Great tower. Love the texture of it, and all the landscape details that you have been able to fit in a base of this size. Awesome !- 28 replies

Ch II: Team Simon: Cat C: The Betrayal.

Really like the general look of the scene (plateau, posing, rocks) but my favorite thing is the vegetation use , that really stands out. Nice MOC! -
AoM - Store Phase I: Market Fire.
Davidbarrena replied to Davidbarrena's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! Thank you. I'm finding that posing dwarfs (most of my sets come from the hobbit line , so I have a good number of them ) to get a "dynamic" look is quite difficult because of the fixed legs, but in this case, being able to use the cauldron as an anchor ended with a better result than I initially expected. -

I haven't seen a final date, but even if it is finished, I think I would use the list of categories as inspiration! -
AoM - Store Phase I: Market Fire.
Davidbarrena replied to Davidbarrena's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks everybody for your comments. Glad you liked it (If you cannot impress them with your techniques, at least make them laugh ) Thanks. It is the only part in the display that it was not straightforward to build (for me), and took some attempts to get a (more or less) natural aspect., BTW, the (admittedly fragile) tree broke a couple of times during the build, when trying to adjust the leaves. Does anyone have any advice to avoid this problem? Thank you for your advice, specially for pointing the areas in need of improvement. I'm here to learn, and this is very helpful. My next build (already in progress) is more focused (although I'll still put some dwarves here and there to spice the scene ), and has a couple of more complex (for my beginner level) techniques that I hope will give it a more "finished" look Regards, D. -
Fracture Collab Display NOW WITH DETAIL SHOTS

Awesome!! The full display is even better than the sum of the (already incredible) different parts. -

Store Phase I: Market Fire Regards, D. -
Back with another AoM MOC. Another "everyday life" scene, this time for the phase I of the Store subcategory. Market day in the Blackbear clan lands is never peaceful. The market guards always have something to do, and if the lampmaker has the "good" idea of burning the lamps so the customers can appreciate his craftmanship...well, another day in the market Hope you like it. C&C are (as always) welcome. Regards, D.

Very dynamic & chaotic battle (as battles should be ), and the irregular terrain brings it to life. Great build!- 32 replies

Wow! I agree with you in that having it to be a desolate landscape works better that a crowded landscape for this scene. (Love the first photograph, with the two towers out of focus, and your sigfig in the front. )

Very fun translation of a SEAL team to Historica, and very nice boat and scenery too. -
Nothing more to add to what it has been said (amazing ship, water, waves...well, just everything :), but had to write it...Wow!! It is good to be in GoH, even if it is just to see works like this

AoM - Mill Phase I: In the company of wolves.
Davidbarrena replied to Davidbarrena's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks all for your encouraging comments! I'm already planning the next AoM entry :) Indeed. I've always found in many creative fields that having (or artificially setting) some limitations sparks your creativity and improves the final results (that doesn't mean that I'm not wishing to add a lot of bricks&pieces to my collection ) -

AoM - Mill Phase I: In the company of wolves.
Davidbarrena replied to Davidbarrena's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks everybody for your comments! To be honest, I don't have any horse yet, so I used what I had, and the story came later Thanks for the advice. I'll add white tiles to the "basics" shopping list (already including, among others: grey bricks, blue&transparent pieces for water...and horses) -
