  1. Ok, that link was wrong. But I definatly saw something on the TT ad or "comming later this week" bit.
  2. Does anyone know of any good RGB or CMYK color values I can use in my paint program when printing stickers so that the stickers can be made to match the real bricks (or as close as I can get). Interested in 01 White, 21 Bright Red, 22 Bright Blue, 24 Bright Yellow, 26 Black, 28 Dark Green, 119 Bright Yellowish Green, 140 Earth Blue, 194 Medium Stone Grey and 199 Dark Stone Grey.
  3. Tried printing a few test pages and the colors came out a bit wierd. So I called Canon support and they told me to try "deep nozzle cleaning". Tried that and my printer printed nice bright yellow. Now I just need to hope that I can find some correct RGB values for my paint program that will (when printed) match the colors of the bricks they will be applied to (especially the dark blue and the light bluish grey)
  4. I cant remember exact details but I saw something on Today Tonight (or a TT ad) here in Perth indicating they were going to have a story about a MYER sale, something about it being "The biggest sale in the history of MYER" or something. Will have to watch TT tonight and see if I can see the story and any details. Relavent here in case the TT story mentions anything about toys being included (and whether the sale itself includes LEGO or toys) EDIT: http://au.todaytonight.yahoo.com/article/7328560/lifestyle/myer-biggest-stocktake-sale Thats a link to the blurb about the TT story.
  5. I think the minigun will look great on things like fighter jets (many of which have miniguns like that) The retro ray gun is cool too, very different from the TLG design.
  6. Nice review. Can someone who knows Harry Potter more than I do tell me what that globe is supposed to represent?
  7. Looking good and yes the Coffee Club stand in the photo would be a good match for what you have built so far. Better than a Donut King (who's donuts suck anyway :)
  8. At that price (and given what it will likely cost here) I dont think I can justify it.
  9. http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/colorguide.cgi implies that LEGO use Pantone colors.
  10. 1.What program do people use to make their stickers? (a free solution would be nice) 2.Does anyone have a suitable sticker template for any of these parts: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6239 the tail used on many recent smaller airplanes and helicoptors http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=64453 the windscreen used in trucks and stuff http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=52031 the curved roof piece used for trucks and vans and stuff 3.Can anyone tell me how to get accurate color matching so that when I print on my Canon Pixma MP-510, I can get proper color matches? Specifically I am interested in matching Dark Green, Dark Blue, Light Bluish Grey, Red and Yellow. I attempted to use the color values from http://www.peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/colorguide.cgi but they dont produce accurate results for some reason (the dark blue came out looking purple and the light bluish grey came out looking pink) I am printing onto glossy standard size photo paper with a sticky back.
  11. Has anyone seen the cars set with the black and white jet airplane in it anywhere yet or know who will get it, when it will appear and what it will cost?
  12. For the bakery, you could make it a Bakers Delight. When you get to the minifigs, one thing you need is some cleaners cleaning the place (emptying bins etc) and also some security guys. Plus an information kiosk to tell people where to find stuff. For the food court, some ideas: a Donut King a Subway (I only know of one major shopping centre in Perth that doesn't have a Subway somewhere and they used to have one before it became a Croissant Express) some sort of Asian (Thai, Indian, Chinese etc) some sort of sushi maybe a Hungry Jacks ice cream place You should also build a hairdresser for your center
  13. 70% of 279.95 is 195.96 So you are being given 30% off a list price of 279.95, not 30% off a (presumably sale) price of 251.95
  14. Plenty of people have built LEGO casinos and gambling things in MOCs before :P
  15. Your newsagent needs a SA Lotteries machine and signage :)
  16. I am guessing its the same color as used for the glow-in-the-dark alien head in the Space Police III Lunar Limo set.
  17. I suggest K-Mart (since you already did a Target Country before)
  18. Anyone seen (or gotten a BigW price for) the golden staff guardians (with the motorbike)?
  19. Brand ideas for the coffee shop: The Coffee Club Gloria Jeans Aroma Cafe All 3 exist in South Australia as well as here in WA and all 3 are found everywhere around here plus they give you options for more than just coffee if you want (lunches, snacks, cakes/pastries etc)
  20. Nice review, confirms that this set is a must-buy for me (although I dont quite know what I will do with the purple :)
  21. MYER Perth CBD had plenty of POTC and Cars stuff (every Cars set except the Ultimate Build Francesco, Big Bentley Bust Up, Spy Jet Escape and Tokyo International Circuit) Nothing else special though. David Jones also had Cars and POTC as well as 1 box each of Series 3 and Series 4.
  22. Nice job so far, cant wait to see your mobile phone shop and stuff.
  23. MYER will likely get one or more exclusive sets during their big mid-year toy sale (rumors suggest the London Bridge set is going to MYER which makes sense since they got the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower) The 25% off sale is a good time to pick up some POTC (e.g. London Escape, Whitecap Bay) or some Cars if your store has them in stock (and if buying from overseas is not an option)
  24. For the travel agency, you need a large map of the world hanging on the wall. As for what to build next, a sports store would be cool :) (I have plans to build one of my own soon, still acquiring parts for it) Ideas for shops you could build: Mobile phone shop (every shopping centre has at least 4 or 5 of those these days, just dont do a Telstra Shop :) Food court (with different kinds of food e.g. burgers, sushi, kebabs, Asian, coffee, ice cream or donuts) Optometrist/Glasses shop (but then you need to decide which one to do :) Newsagent/Lotto (If I remember my last visit to South Australia, the lotto places over there have a wishbone on the sign) Butcher Shop/Fishmonger Barber/Hairdresser Foxtel display (every major shopping center has some kind of display pushing this overpriced crap) Information/security desk I would suggest some kind of tobacconist or the like but since I think smoking is a filthy habit, I will instead suggest that you do NOT feature anything smoking related in this MOC :)
  25. Ended up buying it from K-Mart as I received a belated birthday present that allowed me to buy it :)
