  1. Looking at what's up for review: Mary Poppins. Will depend on licensing and how popular the movie really is (as well as whether the size is a problem and whether they could shrink it down and still make it work) Cybertruck. Won't happen. Not a vehicle with mass market appeal plus its an unreleased product and who knows what the license situation might be. Untitled Goose Game. Won't happen. Once again very small market appeal. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I would say it has no chance unless the movie is a lot more popular with the right demographic than I thought. The train station. Won't happen. Very big (bigger than any as-yet released Ideas set by a fair margin) and it requires several parts that have long been discontinued and would almost certainly require new molds to bring them back, something that can be justified for a set based on an IP as popular as Sesame Street but not for a set like this one. Also LEGO clearly has evidence that train stations don't sell otherwise they would presumably have done one to go with the 2018 train lineup. SpaceX Falcon 9. They are re-releasing the Saturn V Rocket so its highly unlikely they would approve the SpaceX rocket (its has way less market appeal than the rocket that took man to the moon). Project Gemini With the Apollo Lunar Lander and the re-released Saturn V Rocket, this is unlikely to get made (also its nowhere near as well known outside of people who are space buffs etc as something like the Space Shuttle or the Apollo stuff) Retro Bowling Alley. I think this one has a decent chance. Its not so big as to be unviable. Its nothing like a modular. LEGO hasn't done a bowling alley before (they did a few bowling setups in a few sets but never an entire alley) and bowling is a popular activity. Plus its in an architectural style we haven't seen much of from LEGO. Indiana Jones. They already know how well Indiana Jones sets did or didn't sell from the last batch plus who knows what they might be planning for the next Indy movie (assuming it ever gets made that is) so I dont see this as being particularly likely. Bricks & Blooms. Its a modular and they don't do those in Ideas. Sonic. They are doing Mario and there is no way they are going to do Sonic at the same time (even if their license with Nintendo doesn't prohibit it which, knowing Nintendo, it might) Fishing Boat. I don't think its got mass appeal (not in the way things like the Fishing Store did) although if they make it I hope they use that hat from Hidden Side on the crew. Knight Rider. It could happen, the TV show is still fairly popular and the car itself is even more popular than that (lots of people know the car who don't know much about the TV show). Plus they did Knight Rider in dimensions so they would know more about licensing, how popular the fun pack was etc. Snow Groomer. Not going to happen, they already have a long pipeline of large flagship Technic sets and they already made this as a Technic set back in 2009 (although smaller). Castle. Seems too close to the Blacksmith Shop to me (both being large medieval creations). Will probably be rejected for the same reason anything Pirates is going to be rejected after Barracuda Bay hit. Coraline. I could see this happening, the movie is fun and reasonably popular and a pink house could have appeal. Heck, even I would be interested in it if they did it right. Rome. Too big and if the rumors are true they are doing a Colosseum set soon. Ruined House. Interesting design but also somewhat large. Hard to find a market for this (as compared to a licensed IP like Home Alone) Krusty Krab. Don't see this one happening (I don't know if anyone else still has the license but a set that large would be a hard sell to the target audience for Spongebob toys and they already know from the past how well Spongebob sold or didn't sell) Waterfall. Neat but very little market for it IMO. Queen. As awesome as Queen is, I dont think this set is going to make it. I consider my self a fairly big Queen fan and even I don't know anything about this train.(the song involved is far from their most popular/well known as well). And its a train (something LEGO is very cautious about in general, look at how long it took them to release another AFOL train with that brown thing they did this year). I think a Queen set might work but it would have to be a much more popular song (and one with nothing controversial about it unlike I Want to Break Free) Futurama. May happen although the show overall is both more controversial/adult than The Simpsons and less popular (and isn't making new content unlike The Simpsons) Iron Giant. Getting the IP might be an issue plus I dont know how popular it is (I suspect far more people recognize it from Ready Player One than from the actual Iron Giant movie) Zelda Castle. Don't see this happening (it looks almost Disney Castle sized to me and as popular as Zelda is as a franchise, I don't see that being a viable product. Plus who knows what is going on with the licensing. Blue Origin Rocket. Even less likely than the SpaceX Rocket (and even less well known outside of space buffs as well) Globe. This I could see happening as a neat desk toy or whatever. Could have similar appeal to the Ship in a Bottle or the Typewriter. Stability (i.e. how stable is it while being built and once completed) might be a potential issue though (its unclear from the pictures how they reinforced in on the inside) and I dont know how much it would need to cost and if that would be too high for such a product (remember how the Ship in a Bottle was scaled down frpm the original submission, this one would be harder to scale down)
  2. I think you can look to the Bespin Duel star wars set as a guide to what is likely to happen with the Toad's Special Hideaway set. Both are limited edition sets produced for a con of some sort and it seems that both will be available in limited quantities. It also appears from the pictures that (like the Bespin Duel) there are no parts in the set that are exclusive to it
  3. If they really are doing Looney Tunes in January, that will be awesome.
  4. The Elite Police sets are available in Australia (at least in the LEGO stores) and are still called Elite Police over here.
  5. More Snow White stuff would be good for sure.
  6. The hearing aid head is showing up as for sale right now for me here in Australia. Looking at the other parts exclusive to that set (or at least listed as "in 1 set" on Brickset), the fire helicopter printed tail, tram front (lower and upper), dark brown pigtails hair, green half circle plate, police torso, orange car base, vita rush round brick and new control panel slope are not for sale. Both glasses heads, the lime green jacket, mayoral torso, corn headgear and grey robin hood hat are for sale though.
  7. I actually liked the martial arts figure in S20, the nunchucks in particular are cool.
  8. The Saturn V I can understand (given how popular it was) but the Ship in a Bottle makes no sense to me. When it was in stores here in Australia it never really sold. There are sets they could bring back (non-licensed even) that would probably sell better than the Ship in a Bottle. Bring back the Exo-Suit. Bring back the (very popular) Fishing Store.
  9. Do we know that the Big Bird leak isn't another fake like the Count was?
  10. Loot shot of my order: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CR6iT9bgb71TXheHmt3Q8HOKFhPt-QBy/view Excuse the quality, there was limited light and my good camera needs batteries. Any parts you can't ID from the picture I will be happy to identify :) Some good stuff in the haul like fig parts from the 2hy City sets (airport, elite police and ocean exploration). fig parts from the 2hy Hidden Side sets (including several of the torsos and legs from the Nate Lockem character in the jail set), the new chopper motorbike, the Mario arrow tile (the only Mario part that was available and that I thought I had a use for), more of the animals from the ocean exploration sets (I bought the little sub with the hammerhead shark in it already), lots of hairpieces and hats, parts from the Crocodile Locomotive, assorted printed bits and more. The 1 x 2 x 2 window glass is the trans-black-opal one from the Micky & Minnie figs set, its definitely a very unusual color when you look at it (its almost like its got some purple in there). And yes those are 1 x 1 round tiles in trans-clear-opal, trans-blue-opal and trans-clear-glitter :). Also picked up some of the creator astronaut torsos and the legs everyone seems to think match well with them (from the Hidden Side robot) The big blue airplane tail is going to eventually go on a MOC of an Ansett Airlines passenger jet (I am sure there are Aussies out there who remember Ansett...) What I like about B&P is that I can get parts that would otherwise require buying expensive sets (or paying up on the secondary market) like the ship captain from the big ocean exploration ship, parts from the Bookshop and some Barracuda Bay bits like the black barrel.
  11. The shipping cost to Australia (and the high free shipping threshold) makes doing smaller orders too expensive. Then again, my last Bricklink order had a $21 order price and a $12 shipping cost (not that much lower than the shipping cost for B&P) so maybe I shouldn't be so worried :)
  12. My B&P order showed up today. The packaging has a return address of "Mascot NSW" and a "for use with domestic parcels only" Australia Post logo so it must have been shipped in a big lot from Denmark to Australia and then handed off to Australia Post from there. Loot shot to come once I finish checking it all.
  13. Sounds like there could be some good things comming in 2021.
  14. Leaks I saw suggest the first one is the second starter set, the last one is more blind bags and the 2 above that are more suits.
  15. One thing to remember is that in the past there have been statements about how Ideas sets can use new molds (Dr Who, Steamboat Willie and even some of the parts in the Caterham IIRC) but some other business unit/set/theme must pay for the costs of the molds. Its entirely possible the same has happened here and there will be more Sesame Street content beyond this one set. (we have seen no evidence to suggest otherwise and that a single Ideas set could have potentially 6+ new molds all covered by the Ideas budget alone)
  16. What do you mean by "2020 Batmobile"? 75940? Also you forgot to mention the Jurassic Park Raptor Chase set.
  17. Assuming the leaks are legit, I like what I see so far. But if they don't have Big Bird, its a no sale for me.
  18. Still waiting for my order that shipped on the 2nd (or at least the 2nd is the date on the email I got saying its shipped). Although I am not worried yet, I know its probably going to take longer both to get here from Denmark and to get to me once it hits Australa.
  19. If its not allowed then LEGO presumably doesn't think its acceptable brand-fit wise (one of the central plot points of the series revolves around the "spice", something that based on the description sounds a lot like a highly addictive drug to me)
  20. Anyone know whether Dune is on the list of allowed IPs on LEGO Ideas or not?
  21. Not a lot of scope for new animals in caves really. I was thinking something like the African Savannah or jungle or the Australian Outback, so many animals and still possible to come up with a compelling way to make it appeal to the core kid audience for LEGO City.
  22. I hope whatever "explorers" sub-theme they do for 2021 brings something new to the table (either somewhere that they haven't explored yet or at the very least, a good selection of new animals and other new parts)
  23. I think if Avatar is something Disney considers acceptable to put into their theme parks, it should be OK in terms of "brand fit" for LEGO as well. Would the Dune universe be OK or are there things in it that LEGO wouldn't consider appropriate?
  24. Of the items that hit 10k, the most likely choices that I can see would be the Up House (its still a popular movie I believe, the model doesn't look too big, its instantly recognizable and I think its got broad appeal), the dogs (because of how different they are to what LEGO normally does and because it wouldn't need to be huge or expensive if they picked only a few of the dogs instead of all 6), maybe Night at the Museum if it isn't too similar to things like the dinosaur skeletons and if the movie is still popular enough and maybe Community if the licensing works and if its popular enough (Friends, Seinfeld and Big Bang Theory are still VERY popular shows which is why they made sense as LEGO sets but Community I dont know about) Then again, I would never in a million years have predicted that the Home Alone house would get approved (I thought it was far too big AND not popular enough these days) so my predictions may be wrong.
  25. The stores I have been in are doing packaged figs but none of the new parts.
