  1. Thank you. Thanks. The approach to the wall edges started off with a previous build in which I discovered I didn't have enough 1x1 bricks in the necessary colour to finish the walls neatly. I decided I liked how it looked and used the style again for this.
  2. @Kwatchi thanks. I was debating with myself whether or not to go with this until I saw your MRCA results post. As for Jack Yharnam's ghostly form, I put it together quite a while ago and have been looking for an excuse to use it.
  3. I wouldn't worry about that too much, the sketch is rather overdone in some parts on account of being considered one of the classic Monty Python sketches. With that said, the MOC is certainly pleasing to the eye. I quite like the build for the cage. And it's reminding me that I really need to get a greater variety of tile for floors and smoothing out the tops of interior scene builds.

  5. With both the Mirthless Jest and Maiden of the Deep captured, their captains - Jacqueline "Jack" Yharnam and Elspeth Harrow - were handed over to Eslandolan officials to face justice. However... Somewhere in an Eslandolan office... “Let me get this straight. We captured two notorious pirates, who were to be hung by the neck until dead this morning. And instead, when your best men went to retrieve said pirates from the gaol, they found their cells empty.” “Yes sir.” “And you have no explanation?” “No reasonable explanation, sir.” “Alright, what’s the unreasonable one?” “When we found Captain Yharnam’s cell empty, the prisoner in the cell adjacent was terrified. He told us of a story he had heard; that Jacqueline Yharnam had received the black spot and cut off her hand in order to escape the curse it supposedly comes with. This, according to the prisoner, left her trapped between the living and the dead.” “Superstitious nonsense.” “That’s what the prisoner believed, until last night. Apparently, shortly after sundown she underwent some kind of transformation that left her less than corporeal.” “Less than… what, she turned into a ghost and walked out?” “That is what the prisoner claims to have seen, sir.” “I take it there’s some equally preposterous excuse for the escape of the other one.” “Not as such, sir.” “No?” “Elspeth Harrow severely injured, mained or killed a dozen of our soldiers before being subdued sufficiently to incarcerate. She was manacled, chained by the ankle, masked to prevent biting and locked up in the deepest hole we could find for her. There are no available witnesses to her escape, but we believe Miss Yharnam helped her escape. We found the chain unfastened and discarded manacles, along with a trail of bodies leading to a missing ship.” “So not only did we fail to execute or even contain them, these pirates are now at large again?” “Yes, sir.”
  6. There is no pirate series. The next series, due May, is a standard series and the one after that is the Ninjago movie. The "rumour" is wishful thinking based on the teaser on the Lego Batman Movie series leaflet/checklist.
  7. I think people have mistaken a highwayman or town crier as a sign of another single-theme series.
  8. Mine was the third one I ID'd, the first two were ones other customers couldn't ID themselves. The cowl is easier to find than the claws, I think, but you need to know how long the 'ears' should be or else find one of the other parts to be sure.
  9. Three things: The Claws Utility Belt He's the only figure to use the short eared cowl, so if you find another Batman to compare it to you can ID him that way. (This was how I ID'd mine).
  10. Question: Is there a deadline for MRCA result/reaction/response builds? I have an idea for a build related to the Nov/Dec MRCA but haven't yet had opportunity to build and photograph it.
  11. There's nothing in the newsletter about posters.
  12. UK people, the Disco/Tears of Batman polybag is with purchases of £50 or more from Feb 6th to Feb 26th. Posting a picture to my instagram (kaijusbricks) shortly.
  13. I'm pretty sure the polybag is free with purchases over £50 for most of February, but can't remember the dates to hand. Might see if they have the newsletters handy in store tomorrow.
  14. Just checked the sites for Smyths (Expecting them next week) and The Entertainer (No listings I could find). It looks like other retailers haven't received their stock yet. Hopefully it isn't going to be like last year, where everyone else only got the DC superhero sets months after the Lego Store started selling them.
  15. No, but having a Lego Store nearby helps with that.
  16. That is quite an amusing work of fiction, and a very good looking little alleyway you've built there.
  17. Just finished building Killer Croc's Tail-gator, which I picked up from the Manchester Arndale Lego Store. Arrived shortly after opening to find quite a queue but it had thinned out by the time I was done minifig hunting. With a little help from some of the other customers I grabbed Harley, Orca, Catman, Red Hood and Glam Metal Batman for myself along with Joker and Fairy Batman for my girlfriend. Oddly, Toys R Us didn't seem to have any Lego Batman Movie sets out.
  18. For what it's worth. it looks like those are being sold through Tesco Direct rather than by Tesco themselves, Amazon Marketplace style.
  19. They're store exclusives. Lance vs Lightning is out at Toys R Us.
  20. Most of the sets are now available from Lego stores in the UK.
  21. At least we Sea Rats can laugh at our misfortune.
  22. I have an open offer from a certain Sea Rat troublemaker who recently acquired a few spare ships. I'm still mulling it over.
  23. Agreed. I may not like the results, but at least they were much easier to find.
  24. And I guess I'm done with the MRCA. Pretty sick of losing ships at this point.
