  1. I also wish I had obtained more of these. Sad to hear that these fabulous boxes wont be reappearing but its understandable given the huge amount of work required to verify that every box actually contains 500 pieces.
  2. I love what you are doing with this Shell station, really looks like the right sort of thing for an outback/small town petrol station. A roadhouse style diner would be perfect. Don't forget to build a big rig truck to park at your Shell station (complete with trucker in the cab driving it) Nice job on the ice coffee too (should put some more bottles in a fridge in your diner) The food in your diner should be cheap, greasy and filling. Burgers, chips, steak sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, coffee, bacon & egg sandwiches etc.
  3. Anyone got any information on the parts selection in this thing? Are there any parts that are not found in standard City police sets? (I think the windscreen of the chopper as seen in one of the pictures is only seen in a City Airline promo set and not in regular release city sets, at least in the trans-blue color)
  4. Finally acquired this set the other day, its one of the most fun builds I have had in a long time. I would go so far as to say its the greatest licenced set of all time.
  5. Anyone know if the hood in this set is the same as the hood on the Collectable Minifigures Series 5 Eskimo?
  6. Awesome use of all those BrickForge guitars.
  7. Nice job. What part are you using for the clear bits on the front of the washers and dryers and where did you get it? It looks like a 2 x 2 round tile but I dont think the 2 x 2 round tile exists in clear.
  8. I have a dark bley cheese slope which has split so far that its almost broken in half. I have other dark bley cheese slopes that have varying degrees of cracks in the same place (splitting starting from the center of the thin end of the slope) I suspect there is something specific about the moulding of the cheese slope that is causing so many to split. That or the plastic being used is too weak.
  9. No shortage of Harry Potter at MYER Perth CBD but not much else. Target Perth CBD had all the Alien Conquest sets, most HP (battle, knight bus, train, Diagon Alley), some Starwars (pod racers, jedi shuttle, some others), the Spongebob stuff, City, NinjaGo, POTC and some other stuff.
  10. Just finished assembling the large ADU vehicle and its GREAT. I think that Alien Conquest is the best sci-fi theme we have had in a decade or more and I hope we see another wave. Now I just need to resist the urge to go and buy the remaining sets (alien mothership, jet-copter, abduction). Although I can think of some interesting ways to use the train track from the mothership for an amusement ride :)
  11. Nice job there. You need a big sign board like these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=BA04pb01 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=BA04pb02
  12. I suspect that the Marvel Avengers stuff (i.e. Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man) is based on the Avengers movie and the movies (Iron Man 1/2, Thor, Hulk, Captain America) that preceded it, not the comics. Wolverine is probably based off the most recent X-Men film that had him in it rather than the comics.
  13. My Target (at Morley) wasnt that busy today. Ended up buying the Diagon Alley, Hogwarts battle, Knight Bus, Forbidden Forrest, large blue ADU vehicle, and the second smallest alien conquest set. Now I just need some Series 5 Minifigures :)
  14. This is gonna make my wallet hurt assuming the play sets are as good as the previous Batman line. I hope they do a Professor X minifig (would be the first ever LEGO minifig with a wheelchair)
  15. If its just figs then meh, probably be too overpriced for what they are. If its actual sets that are as awesome as the previous Batman sets then YES YES YES. I bought a bunch of the Batman sets because they were damn good parts packs (one of the best deals I got was a cheap UCS Batmobile which has lots of great parts in it :) Even ended up with Arkham Asylum (built an add-on as a place for Freeze once) Wish I had been able to get the bat tank and some of the other second wave sets (like the ice cream truck) but I didnt get the chance :(
  16. My vote has to go to the 6371 I had as a kid. Although I wouldn't mind a set of those shell promos :)
  17. For those concerned about box quality, I have noticed the wire security devices on Star Wars sets at some targets but not at other Targets. So if your store cant (or wont) sell you one without a damaged box, try looking around for a store that will.
  18. I would love to see the Sydney Opera House (or anything else from Australia) And given the Tower Bridge, it would be cool to see some more famous bridges like the Sydney Harbor Bridge or the Golden Gate Bridge.
  19. The torso with the symbol on the chest is from an Exploriens set but has never officially appeared with red legs. The minifig next to it with the printed legs is a cas056 Ninja minifig although its missing the armor and headgear. The black torso along with the head on the fig next to it is from a Rock Raiders set. As is the head with the glasses, the blue torso on the guy with the blue legs and the red torso on the guy with the white legs. The head with the black beard is from a pirate set. The torso with the brown vest and the blue one with the grey armor are Ninja parts. The head with the brown hair is from a Divers set.
  20. Seems to only be at those 2 specific stores. I saw similar coupons in one of the local newspapers a while back for one of the WA Toyworld stores (Subiaco or Claremont I think) and was intending to tell everyone about it but by the time I remembered, the sale was over.
  21. Nice review. Although now it means I have YET ANOTHER map I need to acquire for my mission to acquire all parts with maps on them :(
  22. Both Armadale and Cannington Target stores have all their stock for the sale. Not much else of note out there though. Bought the tripod and the smallest AC set, couldn't wait until the sale (although I will be back there for the sale to buy my Diagon Alley and possibly other HP or AC sets depending on finances :)
  23. I concur with the base idea. Something a bit like Area 51 (as depicted in various movies and TV shows), could include some aliens being dissected and maybe some crashed/shot down alien spaceship parts being examined. Thinking also of e.g. the secret base in Independence Day where they are holding a captured alien and alien spaceship to do research on.
  24. Target Perth CBD now has the 3 new HP sets on the shelf. No Diagon Alley or Alien Conquest though.
  25. Here is a better pic of the post office from the other thread From there you can clearly see that the boy is holding a whip (or maybe its intended to represent a leash) plus a dog bone. The roof clearly is plates with tiles on them. The saxophone is brick built (and looks interesting at that) The banjo seems to be a lightsaber blade with a round road-sign then a sticker on the road sign.
