Somnium was just getting back to the tower, when he saw his mysterious leader guy standing in his place. Oh. Um. Shall I still go up there? Will I be, like, invading his space? Hm. Maybe I'll just stay down here, and let the soldiers run past me to the bridge. And I can still fire at the enemy from down here. Somnium lined up a bolt, no, arrow, and aimed carefully at an enemy pikeman. Some Red Valiant Spearman or something. Then, with a simple release of his fingers, he sent the top quality arrow whizzing through the air into... the back of a Scorpion Soldier's head. Damn! Why do they have to always get in the way. Maybe I should lay off the combat for a while. And with that, Somnium silently slipped away from the fray of battle and climbed down to a little ledge on the cliff under the bridge. There he sat happily, skimming stones across the water and watching corpses float down the river.

Wow, to be honest I didn't expect another month so soon after the last month. You know, theme month. This doesn't mean I'm opposed to it though, I look forward to seeing everything Indy! Just don't tell me any spoilers from the new movie, I still haven't seen it yet. ~Peace

I made another character, Somnium. He's the archer I walloped with a stone in the tower. So, you know, don't kill him. Maybe just wound and capture him. ~Peace

Somnium had an aching headache from that stones-throw, as well as an unsightly dent in his helmet and a lack of weapon of any sort. As well as that, he ahd no idea how to get down from the tower, or how they got up. Eventually he skilfully scaled down the wall, and fled back to the safety of their ranks. Heading for a weapons booth, he bumped into a Scorpion Commander. Hey, son! Why aren't you fighting?! Where's your weapon?! I was hit in the head with a stone, sir. I dropped my bow, so I- Ah, you must have been stationed on the tower, huh? Well then, let me help you out. What's your name, son? Somnium Bowman, sir. Scorpion Crossbowman. What? Are you a bowman or a crossbowman? No, sir, my name is Somnium Bowman. My profession is a Scorpion Knight Crossbowman. Night Crossbowman? Never heard of them. No, sir, I'm just a regular crossbowman! Alright, no need to get testy. Come on, I'll make sure to get you a quality bow, of your choice. You men up in those towers are vital for this invasion. We lose those towers, we lose our advantage! And as I say, no advantage is a disadvantage! And that would mean a fair fight. Which is actually unfair, as we are at a disadvantage without our advantage! Uh, yes. Of course. Well then, lets go! So Somnium and the Commander journeyed the 12 feet through sweaty, smelly troops until they finally, after about a minute, reached the weapons vendor. Hi there! Ah yes, hi, can we have a large Scorpius Blade, uh, one of them Scorpio Shields, a large bad of fries... hey, what do you want? Can I have a... Yep... yep... a long bow and a large quiver of arrows! The good ones. The good ones! Sure can do! We'll get those to you in a moment. Please walk through the the next window! Somnium and the Commander walked through to the next window. Hi there! Here's your order, have a nice day! Aren't you the guy from the other window? Why yes, I am! We're short on staff! Have a nice day! Okay.. thanks. And so, with his brand new long-bow, Somnium made his way back to the tower...

EBRP General Information and Character thread.
iamded replied to Khorne's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Inspired by my slightly off-topic rant in the EBRP, here's another character! Name: Somnium Bowman Age: Twenty-four. Faction: Scorpion Knights Class: Crossbowman Equipment: Quiver, crossbow, standard Scorpion Knight uniform. Background: Somnium came from humble beginnings, didn't do very well in school, and with all the propaganda around was convinced that the army was the best way to go. He had been taught from a young age that Morcia was bad and evil, they would steal your lunch money and throw you in garbage cans. He joined up at 19 after trying to save up for a cool sword for over a year but always frivolously spending his money away so he could never afford one. On his day of departure from home, his father gave him a grand sword, so that whenever he was in the midst of war, he could always remember his family. When after a year in the army, he found he was a much better archer than swordsman, so he sold his sword for a flash new crossbow, which was just outdated again in a month by the Crossbow 9,000 (that's the silver model). He has so far been in the army for 5 years next week, has been taught that the Dragon Masters and all their allies are bad and evil, they would steal your women and children and throw you in pits of spikes. Also that dragons were big and evil and not at all just misunderstood. Being just another pawn of the Scorpion Knights, he believed all this, and is now fighting at The Ravine; Dromindur; Dragon Masters territory. He recently was hit in the helmet with a flying rock, dropped his bow into a river, and has retreated to get another. Looks: -
M10 Dromindur; The Ravine Ah, that was good. Nothing better than chicken legs, apples, croissants and bananas, 'Cause that's all we ever seem to have 'round here. Adym was full, and now was starting to get curious as to what the yelling and crashing was outside. He stepped out of the door, and was surprised to see Scorpion Knights clashing with Dragon Knights. Why he was surprised, I don't know. Surely he expected/suspected something to happen. Now, the soldiers clashing on the bridge seemed fair enough, relatively even amounts of soldiers fighting at the same time. However, it didn't seem fair that the Scorpion Knights had archers firing down at the good guys, as they had the advantage of high ground and thus they could see more and shoot farther. This certainly was not fair, and as Adym realised this an arrow came whizzing into his left arm. Oh, damn! Adym quickly ducked back inside, where it was nice and safe, and there was food. He took a bite out of another croissant, then picked up a good sized stone, put it back down again after remembering there was an arrow in his arm, pulled the arrow out of his gears and trinkets, picked up the stone again, peeked out of the tavern, hurled the rock at an enemy archer, and watched as he accidentally dropped his bow into the waters below, shaking his head in annoyance at the no doubt reverberating clang of stone hitting metal Scorpion Knight helmet. The Scorpion Knight archer who was standing on top of the tower then sat down against the wall, under cover, with a mighty headache. Man, what the hell? Did you see that? That weirdo guy with the somehow immune-to-pain arm just threw a rock at me! A rock! Yeah, I saw. The other archer ducked behind the crenelations as well, reloading his crossbow. Sounded painful. You must have one hell of a head ache. Oh man, you don't know the half of it. Ah damnit, where's my bow? Dude, you dropped it into the river. Oh, man! I just got that! Hey man, why do we use crossbows anyway? They take ages to reload, I actually prefer normal bows. Like longbows. Oh man, one day I'm gonna get a long bow. Then we'll see who's droppin' their bow. I don't get it. Well, it won't be me. I'll be holdin' on tight to my bow. Eh, I prefer crossbows. Once you get used to loading them, it's all good. You just aim and squeeze the trigger. No pulling back the string and getting it all lined up and everything. Way easier. And they use bolts, not sissy little arrows. Hey man, arrows are all good. You just have to get the right ones. You just don't like them because of that time when you cheaped out and bought those crappy arrows so you could afford a keg of wine as well. The bows really only as good as the arrows. Unless it's a long bow. Yeah, well, I still like my crossbow. Well, to each his own, I guess... You know we're supposed to be fighting, right? Oh yeah, crap! I gotta go get another bow, be right back! Heh, yeah. Why don't you see if they have a long bow for you. And with that, Mister Purple-font Scorpion Knight went back to firing bolts down on the good guys, while Mister Maroon-font Scorpion Knight went back to get a new crossbow, yet silently wishing for a long bow. Meanwhile, Adym picked up another rock and took aim at the other archer...

Review - Agents 8635 Mobile Command Center
iamded replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I see you've also learnt to call dibs. Looking forward to seeing your review!! EDIT: Oh, I see! I just arrived early. A truely fantastic review, you make me not want to pass this set up, even though I can't possibly afford it without leaving my beloved Castle collecting. It really looks like a fun set, so many neat vehicles, and two laptops, I can't wait to see what other sets we'll see them in. Thanks again, great job! ~Peace -
Thanks for the pic, Navy Trooper Fenson! Darnit, just when I'd gotten over the Giant Castle Chess Set! ~Peace

Another great interview, guys! Stauder, those speech bubbles look really good. And the fonts really match the people! ~Peace

Review: 7886 Batman - The Batcycle: Harley Quinn's Hammer Truck
iamded replied to Deinonychus's topic in LEGO Licensed
This set looks really fun! The figs are sweet, can't wait to see that Jester in the flesh. Of course, the Jester I'm talking about is the castle one but that doesn't mean Harley isn't a sweet fig! Thanks for that awesome review, Deinonychus! ~Peace -
Happy birthday Sinner! Have a good one! ~Peace

This is one amazing, detailed MOC with fantastic scenery. A truely great job, fantastic landscaping and architecture. ~Peace

These are truely great works, Amanda! Professional quality, they look awesome, I might just have to place and order, or get dragonator to place an order for me! Those Dwarf capes are very tempting, as are the skellie and troll capes, and those flags... I reckon a long cape with Crownie design would be awesome, and those extensions are awesome. ~Peace

Late to the thread again! Ah well, I'm here, and these look really cool! Firefly is really neat and looks very much like a picture I saw of him in google, which unfortunately I can't link here. The gangster looks great, that fedora is superb. The S.W.A.T people look really nice, although the colours seem a little strange (namely the brown), that's probably just because I haven't seen what they look like in BTAS. The, er, lady of the night looks very fitting too... The purple fedora on The Joker looks really great, very cool indeed! Those officers look very cool too, we saw them in your Gotham Station, didn't we? ~Peace

These are very cool, I particularly like the first boat and all the weapons, and the creative way of making that anchor. However, I'm one of those guys who doesn't like the non-uniform mix of grey and bley, so that detracts from the model. Still, it's a good build, and I love the SNOT look of it all, especially the deck of the first boat. Very cool. ~Peace

iamded replied to Francis Marion's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I gotta admit, I was surprised when I saw it wasn't dragonator who made this topic. I'm all for this cause, unfortunately I think dragons may be a tad bit to fit in a vignette, but I'd like to see what people can come up with. ~Peace -
Don't forget the Skeleton Chariot and Knight's Catapult, still to be released. As for my army, well, I posted the numbers in a different thread, and I'll post my pics after this coming weekend, when I get either another Dwarves Mine or the Troll Warship. ~Peace

Pagong seems like a lot more thought has been put into it, to be honest. These characters do seem much more interesting, and their fleshy colour as opposed to yellow gives it a more serious feel. Also, Pagong has Inga Onnatopa'u. ~Peace
-
But that wouldn't look nearly as cool now, would it? These are all very cool, simple in the creation, but really bringing out the greatness in the descriptions and backstory. Your army is growing with every day, or MOC, but it still is looking fantastic! A serious rival to those Bestlock forces. ~Peace

Would you look at that? Majiko and I were planning on grabbing a bite to eat then go off searching for you. It's a lot easier to have met you here, and save us the trouble from looking for you. I've parked my Attack Cart back there, you think it'll be alright? Hedges are looking nice, by the way. Oh yes, you probably want to hear about the situation at the Keep. Grim ran off and I think he got captured, and Ragnar said he was going to stay. Something about a baby dragon. Also, something about Councillor Scorpy... Scorpion.. or... Scorponator or something... anyway, I'm starving. We got lost in Scorpion Knight territory, but we made it here. So, what are we planning? Why does everyone have weapons on them? Did I miss something else? Should I grab my sword? Now, or after we eat? 'Cause I really am hungry. Adym got a few confused and startled looks, but that didn't stop him from rushing into the tavern and looking for food.

100 bucks? Damn! That's quite expensive, not quite what I'd pay for this seemingly simple yet very complicated decoration! It is very cool though, I'd never have the patience to make something like that. It does look very cool, and would get a lot of people quite amazed if I had that on display in my room. Might even make a good soccer ball. ~Peace

Seems I'm a bit (being majorly, having just noticed this was made in 2006) late for this, but seeing as it's been revived, why not leave a vote and a comment. I actually kind of sorta liked these guys. They make good evil, imposing enemies, I mean, we gotta have some bad guy to fight. I voted the Yeti seeing as it actually makes a good Yeti. Who really needs a giant Tiger anyway? Though I do like him, as he's orange and a tiger, two of my favourite things, but I just don't see the use of a giant bi-pedal tiger. Jun-Chi is awesome and detailed, but I see more use in a Yeti than an Asian demon. ~Peace

Thanks for the review Whitefang! Your additions look great, I like your mace much better than the use of a small technic cog, your looks much sturdier. And that helmet looks really great on skellie soldiers, I never thought to use that before. Very cool indeed! ~Peace

I'm a little confused. Is this the Indy set with that big plane? Thanks. ~Peace

Instructions for those who have forgotten about these sets. Sorry for the large pics, but I figured the resizer would do it's job to keep the thread tidy, and if you wanted a good view of the build, you can click the image to see a bigger version. ~Peace
