They actually do in a flashback, but don't say it explicitly as far as I can tell - several wizards are shown confronting him and then it fades to just Merlok. The episode was in another language, so I didn't understand much of anything.

I can't see them releasing any non-Oriental themed building for a Ninjago set - even though the setting is a city, all the buildings for Ninjago we've gotten before have been pretty much temples - with the previously mentioned BFNC, they even had to write in a reason as to why it's a temple in the middle of the city in the TV show - so I can see them doing the same type of thing here.

Don't know if this confirms their legitimacy, but it's extremely strange for any official Lego employee to retweet a leaked list, which makes me think there may be some truth to it... Note the "Dan and Kevin Hageman Retweeted"

Been rewatching trailers, looking at set descriptions, and thinking about the odd polybag or so when I thought of what the brief outline of the film may be: We open in Act I with an action sequence. Batman is chasing many of the villains in 70905 (The Batmobile and several of the sets will be featured, such as 70902 (Catwoman's Bike), 70903 (Riddler Car), 70906 (Joker Car), 70907 (Killer Croc Truck), 70904 (Clayface), and 70911 (Penguin's Car). The villains have gotten past security because Scarecrow in 70910 (Pizza Delivery) has scared away all the guards with evil pizza. The summer set villain vehicles also appear here, except for Harley's truck (we'll get to that). We get to the warehouse/sewer area seen at the beginning of the latest trailer, where Batman has to disable the bomb featured in 70900. He patronizes the Joker and lets him go to stop the bomb, and the Joker leaves feeling hurt and disgruntled. At the end, we see the shot in Trailer #1 where the public honors Batman for saving them from the bomb. Batman returns home and we see a glimpse into how lonely he is. In Act II, the Joker then formulates a new plan to attack during Barbara Gordon's ceremony inviting Batman to join the police force, practicing for the next encounter like in 30523 (Joker Battle Training Polybag). This is when he recruits all the obscure and wacky villains. During this time, Batman has been building his relationship with Robin in many shots seen in the trailers. He takes Robin with him to the ceremony, where they are all attacked by the ragtag team of villains. 70901 (Mr. Freeze's Mech) shows up to freeze over the lake, which can be seen in the box art of 70908 (Scuttler). Batman Master Builds the Scuttler, rescuing Barbara and Robin (as they are in non-superhero outfits in the Scuttler set). He manages to capture all the villains and send them to Arkham. Now, this is where things are a little confusing. This is where we jump deeper into the realm of speculation. We've seen in the trailer a shot of Batman, Barbara, Robin, and Alfred running away from a destroyed Arkham. Robin is in a prison outfit as well. Here's my theory: Batman sends Robin in undercover in Arkham, and Robin discovers the Joker is planning something very bad. During this time, we see Harleen Quinzel transform into Harley Quinn, because she is oddly absent from the first two attacks as far as the trailers go. The set description and set video of 70912 (Arkham) state that Batman comes to banish Joker to the Phantom Zone. However, clearly something goes wrong and Batman himself gets stuck in the Phantom Zone (30522 polybag). My theory is that both Batman and the Joker get stuck in the Phantom Zone, but the Joker finds a way out and a.) either he also finds a way to jump to alternate worlds from the Phantom Zone and recruits villains from other universes (Daleks, Gremlins, Flying Monkeys, etc) OR b.) he finds a way to free these beings from imprisonment in the Phantom Zone. As the Joker returns to Gotham with his new army, Batman follows close behind, but is delayed by the security forces of the Phantom Zone (the spiky red thing in the polybag). Eventually, he makes his way out, rescuing Barbara, Robin, and Alfred from Arkham just as the Joker destroys it with his new army (trailer shot of Robin ripping off the prison outfit). The four escape in the Batwing and Barbara becomes Batgirl. They return to the Batcave to find that the Joker has gotten there first, prompting the break-in (70909). I assume they fight him off and Batman recruits the Justice League for help, who are in the middle of a party (two trailer scenes). From here, there's not enough information left to deduce the end of the film and the "moral lesson" we all know it will have. Let me know what you think and whether or not you agree with my predicted synopsis. I'll certainly be wondering if I got at least something right... Thanks for reading!

Eh, I dunno - personally I really enjoyed them and the unique challenge the Vermillion pose to the ninja - and the time manipulation aspect is always great. That said, there is a lot of action, which may detract a bit from the storyline. As far as this action, though, I really enjoy the creativity behind some fights, which have definitely improved since Rebooted days...

Where can we see these details? Also, I pretty much got that vibe just from watching the episodes, but thanks anyway!

This was discussed back when NK first came out and that's what the magazine mentioned. As far as the keychain, it's probably because it doesn't fit over armor.
