I'd not want to get a glued set. As for the missing LDraw parts, you could try emailing some of the people that make those with a list of requests, and they could make them for you. Or you could try manually taking pictures of it as you build it, but depending on the size and complexity of the MOCs, this could be rather hard.

Eurobricks' 3rd LDD RCB
brickmack replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'd like to sign up. Preferably around the middle area in terms of order if possible. -
Sounds like a cool idea. I think he meant like people find parts at a PAB wall that they think others might find useful, and then another person finds parts they think someone might find useful. They find each others parts online, and each sends their cup of parts to the other. They both get parts they want, and since the cups (assuming they are the same size) would have about the same amount of parts, it would be a fair trade.

Wow. That's just incredible. I can't even figure out how it's built though, the SNOT is going in about 30 directions and angles!

They probably just havent gotten around to it yet since the newest sets have only been out for a few weeks now, and it takes a while to put up that many sets of instructions. Possibly, but unlikely. If someone was the type of person that does that kind of stuff, they would probably already know of other sites that would have the instructions available. So this wouldn't prevent such sales by any useful amount. Of course, it's always possible this was LEGO's plan, but they just overlooked that.

2 brick separators (So I can take apart stuck plates), a minifigure crowbar for taking off plates (yea, LEGO actually designed it to work as a crowbar ), a toothbrush for cleaning off hard to remove bits of gunk, and some Q-Tips and a small air blower thing for dusting inside the bricks

I don't know of any. I think this would be rather hard to program anyway, since to do this, the program would have to be able to go through all of the sets you have, figure out from that what all parts you have, and then check through every set ever made (except yours, since obviously you could make those) and check to see if you have the parts to make them. I think there are nearly 10000 sets made so far, and I'd guess each one has an average of say, 100-200 parts, so that could take an hour or two by itself to check. Then it has to compile all the results into a list, which depending on the size of the list, could take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. So it would take a long time to get any results anyway.

Well, I didn't technically buy it, but I got Police Boat from a family member, since it was on sale 50% off. My guess is that the store had it so cheap because they hadn't been able to sell a single one. It's normally 40 dollars here, but its only got 172 parts, one of which is that stupid floating part used for the big ships! There are like some useful parts I'll keep, but I'm definitely not keeping the floating part. (I'm fairly certain also that for 40 dollars, the big floating thing could be taken out, the ship made a few centimeters shorter, and slopes and basic bricks could be used to make the hull. Then it would actually be worth buying at full price...) </rant>

Adding some minifgs doing stuff, maybe some flowers, perhaps adding a road next to it could all help. Also if you have the parts, making your own modular building might look cool too (Bit of warning: You will need a HUGE amount of parts. I've been working on one for about 2 weeks now, and I used up all of my tan bricks and I'm not quite done with the first floor even).

Looks nice. Lots of nice details on everything. The palm tree sticking out of the car looks kinda odd, but I guess that's what the people wanted, so oh well... Saw this on your Flickr a few days ago (Didn't even know you had a Eurobricks account)

I had a magnet attached to the bottom of it (I was planning to have it as a docking tool for a space station I might make eventually) but I took it off before I took the pictures because I was worried the magnetic field might damage my camera. Not sure though on that, I'll have to do some tests later. The cockpit is actually the same design as was used in most of the Blacktron II sets, but I added some stuff to the front to make it more studless.

Would you buy this set for $20 (beware..other bricks)
brickmack replied to bricklayer's topic in General LEGO Discussion
20 sounds okish, but it's still megacrap. I'm surprised NASA is even allowing MB to use this, since they just did that deal with LEGO (LEGO can make sets with a modern space theme, and NASA puts information about the real space vehicles in each set, or something like that). -
I wish... Unfortunately the trans-neon-green parts I used for the windscreen are the only ones of those parts I have, and a lot of the other parts I don't have many of... Maybe eventually I'll get enough for another one, but certainly not a fleet.
-
Originally I just got the Star Wars stuff and on EXTREMELY rare occasion a Space set, but now I get stuff from any theme (often just for parts though). This year alone I've gotten sets from Atlantis, Ninjago, Pharaoh's quest, Hero Factory, Kingdoms, City, the Collectible Minifigs (Wow I've spent too much on those), Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, World Racers, Toy Story, the Modular Buildings, and one of the "Large Scale Sets", and thats not even including the 10+ themes I've bought from this year online or at garage sales or other places.

Thanks. It was inspired by the Deep Sea Raider set.

There are cannons on each engine (Dark bley thing) but they are kinda small. In hindsight, I probably should have added something to make them longer, but I was kinda worried about overdoing it since it seemed odd to have a mining company with extremely heavily armed fighters when this was meant as just a light defense ship.
-
I've started getting a lot into making M:Tron MOCs, so here is my first spaceship from the theme: The MT-9 Mining Defense Fighter Unfortunately, I don't yet have any M:Tron minifigures, so I used the closest substitute I could make with my minifig parts I do have. Planning to make some more of these, and a few more ground vehicles.

Cool. Nice details like the rocket and stuff. I think I've seen that design for a dome before... I should try it sometime...

I've gotten a few sets recently that had the smooth slopes still. Personally I like the smooth ones better since the bumps look kinda odd to my when I look close at my space stuff, but it's annoying that LEGO keeps having that problem.

I've never actually had a sound brick to play around with, but I imagine if it were taken apart, there is something inside that could be reprogrammed to play another sound, or more likely, a section of the circuit board has a chip or something that has the sound already set in, in which case the only way to change the sound would be to remove that chip (which risks breaking the circuit board) and replace it with a different chip with your own sound. If I get a set that includes one, I'll look, but I probably won't get any since I just don't like that kind of set because the brick gets in the way...

These look really nice. Too bad the creator hasn't commented (or likely even created a EB account). Havent seen that movie yet, but it looks great. Didn't know Olivia Wilde was in it though, even more reason to watch it

how much time do you spend on LEGO?
brickmack replied to happymark's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I usually spend 1-2 hours a day building, and about 30 minutes daily sorting. I get a new set on average twice per week (but often just a small thing). I also spend a few hours per month on LDD. And I don't sell LEGO. -
I think they give tours of the factory sometimes (but I'm not sure) but I don't think they let people into the Vault except for the occasional group taking pictures for magazines and stuff.
-
If I remember correctly, LEGO has had a lot of problems before with the slope parts, specifically with the "bumpiness" on the sloped part. This isn't really a particularly new problem, but LEGO usually fixes these types of problems quickly.

The English is a bit difficult to understand. By "Co-design program" does it mean programs for making digital LEGO stuff, like LDD or another LEGO CAD program?
