MYER Perth has all their lego out including sw and the excavator. No bridge or boat yet. Saw the sorting head off to the side so I suspect that the boat and bridge are also being held back. Nothing of note at DJs. On my way to Karrynup and some other places to look for PQ at Big W. Will report anything I find of note that I find.

I havent seen any new stock at MYER here in WA yet. But I havent been to MYER for a while (last one I went to was Fremantle on Wednesday). Will probably be going out somewhere tomorrow though and will report back if I see anything new (at MYER or elsewhere)

Nice job on this MOC and the stickering. Do you have any advice on how to get a match between the color you print on the sticker and the color of the brick or do you simply not bother trying?

Don't bother looking for a Grand Emporium if you are in WA, there are none left. (one of the downsides to having only 2 DJs in the state that sell LEGO)

Some reports from Fremantle today. MYER had nothing new at all on the shelves. Target had the hillside house, lighthouse and some Star Wars. Plenty of stock at Toyworld though including one remaining fire brigade for $199 plus plenty of Kingdoms and Winter sets. (no way are the 2 winter sets good value at those prices though) As for the Tower Bridge, MYER putting its regular price at $20 ABOVE RRP is a rip-off. Its bad enough our RRPs are so high but then to have a store price it even HIGHER...

Good to know that Target is getting the Diagon Alley as that set is on my wishlist and ordering it from overseas isn't really an option for me.

Don't bother asking employees of TRU about upcoming product, they never know whats comming, they just get whatever comes on the truck.

I wish I had been able to obtain the Greengrocer. I also regret not being able to obtain some of the batman stuff (the bat-tank especially) More of the earlier (pre-flesh) HP would be nice too. And some of the Spiderman stuff. There are a few other sets here and there I wish I could afford as well like the police station with the light-up cop minifig and the base from Space Police III.

Nice photos, now I can confirm my want-list for this. The graduate is a must-have (that torso is cool), will probably get 2 Will definatly get an Eskimo for the hood, fish, fishing rod etc Will have to get a zookeeper for the chimp if nothing else Need 2 lumberjacks for the torso, baseball cap, axe etc. Gotta have the bowler hat and legs from that clown (and the pie) That boxer is good (esp with the double sided head) Will have to get at least 3 of the gangster for the violin case, torso and head (plus the hat) And I gotta get 2 of the snowboarder for my outdoors store. Also, the photos solve the mystery of what the girl with the boom box is. The green sweatband around the top of the head confirms that she must be a fitness instructor rather than a dancer.

I suspect MYER is withholding the new sets for a while (maybe until their big %off sale is over or maybe until their big toy sale in a few weeks or whatever). As of today, MYER in perth CBD had no new stock at all. David Jones had plenty of new stock including Star Wars, the light house and the hillside house (bought a hillside house after checking Bricklink etc and finding that it wasnt possible to get one for less than the $80 DJs wanted, even by buying from overseas and having it shipped here) Of note for Cars fans is that they had a number of copies of the Big Bentley Bust Out with a price tag of $50 on them (which is clearly a mistake on DJs part as that's LESS than the US RRP). So if you want a Big Bentley Bust Out, go to your nearest DJs ASAP. Does anyone know of an AU release date or RRP for the NinjaGo Blacksmith Shop set? (and who is getting it if its an exclusive) Still looking for a PQ Golden Staff Guardians if anyone has seen one :)

Nothing new in MYER or Target perth CBD. Didn't get the chance to pass through DJs (and didnt think it was worth it as they usually have almost no stock of any note)\ Plenty of POTC and Cars in MYER though (if you want POTC and cant get it from overseas, MYER with 25% off is the best place to get it)

Based on previous years, MYER is likely to put their new stuff on the shelf in about early july when they have their big toy sale. Rumors indicate that MYER is going to get the London Bridge set.

Avengers licensing would be GREAT for the minifig accessories alone. Thor's mighty hammer and winged helmet for one. Plus Iron Man with his armor. And Captain America with his shield and headgear (I dont know if Cap wears a helmet or what he wears) Not to mention Loki and his getup Hawkeye and his bow (new color for it if not new mould) As for those who talk about Spiderman, there is a reboot of the Spiderman film franchise comming out in 2012 so if we see any new sets, its likely they will appear alongside that film.

The difference here is that the major LEGO retailers (K-Mart, Target, Big W, MYER, David Jones, Toyworld and Toys R Us) are a lot more financially stable than the owners of Borders and Angus and Robertson were. Also, less people know about the options for buying LEGO online from overseas (Bricklink especially).

Went past MYER perth today. No new sets and no sale yet. Plenty of stock of everything else though (including star wars, POTC and Cars)

Maybe we will see Alien Conquest follow what happened to the last Pirates release where one store (Target in the case of Pirates) had an exclusive on it and then much later in the year, everyone got it.

Anyone heard any rumors about a local release of Diagon Alley? Or when Alien Conquest or new HP is due for a local release? Still on the lookout for a Golden Staff Guardians if anyone spots one in Perth. Given how regularly MYER seems to be having these 25% off sales, its surprising that they are surviving (or for that matter that they continue to sell this product given that they cant sell it without a 25% off sale)

Whats the best way to remove the sticky stuff left when you remove stickers (official TLG or 3rd party) from parts without damaging the parts?

Can anyone tell me if there are any rules regarding what price stores are required to sell at or any limits on what a store can set as its regular retail price? Also, in regards to the discussion of online vs retail, its mostly AFOLs and savvy shoppers who are buying online. Most parents and normal buyers tend to either buy at retail and pay the cost or (more likely) go to another isle and buy a cheaper toy (not caring that the cheaper toy is of inferior quality). Most parents dont know about options like Bricklink or Barnes & Noble.

Someone PLEASE tell me that the $100 for the Hillside House is a TRU markup and not actual RRP. No way is that set worth $100. Then again, its $70US (which isn't exactly good value either) so $100 AU is not that bad compared to the 100% markup we get on things like POTC.

They kept a pretty tight lid on the Pet Shop too. Also, as of today, Big W Belmont has the Ewok Attack, Big Bentley Bust Up and Scarab Attack. No other PQ sets spotted (has anyone seen the Golden Staff Guardians at retail yet?) K-Mart had a couple of the giant storage heads but other than that, nothing notable.
