*Your entry has earned 7 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* Previously A new horror awaits the scientist on the other side of the portal. The air is cold, there's something dead in the air, and he hears chains dangling in the wind. Above him a ghostly tree sways it's translucent branches and leaves. Something is hanging from it... Colonist on Mortis As his eyes adjust to the glowing tree and portal to make out the drawn, four-armed man dead in the tree, the portal closes behind him...

*Your entry has earned 14 XP* Prelude Dark skies over Sinton Imperial Outpost OO666. Pilot Klask Rio and his crew have been drugged, arrested, and kept for weeks in a pit behind the outpost. Their only companions are Iktotchi locals. No one in the jail pit were hardened criminals or seemed to have committed any real crimes. Of the locals they had a couple of tax evaders, a shop owner that failed a health inspection, and the mother of a delinquent teen. The teen hadn't been accounted for... Outpost OO666 was a mere local law enforcement office when the people of Sinton petitioned the Empire for it's installation. For the last few years a skeleton crew of the Dekastar Allegiance, one of many Imperial Remnants still operating in the Mid Rim, had started cracking down on the non-human "contracted" labor on the planet. Aside from the mining industry's utilization of slave labor, provided and enforced by the Empire, the inhabitants also found themselves increasingly targeted by the Imperial municipal leaders. It started with the cragmoloids disappearing, likely to the same pit. The quermian's were sent into the mines to replace them, but did not last long. Iakaru workers started asking questions and were gathered to the pit overnight. Now it the pit was full of Iktotchi and Mon Calamari. The truth of OO666 was much worse than the prisoners could imagine.

*Your entry has earned 9 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* One day the transports stopped coming. For Mon Calamari pilot Klask Raio, his dreams of finding work with one of the Imperial contractors flying supply missions in and out of Sinton was dashed. Not many cycles ago, Klask and his crew took on a seemingly simple contract to transport medical supplies to the planet. They had known the planet was a work camp for Imperial dissidents, but felt reassured that they could do their part to ease the burden of the workers by bringing antibiotics, dressings, medicinal spice, and supplemental vitamins. Even as they made landing and saw the sickly populace were they confident in their decision to take the contract. But, the few non-humans that they saw around the port were quiet, bent low, and obviously malnourished - not the relieved and welcoming populace they expected to find. Making their way to the local cantina, the crew began to feel quite uneasy. Shops began to close as they walked by, eateries started turning over chairs and sweeping floors, and the looks they got from local patrons made them feel most unwelcome. One cantina owner called them in with a friendly wave. Presumably eager for business, he pulled tables together, lit candles, and started filling their cups with the best local ferments. A few members of the local garrison even raised their glasses to the crew and smiled in greeting. The Mon Calamari ate like kings. They awoke the next morning surrounded by Iktotchi. Heads pounding. Dehydrated. In a pit. Light coming only from a door to the side and a walkway above. Booted footsteps rattled the metal walkway above as someone slowly walked back and forth above them. Scared and confused, they begged for answers. The Iktotchi told them they were brought in the night before, presumably intoxicated, and assured them that the warden had called up their first comrade to awaken and their situation should be sorted out soon. Klask surveyed the room and realized their navigation officer, a Mon Calamari cousin from the polar regions of Mon Cala, was the only one missing. Roddari, an astute communicator and inquisitive navigator, was sure to get them out of this. But he never returned. Weeks had passed. No answers were offered. Their own ship had been seen leaving the planet and not a single resupply had come in since. The garrison watched them closely...

Factions - Introduction, Discussion, and Core Rules

Guys, there's no formal switch between factions. If Ross says you can be in CE, you're in, there's nothing you need from MKJ or I. You can even go back and forth and build for whoever you want, whenever they the faction leader says it's okay. -
*Your entry has earned 7 XP* Researcher Cephas Oray Guellah continues her research with two thousand year old droid, F-5R, survivor of the massive reactor meltdown that irradiated the planet's population. Cephas hides out amongst the cogs of machinery, where local pirates, mad scientists, and Reavers have difficulty detecting her equipment. One day she hopes to unlock the secrets Malagarr's surviving crustaceans have in withstanding the planet's radiation so that she can heal so many victims across the galaxy.

*Your entry has earned 12 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* Vinsoth had a long history of slavery, starting with the enslavement of the Chev species by Chevin overlords. During the reign of the Empire, slavers strengthened their ties with the criminal underworld, while appeasing half-hearted decrees from the Galactic Senate. After the Battle of Endor, economic pressure from the Confederacy of Free Systems, an amalgamation of free systems banning together to allow for free, open trade and industrial standards, made calls for Chev liberation more popular. Chevin native, Ephant Mon, uses his underworld contacts and increasingly desperate bandits to safely free any force-sensitive slaves found on Vinsoth.

Limited Time Challenge! [Updated for June]

Raiders “Oh, the stories I could tell. So many of them true.” ―Hondo Ohnaka Special challenge, from now till October 5th you can earn double XP (and double IP if built on an eligible planet). The only criteria is your MOC must include at least 5 pirates or brigands and include "Raiders" in the entry title. Pirate-retrofitted land vehicles* are also highly encouraged, but not required. No limit on number of entries, but do post quality builds. *When retro-fitting a land vehicle, we HIGHLY discourage MODing existing LEGO sets or using the design from a LEGO set. The amount of detail and often the scale in those sets is typically miserable, and we want to see your designs anyway. -

Thanks. I'm very torn about that shot. I had something cleaner in mind, but still trying to learn some editing tricks -
[J7 - Iridonia - CFS] Intrigue on Iridonia: Swoop Slums

@Ross Fisher he checked all the boxes for the LTC as far as I can tell. I think it should be scored as a freebuild (with the LTC bonus applying independently), but as a judge you can score it as you like. -
*Your entry has earned 10 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* Spoils hidden in the irradiated wastelands of Malagarr apparently are quite diverse. For researcher Cephas Oary Guellah, it was a hard case of the crabs. When the planet went to waste, persistent crabs were the only thing the radiation couldn’t comb from the landscape. Now she hopes by catching crabs and transmitting them to her secret laboratory, that she can once and for all find a way for organic life to survive constant radiation in space. The local criminal cartel has been guarding Malagarr since the civilizations death rattle years ago. Gathering the remaining droids and mining the technology left behind, they have carved out some profit, but have yet to hit it big. They know something magnanimous is lurking on the planet, but while they don’t know what that is yet, they sure as hell aren’t going to let anybody else get to it.

*Your entry has earned 16 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* All eyes are on Iridonia for the Kathadi Classic and an unlikely spectacle of a man. Some call him "the Imp," "the Scout," "Traitor," "Bumbling Idiot," "Son of Iridonia," "Shame of Tython," but he merely registers as "3928," reportedly his L9 designation under the Empire. A veteran of the Tatooine Occupation, the Endor Massacre, and some business on Nar Eurbrikka, he returns to his home world of Iridonia as a prodigal son to compete in our time-honored races. Just tailing him in the first lap is a local favorite, the flighty, flightless bird-man "Flux" Horda Hoipy, flying right at you with his custom Cresent Sickle! Even though he doesn't have wings, he is known for his 3-dimensional spatial awareness, so he's the most agile racer in this circuit - with aerial acrobatics second to none. Be sure to go see him when he's not racing. He's not only a local-hero-racer, but he's also a renowned dentist in the western districts. Open on the weekends, get on down to Hiopy Dentistry; accepts all insurers.

I think you're right. the wings were the first thing I did and then decided to got with the Operation Hennessy look with more muted colors. Still liked the hint of blue though. More white on the back would help, too. Thanks. I was going for a Jaws shot with a reveal as you scroll. I was also surprised by the pattern that ended up with the triangles, so I do like that angle.

[Factions Ep. 6 - Cat A][L13 - Fondor - CFS] Never Again
goatman461 replied to goatman461's topic in Factions Archive
Thank you. Was definitely going for chaotic. Thanks. I take it that some of the details bug you? Let me know what didn't work. Ha! Thanks. I wonder what Freud would say about me making this and you being uncomfortable with it. I ended up going with something as sexually graphic as one could get with phallic shaped building vs. tentacle beast that I could do with the posing. @pombe has had a terrible, corrupting effect on all of us in the CFS. -

*Your entry has earned 10 XP* "It's time to get these crooked megablocks. [spits] Hugo, light up that cruiser with the gallaghers. Carl, my gun..." The Imperial forces did not account for all of the ships in the nearby systems. Those particularly registered under the Confederacy of Free Systems had crews that remembered their lives under the galactic overlords, and some had the grant money to get their ships anywhere they wanted to go. Alistair Hennessey's research vessel, the C.F.S. Eleanor was ready for a fight. Neither asteroids or Imperial forces could keep Operation Hennessey from any prize. "Thank you Carl. All power to the engines. It's time to hunt down these sickos." The Battle of Kril'dor has begun.

*Your entry has earned 18 XP* A lonely Arquitens-class light cruiser reports in from the enemy's outer perimeter. With news of coordinated attacks against Moff Pyerce's fleets, the blockade of Kril'dor is nervous. No military vessels are known to be in the sector. But that does not comfort the battered and beaten Imperial crews. With nothing to report, the Arquitens moves on... PROXIMITY ALERT! COMMS JAMMED! The attack has begun! Alistair Hennessey's research vessel, the C.F.S. Eleanor was ready for a fight. Neither asteroids or Imperial forces could keep Operation Hennessey from any prize. The Battle of Kril'dor has begun.

*Your entry has earned 18 XP* The Tridents came down on Fondor. Pyerce's bold attack on the system brought Imperial sympathizers out of hiding, en masse. Non-human populations on planet were forced out of their jobs as by nativist Fondorian unions. Strike team ranks quickly swelled. Intel was readily available on the ground. Trident-class Assault Ships and Dwarf-Tridents were loaded and dropped in to disrupt the leadership of both Imperials and collaborating union leaders. The ensuing battle and liberation of Fondor was sure to be a warning to all those who would see the return of oppression and villainy against those who have tasted freedom.
