  1. What set is that torso from?
  2. Another idea that would be cool would be to see some farm equipment like a Harvester.
  3. The word I have seen regarding the AU release of the BP is that it will come to Australia but only to a few stores and not all of them.
  4. Nice work, your town continues to impress.
  5. Ideas: 1.A true supercar like the 8880 with suspension, working steering, working transmission, engine bits and lots of body panels. Something designed to look like a sports car (Ferrari, Lambo etc) without looking like any specific sports car. Wheels should be similar to those on say the 8448 Super Street Sensation and should come in whatever color LEGO is using for parts in bricklink Metallic Silver these days. Would be cool to see doors that pivot upwards like on various Lamborghini models (scissor doors I think they are called) The color of the car should be anything other than red or black. 2.A highly detailed helicopter with realistic functions, something like the classic 8856 Whirlwind Rescue only bigger and better. Either bring back the old rotor pieces (with the rotor piece, ball-type gear thing and the ring with all the tow-balls on it) or create new pieces that do the same job only better. Inspiration should come from the Bell Huey and similar helicopters. Since we had a rescue helicopter this year, make this model into a fire fighting or utility helicopter (or maybe even a police helicopter) 3.A detailed model of a car engine (a V8 or something) with working pistons that go up and down, camshafts that rotate, maybe valves that move up and down and whatever else. 4.Highly detailed motorcycle with all the features modeled out like the engine, gearbox, shocks, exhaust, seat etc. Should be done in "naked" style like a Harley or like the bikes they build on American Chopper rather than one covered with panels. 5.A technic fighter jet would look cool with flaps, rudder, landing gear, jet engines etc. Maybe make it one of those ones with the swing wings for even more play value. And they could use whatever exemption in their "no weapons" policy allowed them to produce the recent creator Sonic Boom jet aircraft set.

  7. Nice cars. I too wish for 1x1 tiles in dark blue and trans clear as well as trans-orange.
  8. The desk drawers are LEGO minifig suitcase pieces.
  9. I just LOVE the post office and will certainly pinch building ideas (like that sax) from it if I cant actually buy one. As for the VW Kombi van, I dont like German cars so I will give that a miss :( Seems like LEGO is going to great lengths to keep any and all information (pictures etc) about the makeup and contents of the Black Perl set out of the public eye (even more than they do for most sets).
  10. In case anyone cares (and isn't planning to wait a month for the Target sale), David Jones in Perth CBD has all 3 of the new HP sets (the Hogwarts addon, the bus and the forbidden forest) Also, MYER has restocked on the tower bridge and has a few on the shelf. No flagships though.
  11. I haven't seen too many Collectable Minifigs that have been ripped open. Although the bar-codes/dot-codes/feel-the-bag trick may have helped there as people used that to get the figs they wanted.
  12. The news about the Alien Conquest at Target has confirmed my decision NOT to go to TRU, K-Mart or Big W for any of their sale items. Only question is how much I can afford and what to buy first (clearly the Diagon Alley is top of the list as its an exclusive and will probably sell out fast, even faster than the MMV did I suspect)
  13. Finally found the PQ set I wanted today at a Big W in Ellenbrook (of all places). Also spotted a re-stock of the HP Quidditch set in Big W. Plenty of stock at K-Mart in Joondalup. (shuttles included). Plenty of Sort & Store heads around also (just not at MYER) No sign of any of the new HP yet. As of Sunday, no Tower Bridges left at Perth CBD MYER. Still 1 or 2 Flagships left and some other stuff.
  14. I think the news on the price of the HP sets has made me decide to say NO to K-Mart and the Space Shuttle. Already want the PQ Golden Staff Guardians, all the HP, Series 5 minifigs, Alien Conquest plus a pet shop.
  15. Plenty of POTC at Perth CBD when I was there yesterday. Not so much at Garden City (no ships or London Escapes)
  16. If you mean the yellow grab scoop piece, its not a new piece and has been around for ages If you mean the conveyer belt piece, its also used in a Train set this year. If you mean the yellow grab scoop piece, its not a new piece and has been around for ages If you mean the conveyer belt piece, its also used in a Train set this year.
  17. Yep, still at 149 (less the 20% off for the sale and then 10% off if you have MYER one)
  18. I like all the machines you have built for this thing.
  19. For those in the west, plenty of flagships, tower bridges, creator and everything else at both Perth City and Garden City. Garden City had a pile of Emerald Nights left. No sign of any sort n store heads though (whether I missed seeing them or whether they sold out extremely fast I dont know). Only other thing I noticed limited/no stocks of were some of the large Star Wars sets like the falcon and republic frigate. K-Mart in Garden City had the shuttle on the shelf already. Not sure if the shuttle is worth buying at that price or not given that I already own the previous Space Shuttle Discovery from a few years back. Looks like my next purchase will be the PQ Golden Staff Guardians (if/when I can find one) plus the Diagon Alley and new HP at Target. Anyone who has any interest whatsoever in the Emerald Night should definatly check all the MYER stores they are able to get to, if your store has any left, this price is the best you are likely to see unless you score a major deal from Bricklink or something.
  20. Some surprisingly good deals in the TRU catalog. 20% off LEGO CARS sets (including the TRU exclusive Tokyo Circuit set) 20% off LEGO Atlantis sets 20% off the City Public Transport (assuming any store anywhere in the country still has stock) $10 off the TRU truck (still overpriced for what it is though :( ) Plus that half price deal on the World Racers power boat set is probably worth it for parts alone :) Also, buy 2 get one free on Minifigures.
  21. The shuttle looks interesting but other than that, everything else at the K-Mart sale is pretty ordinary. Pitty there is no sign of any Alien Conquest at the sales, that's the theme I am most waiting for :(
  22. Anyone know of any MYER stores (in WA) that have the Mindstorms NXT available and if so, at what price?
  23. The only reason I havent bought any POTC sets beyond the Captain's Cabin is that they cost so much. Cut the price by 25-30% (so say the London Escape goes from $99 to $70 or $75 or so and I will buy it. But when I can buy the Hillside House for $99 (or $80 with a %off sale) and it has more pieces and less money in the pocket of Disney, why would I spend what money I have on the London Escape (cool pieces or not)
  24. The new Spongebob sets would be set 3815 Heroic Heroes of the Deep and set 3816 Glove World The "Shuttle Expedition" is set 10231 and is a re-issued version of the 10213 Shuttle Adventure containing some changes to make the set less likely to fall apart. It may be that K-Mart will also be stocking set 5512 which is a bulk brick box. (K-Mart tends to be good at stocking those things)
  25. Nothing new at Karrynup but there are still 4 x Emerald Night at MYER and 1 x Fire Brigade at David Jones. No sign of any PQ at Big W.
