Distribution of S4 around here has been the biggest yet, probably more boxes than S3 at the big retailers.

What will happen is that retailers wont lower their prices OR demand lower wholesale prices, they will simply cut back on the product they carry. Although with Woolworths and Coles engaged in a price war right now, seeing Big W and K-Mart follow suite in a bunch of areas would be great :)

Good review. The gold bars being pearl gold is lame, they should have been metallic gold like the 1 x 2 tiles in the bank & money transfer, Space Police etc. Although being Perl Gold, I now have less reason to want some :)

I suspect its simply that LEGO subsidizes sales to big US retailers (because LEGO needs those retailers far more than those retailers need LEGO) in a big way and charges Australia and New Zealand more to make up for it. (and LEGO doesn't need the big Aussie retailers anywhere near as much as they need Wal-Mart and others in the US)

Based on those prices every set is about 2 times the US price. Yet again LEGO puts Australia at the BOTTOM of the list and makes us pay a fortune so they can cross-subsidize the US and other markets. I was considering which sets to buy (some of the medium sized sets) but after seeing these prices and not being willing to order from overseas, I am going to only buy the Captains Cabin.

This is an amazing chess set and looks like something that any true chess aficionado would be pleased to have in their collection of sets. Aside from the fact that its made out of LEGO, it reminds me of one of the really fancy expensive chess sets you see in the high-end games shops and stuff.

Maybe the MYER guy was confused and some other theme will be MYER exclusive with a 1st June release. (Pharaoh's Quest is one possibility) If POTC is listed in a dealer catalog, it cant be a store exclusive.

If someone knows of a way to use a VISA card for this purpose (i.e. having someone in NZ purchase a bank & money transfer set and ship it to me in Australia) that doesn't involve PayPal, eBay or anything connected with those entities, please do advise me as I have yet to find such a service.

80NZ doesn't sound that bad, the only problem is the total lack of a decent way to send money across the pond without using PayPal (who I refuse to use for all sorts of reasons)

Anyone know how much the bank robbery set is over there and anyone know of an easy non-paypal way to transfer money to NZ? With the rip-off price of AU$89 in the local shops, I am wondering if its worth trying to import one from over there. Although if the price over there is just as bad once shipping, exchange rates and fees with whatever money transfer method is used are taken into account, it may not be worth it.

Bah, $89 bucks for the bank robbery? Thats a rip-off :( As for minifigures, when I was in Target looking for the figs I wanted, I was also able to help someone else find the ones they wanted (Geisha and Hazmat guy)

If you want Minifigures S4, Target Morley has about 10 boxes or so. (plus a couple boxes of S3). Both are on sale at 20% off. MYER Morley has both S3 and S4 but no discount. Target Whitfords has about 1&1/2 to 2 boxes full of S4 but the chances of getting the ones you want would be less (they have been picked over for the good stuff already) Do check with the target store you intend to visit to ensure they have stock though as some stores I called (Inaloo, Perth CBD and I think Carousel said that they didnt have any in stock at the time I called) I now have all the S4 I want plus I picked up a S3 Sumo Wrestler to get the bronze trophy (the hair and head may also be usefull :) Nothing else of note spotted at Morley (TRU, Target, K-Mart or MYER) or Whitfords (Target or K-Mart) Still no sign of the K-Mart exclusive bank robbery set :(

What happened to the Bridgestone dealer?

I have noticed that for large sets Big W can sometimes be good but for smaller sets, they usually have them at RRP or maybe tiny discount (not the 10-20% they can have on large sets) Maybe I should go hunting on Monday and see if I can find a Target with Minifigures S4 at 20% off. The only issue is if I find some but then Target says "sorry, we arent supposed to sell those yet" :(

Are there any stores out there that still consistently sell below RRP? Once upon a time Big W used to have their regular pricing below RRP (e.g. saving $10 on a $100 set) but these days they dont have the good pricing anymore :( K-Mart stopped having sales when they followed Big W and moved to their "lower prices everyday" model but their prices are no good either (unless you find clearance stock)

The problem with rare figs like the printed-arms Boba Fett and the various rare figs from Harry Potter and Batman and etc is that they may cost that much if you wanted to buy one on Bricklink but actually finding someone willing to PAY anywhere near that much is much harder. I own a printed-arms Boba Fett and other "rare" figs but I doubt I could get enough for them to make it worth trying to sell them (rather than keeping them for my collection even though I never use them for anything)

There are plenty of AK47 toys. Google for "ak47 toy" and you can find plenty of pictures. The shelves of my local toy stores have quite a lot of toy machine guns and stuff (all of which have things like bright colors or orange tips to make them clearly different from real guns) As for the debate over Indiana Jones and its "military" vehicles, look at the vehicles TLG chose to make. None of them are in any way similar to vehicles in use by modern military forces and none of them are likely to appear on the news, only in movies. Tanks on the other hand appear in the news all the time and modern tanks dont look all that different (to a kid at least) to tanks from the world-war era.

Maybe I should check to see if any WA targets have S4 figs then... Although the worry is that if I start calling around asking stores if they have stock, someone will say "hey we arent supposed to be selling those yet, lets remove them from the shelf"

What price did they have them at?

Won't bother looking for a WA target that has some then if they arent supposed to be sold yet (and therefore would only be available if someone screwed up and put a box out early)

No sign of any S4 figs at Target or MYER in Perth CBD. Lets hope one of the Perth Target stores gets stock in before the 20% off sale ends (if they do, I will go there and buy all the ones I still need :)

It fit fine. But it kept falling out (and appears to have fallen out one time too many and vanished somewhere :( )

Are the Power Miners and Space Police examples the only examples of Coffee Machines in sets with minifigs that arent town/train?
