Amazon Ancient Ruins 5986 Review
iamded replied to voltio's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for this great review, voltio! I never knew of this set 'till now, and it really looks great! I never paid much attention to those Aztec/Incan style sets, which I now regret. I love the bright colours used here, and all the great traps, there's so many of them, which is exactly what we can expect from an old Incan temple like this one. I'm surprised there's no catapult. Anyway, the minifigs included are also great, and am I right in guessing those bricks are printed? That would be fantastic, as they look amazing. That boat hull is new to me too, although I guess the fact that it's mainly in Belville sets explains that pretty well. Thanks again for the sweet review, do you have any other Jungle Adventurers sets you plan to review? ~Peace -
New Line of Impulse sets available S@H
iamded replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Woohoo! They're available in NZ! Hopefully not long 'till they hit stores. EDIT: -
I voted Batbrick for the Impulse one. It comes with heaps of foliage pieces, which is something I really want, an islander, which is awesome, and a chicken leg, pot and barrel which are all useful for Castle. And the golden idol is a great addition. SlyOwl got my vote for the medium set, packed with playability, great minifigs, an awesome little boat, and a cool little island. The cannon and chest full of coins is also a big bonus. And lastly, Jason got my vote for the large class section. Some foliage for us, nice rock pieces, vines and a rope bridge, ah who am I kidding, the giant skull is the center piece of this set! I love skull sets. Great entries everyone! ~Peace

M10 Dromindur: The Ravine Adym and Magiko had been traveling for quite a long time now. Adym, though he was a genius with mechanics and inventing, had read the map wrong and ventured through Scorpion Knight territory, and, after a few near scrapes with enemy soldiers, somehow miraculously made it to Dromindur unharmed, though awfully hungry. Okay Magiko, I'm terribly sorry about the long wait, but at least we got here in one piece right? Hm, yes. No thanks to you. Okay, okay, sorry. I panicked. I can't read maps when I'm panicking. Anyway, how about I make it up to you by shouting you a bite to eat? Well, I don't think that would quite make up for what we've been through, but I am awfully hungry. Look, there's a tavern up ahead. And so Adym and Magico, tired and hungry, had at last made it to Dromindur, where, after getting a bite to eat, they would meet up with Lord Dragonator.

This is truly fantastic, Hinckley! I must say, it's a vast improvement on your first one. The brick built base and sides make it all the more better in my opinion, yet the Fabuland hood gives it a great look, that wonderful Fabuland feel. I think the mudguards look really great in this MOC, and the addition of doors is a major bonus, plus ten points. The back looks much better extended out like that, all the tools are awesome and the horn is a nice touch, along with the chrome headlights. The inclusion of the blue bucket with an ice-cube tray is a neat bonus. In conclusion this is a great work (I forgot to compliment the colour scheme, it really is fantastic!), and I really like all of your vehicles. I look forward to seeing more! ~Peace

Agents Mission 5: Turbo Car Chase - set #8634
iamded replied to Deinonychus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the awesome review, Deinonychus! This really is a sweet set, a bit expensive a set for me, as I only get the cheaper non-Castle sets, which is a shame because I love that head! It would be great for some more cyborg troops. The car is awesome, I didn't expect it to have that many silver parts, that's fantastic! Heaps of play features too, that ejector seat mechanism sounds interesting. Thanks again for the sweet review! ~Peace -
A fantastic MOC you've got here, oo7! Packed with great details and play features, this is one set I'd definitely pick up. The weapons rack is very cool, and I love the chain railing. A wonderful MOC! ~Peace

Yummy... Very clever and unique idea, Doctor S., it reminds me a lot of the show 'Fear Factor', if anyone's ever heard of it. ~Peace
-
Very neat! I like the railed pathways, and, unlike the official one, the roomy interior! Nicely done! ~Peace

Woo! A Go-cart! A very neat vig you've got here Rupi, very neat indeed! Cool building backdrop, and the guy's expression is priceless, the cap flying off his head is a nice touch. ~Peace

Review: 7884 Batman - The Buggy: The Escape of Mr Freeze
iamded replied to ???theriddler???'s topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review ???theriddler???. This is a neat little set, a bit overpriced in my opinion, but for a new suited Batman and a Mr Freeze fig in a set other than one of the most expensive Bat-sets released, it's worth my money. ~Peace -
Well, it doesn't say 'exclusive' on S@H, well the NZ one anyway, but I still haven't seen any in stores. We'll see. ~Peace

The Dark Knight versus Bane the Executioner
iamded replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I call them washing machine bricks. See what I mean? Of course, the 'proper' name (according to Peeron) is "Brick 1 x 1 with Headlight" but that's no fun. ~Peace -
Great job here, SirNadroj! I spotted these on your flickr yesterday, I love the bridge technique, it's very clever! The WIP vig one is my favourite, with the foliage and 'gater waiting below. ~Peace

Maps for Explorers, Pirates, and Adventurers
iamded replied to Shadows's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Great job here, ImperialShadows! You know, when I saw that map (or rather, the big temple on the map) I instantly thought El Dorado. Reminds me of that animated film of the same name. Anyway, these are all useful indeed, thanks! ~Peace -
Another truly amazing creation you've got here, RebelRock! In particular, I love the battlement formations, the dark grey/light grey colour scheme for the brick work, the golden glags really fit in well too. The skull's a nice touch on the tower, and the bones in the dunes give it that ruthless desert look. Along with the sand dunes. Again, another fantastic work! ~Peace

That's the piece. I remember getting a few of them way back in the Res-Q sets, only they didn't have the pin in them then. In other news, Mutt's hair piece looks pretty popular. I spotted it in the Ras-headed minifig in the largest Coast Guard set. ~Peace

Agents Misson 2: Swamp Raid (Pictures/Review) #8632
iamded replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, thanks for the great review, SirNadroj! The overall set is what attracted me in the first place, that elevated hut and swampy setting just sucked me right in! It all looks really nice to me, a definite buy. That Agents head would make a great Indy, for those opposed to fleshies. And that monobrow, I mean, villain guy looks very... er... well, the monobrow is unique, thought I noticed the suit looks a bit skin tight in the crotchal area. Don't look at me like that, you saw it too! Anyway, the helmet's the best part about the villain, great for Warhammer 40,000 Orks. ~Peace -
Hehe, great job, I like how you've got God with a smart suit, yet still with that great big bushy beard (to quote Hot Fuzz). Very clever how you've used that Exo-force tubing to hold the figs. The tiny town is very neat, I've been wanting to make a mini-scaled town for a while. It all looks very nice, and the monkey is a... er... unique touch. ~Peace

The Star Justice sets are packed with a lot of stickers too. I reckon Mars Mission can continue through, they've improved greatly this year, and I just love the colour scheme, especially for the astronauts, namely because of the orange. I'd look forward next year to seeing the more organic side of the aliens ships, after all, they're supposed to be mechanic-organic creations, and I reckon a big serpent like jet or something with a face could be neat. And some cool new things for the humeys, maybe some more military based vehicles. ~Peace

Huh? What's intense? Now, onto the shed. (Yes, it's a little late...) First off, I really like the general look of it. The... Tudor style, is it? That's what I hear it's called in Castle MOCs. Anyway, the roof is great sloped to one side like that, and the red/yellow and black colour scheme looks great! The Arkham padlock is a neat touch, and the brown chain fits in much better than a grey or black one would. The back (or side) with the window looks very nice, I mean that, really nice. All polite and kind looking. The complete opposite of the brutal interior. The hanging chains and pools of blood, the mangled corpses, the shadows, all look fantastic. The intestine snakes are another great detail, and I really like the weapons, er, utensils you've chosen, especially the spiked club meat tenderiser! Great job once again! ~Peace

ExoBuilder, always trying to grab the spotlight. I'd quite while you're ahead. GET IT? A HEAD?! AHAHAHAA! Sorry, no offence intended, I just had to use that joke. Don't worry, there's always the chance that you'll be resurrected or turned into a cyborg for a return next season! ~Peace

What faction from Castle do you represent?
iamded replied to Dovchenko's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Indeed! How could you say that?! To add a poll, as said, you need to be a Knight or higher, meaning have more than 500 posts. If you have less than 500, you can always ask a Mod or Admin politely to add a poll for you, or you could ask someone with over 500 posts to make a new thread with a poll. To add something to posts you've already made, click Edit at the bottom of the post. Hope that helped! Trolls ftw! ~Peace -
Well, mainly I have to get 'round to equipping my troops with some weapons. Then I'll need a cool scene to put them in. ~Peace

I don't mind the whole Dwarf:Troll ratio, as I really can't picture a large army of Dwarves, I see them more as inventors in machines, yet an army of trolls I can picture. Another thing, I don't think we've actually gotten confirmation of elves. I will be thoroughly disappointed if next year rolls by and passes on the elves. I bet no one would be expecting that. ~Peace
