the "its not popular enough" line would fly, Futurama is far more popular in 2020 than something like Home Alone...
