  1. Nice MOC, I need to start building modular (as a 32x32 building will fit better in parts of our layout than a 48x48)
  2. I do love these and cant wait for them to appear. As a geek, I think the mad scientist is the coolest of the series. Although as a lover of the kind of music that is loud enough to register on earthquake detectors, the punk rocker is cool also :)
  3. Did you check the Joondalup store?
  4. I have more than enough airplane parts to build one :)
  5. Nice review. I wish that some of the airlines around here sold these things. But it seems like if I want one, I gotta buy from Bricklink for $$$, buy limited quantities from some airline online shop (if I am luck and if they ship to Australia) or fly to Europe.
  6. My 2 biggest gripes with this set (and yes I own one) are the use of many large specialty pieces (like the black cab nose piece that was only ever found in this set) and the fact that the engine was only tiny and not full-length. Thankfully TLG seems to have moved away from specialty parts that only see use in one set (even the new aircraft nose/tail pieces are being seen in a variety of sets and in a variety of colors)
  7. That deal on the public transport is GREAT. Of course that assumes there is a TRU that still has any stock left...
  8. I would LOVE to see LEGO versions of classic board games (or LEGO games inspired by the classic games) How about a LEGO game inspired by Cluedo and featuring LEGO figs as the protagonists and LEGO accessories as the weapons. There has to be some idea for a LEGO game somehow connected to the Monopoly idea and building stuff. Or something like Mouse Trap with the trap being built from LEGO.
  9. You could always modify the 787 Dreamliner set to become a carrier for this (or the Shuttle Adventure)
  10. Clearly the Grand Emporium I bought from David Jones late last year is an illusion then :P
  11. I suspect MYER will get the Tower Bridge (they got the Eiffel Tower and the Taj Mahal) and David Jones will get the Pet Shop (like they got the Green Grocer and Grand Emporium)
  12. All of the modular buildings have been sold at retail here in Australia (I bought the Grand Emporium at retail in fact and could still buy a Fire Brigade if I wanted one)
  13. I think its due to the large number of parts and large size that these sets usually have.
  14. Put South Australian freight railway into google image search and you should get some ideas of some locomotives to build :) What sort of wagons is this freight train intended to carry?
  15. Thanks for the info, now I know what to go and give to the officeworks guy next time I am in there so that they actually have a clue what I am talking about and can sell me some proper sticker paper and not just "mailing labels" (which are totally useless for LEGO stickering)
  16. We have people who have seen order forms (or claim to have seen order forms) from TLG that indicate its a pet shop. Therefore I think we can say its a pet shop and not a bank or post office or anything else.
  17. Great furniture. If I decide to build the antique store idea I had, I will use some of your ideas :)
  18. Nice Mario fig. For Luigi you could do what they did in the live-action movie and give Luigi a green baseball cap (which does exist)
  19. Bah, 60 bucks for that helicopter. Just confirms my decision not to buy one :)
  20. btw if anyone still wants Series 3 minifigs, try your local MYER during the 20%off sale, Perth CBD had a few boxes near the checkout.
  21. For those in Perth after a Woody's Roundup, MYER in the CBD had a bunch on clearance. Decided not to buy one after all and went with the log cabin for $40 instead (because I needed some more tan 1 x 1 brick with stud on side for my next project :)
  22. Has anyone seen a good deal on a Woody's Roundup in Perth? I want to buy one for parts but not at RRP.
  23. Hopefully Australia doesn't have to wait weeks after the rest of the world gets these and hopefully they are as widely available as Series 3 (so I can go into Target and buy up big like last time)
  24. My favorite theme of all time has to be Ice Planet 2002. I only need a white magnet holder and 2 white 1 x 2 tiles with short yellow arrow and I will be able to build every Ice Planet set at once.
  25. It wouldn't surprise me to see a bunch of clubs putting in LUGBULK orders for the new slope in the next round (whenever that is) so they can get enough for building a roof :)
