I'm pretty sure I saw I review of this somewhere around here... An exclusive to Legoland or something. And the first maiden may look hotter, but the new one has more 'defined' curves. ~Peace

Those're indeed sweet! Could you post a pic of a mini-fig with the bow? Pretty please? Ah yes, Knights Kingdom, great provider of crossbows, great diminisher of classic bows. ~Peace

Woo! A Castle-based comic! I really liked this one, Sandy! Thought the ending may have been a tad predictable, it was a great story, with great scenery too. Awesome buildings, I particularly like the King's stand, very cool indeed and well fitted to the Castle '07 colour scheme, no red this time! Another great thing is the diversity of minifigs, you've really mixed everything up and it looks great! Sir Dancelot made me laugh. I look forward to seeing what lies ahead for our brave Princess, I just hope it doesn't involve harming dragons, we have a very dragon-friendly attitude here in the H&A forum. ~Peace

What can I say, other than... Sweet! Super sweet! Mega uber sweet! That Volcano Base is one sweet set! Look at all that trans light orange! Mission 8, well, 8 is my lucky number! Sweet. The sub set is pretty cool too, but that Volcano one, man is it sweet! ~Peace

Catchy music. Nice find! ~Peace

Well, I like it! It's like a super battle tower! I like the mixture of Crownie and Troll architecture and building style, with some Dwarven looking builds as well. A neat, detailed MOC indeed! I hope to see more MOCs from you in future! My one nit-pick however, is the inclusion of red in the colour scheme. Other than that, it's sweet! ~Peace

Holodoc works as an Emergency Medical Hologram?! Sweet! Those're some sweet fist Lego sets you got there, Holodoc! Classic Space is growing on me. Your tracking parts on the computer thing reminds me of when I was at dragonator's house, and he was marking down all the sets he has or something. He has a lot. Oh, and a sig-fig is what people use to represent themselves in Lego. A little minifig they can call themselves. Some people like to use their sig-fig in their avatar or signature, but it really has nothing to do with either of those, just the Lego mini-fig. (Or Fabuland fig, or... Gylman fig. ) Good suggestions for sets as well, Wild West, Pirates, and Romans are something we could all go for. So, thanks Holodoc, imperialshadows and Stauder for bringing us another fantastic interview! Quick, edit the post and delete that question! If you ask, they'll never let you in! ~Peace

Well, that is a possibility. But I don't see why we need a new mold. A new bow would be cool, as it could be more Elven in design, but the current quiver is fine for an Elf. Just my opinion anyway. By the way, is this how you spell mold? My spell check says it's wrong, but mould just reminds me of that fuzzy green stuff on the cheese that's been sitting in the fridge for over a year. ~Peace

M10: Still in the tavern... Adym sat there just inside the tavern, next to the door, twiddling his thumbs and wondering. How was the battle coming along? Had the enemy broken through our defences yet? Had we pushed the enemy back yet? Had the guy who I threw a rock at regained consciousness yet? Would Dragonator answer these questions? Is anyone going to eat that croissant? No? Good. Adym happily munched on a crossoint, whilst waiting for an update on the battle. Meanwhile... Somnium sat there, under the bridge just next to the tavern, on a small outcrop of rock, twiddling his thumbs and wondering. How was the battle coming along? Had the enemy driven back our attack? Had we broken through the enemy's defences? Had that guy who threw the rock at me been killed yet? Would, er. Would I ever come out from the safety that is under the bridge? Suddenly a section of the outcrop he was sitting on crumbled and cracked and splashed into the river, with a few pebbles chasing down after it. Well, it's still safer than up there, with crazy rock throwing people.

I hear you there. My army has at least 4 of each spear-men, axe-men and swords-men, but only three archers. However I don't understand the second part of your statement. TLC has brought back the original axes, spears and swords, just in new colours. Like they made new swords, as seen in Vikings and KK, but then they brought back the old swords in silver, which I think is way cooler than dark grey. Still, I wonder if the Elves will have the classic bow and arrow, or a new mold. (Surely not crossbows though, that's just ridiculous. ) ~Peace

What an awesome building, Holodoc! All the detail you've packed in here is incredible, from the interior to the architecture! Great MOC! ~Peace

I agree. Besides, I've got plenty or quiver-less archers, so I need more quivers! ~Peace
-
Ah yes. I got that after I googled it. I, apparently, have a murse. ~Peace

Man, I never even thought of using that part for a torch. You're a genius! Thanks for the neat review, this is definately a sweet way to bolster your Troll army. However, I see the cart as an attack platform, not a weapons holder. I always thought the spears were there to impale people as the Troll merrily ran along with his cart. ~Peace

You know what? Lego Castle needs more sets for 2008!

Not to mention the Impulse sets and those smaller sets are (in my opinion) great for army building and if you want more Castle sets, you can stock up on them! That's gonna be what empties my wallet by Christmas. ~Peace -
Thanks for the review, BrickBitz! This is a cool set, I love all the weapons you get and that sweet brick-built plane. If only the City planes were like this, they would be so much better. Thanks again, BrickBitz! ~Peace

Murse? What the heck is that? I thought that was just a carrying bag, not a quiver. I kind of suspected we'd get quivers and those 'murses'. Yes, I was thinking that, but the hair comes from the top of the head, not around the neck. Here's a refresher (thanks to the Bonaparte's front page post back then, and Pigbrick for getting the picture :wink). I really like the helmet, and the head reminds me of the ones in the Asian themed Orient Expedition sets. ~Peace
-
I think the Elves will have normal mini-fig heads, as that's what I got from the picture we saw. I'm really wondering if the hair will have a stud on the top for helmets, or if, as I said before, the hair and helmet is one piece. Or if the hair is a separate piece but only compatable with Elf helmets. I'm also hoping for new longbows, other wise I'll have to make a BrickForge order. Well, just makin' sure, and letting others know. ~Peace

Well, I loved the line-up we've had so far, and I can't wait to pick up a couple of the Troll Impulse sets, along with the other two later on. The Castle Advent Calendar is something I'm really looking forward to. I have to disagree with your "'toys' mainly aimed at the younger castle fans" statement, as, if it's anything like the City Advent Calendars, in my opinion the small builds will add to your displays well. I certainly can't wait to see what we get. As for the 'Giant Castle Chess Set', well, I agree it's too expensive for the average AFOL. I mean, it's been all talked over in the Castle '08 thread about the price being reasonable for the content and parts count, but really, who would pay $350 NZ, or $200 US for that, no matter how cool it looks? For the same amount of money you can get the entire '08 Castle line with multiple Impulses, and still have change. Anyway, I know what you're getting at. Every year it gets to Christmas and there's that one Lego set I just couldn't afford throughout the year, which I finally get. This year I've got everything all sorted. Another thing to remember, we've still got to look forward to seeing those Elves! Peace ~iamded -
A new avatar and sig. Castle month is over, Indy month is the now! ~Peace

Hmm... let's see... Knight's Kingdom knights and those 5 or so heads TLC's decided to use in all the new sets. Seriously, can't we have more diversity? ~Peace
-
Thanks for the review, Mr. Mandalorian! This is an, er, interesting set. Lots of frontal fire-power. Very big too, and I like the idea of those two little craft that attach on the sides. Sort of like little escape pod things. Anywho, not one of the things on my to buy list, but I do like that radio-active sticker, that could come in use. Looking forward to seeing your modifications, too! ~Peace

Hamburger Stand! Hooray! ~Peace

What faction from Castle do you represent?
iamded replied to Dovchenko's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Honestly, what sets don't have a catapult or ballista? Let's see: Tower Raid, though that has flick-fire missiles. The Knight and The Good Wizard, but those are Impulse sets. Final Joust Skeleton Prison Carriage Dwarf Key Chain The 2 Battlepacks The 2 Chess Sets Skeleton Chariot So, that's 11/21. Well, at least over half the sets don't have catapults. Oh wait, that was completely off-topic. Sorry! Again, Trolls! ~Peace -
Another awesome creation, Chuck! I love how you can fit so much detailing into small MOCs, the machine gun is as always very cool. ~Peace
