  1. This is pretty much my first real attempt at landscaping, so please bear that in mind. The Shrines of Haven As the town's name suggests, Haven was founded with the idea of providing a sanctuary to those Sea Rats who found themselves following Roland Blaze and the exploratory fleet. Blaze asked for little but the willingness to help defend each other. Consequently, quite an eclectic assortment of faiths wound up being practised in Haven. Until suitable separate structures could be built a small communal shrine building was put up housing four of the largest faiths in the settlement. The north facing side houses a shrine to Oleon's triumvirate. Facing east sits a dedication and ritual sun dial for the worshippers of Helia. The southern side is home to idols representing the Mother of Creation and Serpent of Destruction. The western facing saw the installation of a shrine to the Truachesh neh Triuri. However, some faiths are practised away from the light of day. The discovery of a cave and pool beneath the knoll represented a significant opportunity and one of the last Blackwater Witches set up a shrine to their sinister patron.
  2. That looks like a very well built little ship. You probably want to go post it in the monthly freebuild thread. Looks like you already did.
  3. Thanks for the clarification.
  4. I could have sworn it was mentioned in the Fort entry, but I can't find it now either.
  5. Well, I guess losing my ship in my first MCRA puts me in good company.
  6. True, it definitely is one of the less offensive pranks. Though next time you might want to work on your time zones. Some of us were rapidly approaching April 2nd when we saw this.
  7. Just want to check, are minifigs in LDD builds also being counted for the population?
  8. I just noticed the Chima crystal as splashing water and think that's a really clever touch.
  9. from the Sea Rats. Swordfighting schools, with their own traditions and techniques, were hardly exclusive to the east so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Tempted to try MoCing up one of my own after seeing this. (Mental note order more rapiers).
  10. Got halfway through uploading my builds (sans preview images) before noticing the "level" drop-down. Doh. And the first one I did notice it on, I only spotted the spelling mistake in the title after submitting the build. PlusDoh.
  11. Last time someone used the Nexo Knight enemy faction as natives there was a recurring notion the skin tone was dye/paint and that they were still humans. And a sea monster wouldn't be out of genre. I'm running some subtle supernatural stuff through my own builds as well, which reminds me I really need to do that "Five Histories of Leon Dracken" at some point soon.
  12. Lycanthropy is a bit of a grey area. I'd be unsurprised if the powers that be take issue with this. I suspect actual rat people are right out.
  13. I'm impressed by the false stern "front" in the first build. It's probably much easier to work with than the stern of a fully built ship.
  14. Really digging the look of that chair, and the drinks cabinet.
  15. Thanks. Using the LDD revealed how easy it is for a mono-colour build to lose detail, especially with darker colours. I was already using browns and gold for some of the furniture so I added a bit more to help break things up. I find the Nexo Knights globlins strangely adorable so have been determined to feature them somewhere; they make pretty good depictions of "native volcano spirits".
  16. I apparently wasn't paying attention last time I looked at this, because that's an impressive build for the fortifications.
  17. Thank you. I actually partially disassembled the cabin from a wip ship for this scene. Thank you (and that gives me an idea for the next part of the story, bricks permitting). Thank you. I was worried the storytelling would be the weak part, I'm a little rusty. Thank you.
  18. Welcome to the Sea Rats.
  19. This week I bought two sheets of 5mm foamboard to use as a photography back drop and set up.
  20. That's odd because they're working on all my devices and browsers.
  21. That's a great room you've built there. Nice touch with the diamond floor tiling.
  22. That's a nice, simple, elegant design. I like the colours as well, though I may be biased in that regard.
  23. Work-In-Progess shots of the Bleak Angel The rest behind the spoiler button:
