Target Brisbane CBD has new Pirates MYER Brisbane CBD has Architecture Big Ben, Lincoln Memorial, Trevi Fountain, UN HQ, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Imperial Hotel and Villa Savoye, Mindstorms EV3, VW Bus, new Pirates and new Ultra Agents. Only thing of note at David Jones Brisbane CBD was a few Simpsons Houses (not exactly hard to find) and a whole bunch of the DJs exclusive Fairground Mixers (which for some reason dont seem to be selling...) Don't waste your time with Big W Brisbane CBD, they had absolutely ZERO clearance items left. Mr Toys Brisbane CBD had a fairly full range of stock including a whole bunch of those Winter Village Markets (that also seem not to be selling...) Oh and one more thing, for those out there who have been looking for one, MYER had stock of the Super Heroes Braniac Attack. So anyone out there who wants one, hit up your local MYER. BTW does anyone know who will be getting the City exclusives (Hovercraft Arrest and Water Plane Chase) this year?

I suspect the Big W sale will have long gone by the time you get here (if current reports of "xyz store has been cleaned out" are anything to go by) Also there isn't any Big W in Perth that is anywhere near the CBD or center of town There is a Big W in the Brisbane CBD but its crap. The low AUD might help if you happen to be in town at the same time as a 20% off sale at MYER or something.

Got my Cargo Train at Loganholme. None left on the LEGO shelves at Loganholme or Beenleigh (although I didn't search the entire store so there might have been another one elsewhere in the store)

Did Robina have any cargo trains in stock? (at any price)

Seen various reported deals including Lego Movie SSS! for $90 Metalbeards Sea Cow $220 AT-AT $90 Cargo Train $150 Technic Cargo Plane $100 B-Wing $45 Ultra Agents Truck $80 Battle for NinjaGo City $80 If you can get to a Big W (especially one that might actually have stock) DO IT and DO IT NOW, some of these deals are the bargain of the century (although even at $220 the Sea Cow is overpriced for what it is) $150 on the cargo train though is a bargain and I am seriously tempted by it.

It seems to me like the Exo-Suit is the only Ideas set to date that isn't based on something that already exists (either something from the real world or something from a movie/TV show)

Its possible the hair mold has been produced for another set somewhere and the Ideas team just happen to be using it.

Picked up the McLaren today, its not a bad set, only wish it was either yellow or orange rather than that "its almost yellow but its not" orange they used. (or is there an actual real world color for the McLaren P1 that matches what LEGO used?)

I thought you couldn't buy licensed parts like that from Bricks & Pieces... In any case I ended picking up the Green Lantern set at a local store that was having a 20% off sale. Not too bad for the green lantern fig, an interesting Batman variant (I have enough regular batmen but I dont have Space Batman) and a bunch of interesting parts in various shades of green and trans green :)

Toys R Us Garden City has Simpsons House, Elves, Ecto-1, Marvel and DC Super Heroes, a bunch of Architecture including the Lincoln Memorial (first sighting in Australia as far as I know), Speed Champions and the dark green Mini. Big W has Marvel and DC Super Heroes and Speed Champions. Target has Simpsons House plus Marvel and DC Super Heroes. Oh and the new Pirate Ship plus the Creator parrot (something else I haven't seen in stores before) K-Mart has the Agents Toxica set (with the guy in the white radiation suit) on clearance for $45 and the big double blade helicopter thing on clearance for $49. None of the trucks though. They do have DC, Marvel, Speed Champions and Elves. MYER has Speed Champions, Marvel and DC. (picked up the Green Lantern set, the small Iron Man set and the McLaren at the 20% off sale)

What are the chances (given where DC is going and which characters its focusing on) that Green Lantern will appear in a smaller set anytime soon? Or should I just go ahead and buy the current Green Lantern set now before it disappears?

At least with Batman he actually has all sorts of vehicles in his arsenal and most of them are at least attempts at copying something from the Batman universe) Spider-Man has never had any actual vehicles in any of the movies although I think he may have been given a motorbike in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. He certainly never had a helicopter (as in 76016 or 4858 or 10687), a tricycle (as in 76014), a car (as in 10665) or a glider thing (as in 30302) in any of the source material I have ever seen

Has anyone seen the Green Lantern set at any MYER stores yet? I wasn't planning to hit the 20% off sale this weekend (I am going out on a massive massive as-yet-still-being-planned shopping odyssey on Tuesday for my birthday and I dont want to also go out this weekend) but if I can get 20% off the Green Lantern set (the one DC Super Heroes set I actually want) it might be worth going out...

LEGO has a good relationship with DC Comics already so I doubt they would have any problems getting permission to use DC stuff in this set...

It seems like there are an increasing number of cases where themes don't get released in a certain country for various reasons. Some countries have skipped specific CMF series for no good reason and IIRC there was at least one space theme a few years back that never saw a UK release. Thankfully Australia seems to get just about all of the product LEGO makes (as far as I know the only normal retail release of 2014 Australia didn't get was the X-Men set)

Mr Toys Beenleigh has the Sea Cow, Opera House, Winter Village Market, 5 Elves sets (all except the biggest one), all 4 DC sets, the 2 smaller Disney Princess sets, Speed Champions McLaren P1, Speed Champions Ferrari 458, Speed Champions McLaren Pit Stop, Avengers Hulkbuster, Avengers Iron Man Ultron and the Avengers set with the 4x4 and dune buggy. Big W Beenleigh has Elves (don't remember seeing the smallest set but the rest are all there), the Speed Champions Ferrari Truck and the Porsche 918. Oh and the answer to the "mistake" from up-thread is that they are on sale at Beenleigh right now at $22 (so $6 off normal Big W RRP)

Thanks. it confirms that no, the wheels on the McLaren wont fit the normal City mudguards.

Most likely it will result in Big W publishing a correction saying "the catalog was incorrect, the correct save is $3 not $6" or whatever.

Is there someone who can take some photos comparing the size of the wheels and tires from the City set 60053 Race Car with the size of the wheels and tires on the McLaren P1?

Beenleigh Big W (as of earlier today) were definatly selling them at $28.

Or even better than that, a Space Pirate Castle like this one I built many years ago :)

If Big W didn't actually sell them at the $31 price tag, they can get in trouble with the ACCC under false and misleading advertizing laws.
