  1. I'm using a fedora and cloak as a basic stormtrooper, though there have been a few remarks about my strange uniform. If I were you, I would just hold back until you get your first promotion. Once you're in the Survey Corps, you can customize your uniform to suit your current mission with a great deal of latitude.
  2. Two? You're really tweaking some of us, ACPin. Lucky you.
  3. I'm fine with that. Maybe we could have some people help by monitoring these posts to make sure are keeping track of their score correctly. As we saw in the aftermath of Episode III, math is not the Empire's strong suit, and official confirmation would be a nice check on human error. By the way, VK-318 has 3 points from freebuild "Desk Job," 6 points from Episode IV entry "Operation NOSECONE," and 6 points from Episode V entry "Big Rig" = 15 points total. You have 12 indexed; you evidently missed the freebuild; it didn't get much publicity and it was a long time ago.
  4. Boy, you really like that cockpit design, don't you? Still, if it works, why not? I like the way you added transparent parts to the underside too. Must be a bit fragile, though.
  5. Welcome to Eurobricks! And my, that Exo-Force tank is something of a blast from the past. A little garish, no? The robot is an excellent build, and I like the way you integrated those plates into the legs. Maybe some shots from behind would be nice, though, to see a bit more of how he's put together. That weapon in the right hand/at the end of the right arm looks great too; maybe some pictures that show some more of it?
  6. Some of the joint pieces might be new, HF ones, but a few are Creator additions (the ones with studs) while the rest have been around since early-to-mid-era Bionicle series.
  7. As a longtime user of Bionicle, I would guess that you just didn't get very lucky with your parts. The tolerance for error in the Bionicle joints is a little problematic sometimes, so while some of them stick very well, others don't.
  8. You sound like a good Imperial recruit for Shadows of Nar Eurbricka! JOIN TODAY! While I still am not likely to buy the gunship, I do think, as I said earlier, an excellent design. Furthermore, if it were not so far off-color relative to my usual MOC's and if I weren't so dis-interested in Wookiees, I probably would buy it. It's a good set, just not my cup of tea.
  9. I joined as a way to help drive me out of my dark ages. I needed a hobby, I had some Lego's, and I liked what I saw in SoNE, especially the chance to compete in a very, very friendly contest and be (hopefully) funny. By the way, Legofin2012, what's up with the Jedi insignia on your uniform? Are you in fact a double agent for the Rebellion?
  10. Mine shipped today. Confusing indeed. Oh, well. As long as it gets here, I'm not complaining.
  11. Same here. It was sold out instantly, as far as I can tell. Trouble is, most of western Europe and a whole time zone in the U.S. got access to it before I did, so when I realized to late that Lego didn't pay attention to Daylight Savings Time, I was well and truly late to the party. It's on order, with a couple of other things, but since they said it was in fact out of stock, I'm guessing I'll get it eventually. Oh, well, I can wait; I've got some other, really massive Lego projects coming up soon anyway.
  12. Okay, so he's now used the craft knife and Superglue, and Fuppylodders is advising nail polish remover ... I think we have a budding Lord Business on our hands here! Seriously, though, well done. Fuppylodders probably has the right idea, however ... gruesome it may be. By the way, it's really quite interesting how easily "Kragle" has entered the AFOL vocabulary.
  13. I also dislike stickers; my solution is just to not apply them. I've got loads of sticker sheets in a Ziploc bag, and I'm probably never going to touch them. Really, it doesn't impact the looks enough to bother me, and I hate the sight of a misapplied or peeling sticker. I do agree with Brickdoctor, this is a very well engineered set. It just isn't my kind of set - I'm not crazy about Wookiees, and a heap of tan bricks wouldn't be much use to me for MOC'ing. But the minifigures look like a great perk, now that I take another look. I might be picking them up on Bricklink at some point; I've certainly got to get that new face for Jarrus, and maybe the torso and legs too.
  14. Absolutely right. The biggest factor, honestly, in the price of a retired set is the whims of the Lego community. Investing in Lego is sort of a gamble, but there is one nice side benefit - if the sets don't sell, you can always just keep them!
  15. Looks like you Brits are finally getting some pricing justice! I'm sure somebody's already noted, but it's $34.99 on S@H here in the States. It is visible on S@H, but you can't purchase it yet. Presumably they're setting it up this way to minimize the risk of technical breakdowns on August 1st that might bring hordes of angry Classic Space fans across the Atlantic to storm Lego headquarters and demand their Exo-Suits.
  16. In general, it seems that sets are more likely to increase in value if they (a) are the first set representing a given subject (especially true for ships) or are the first to contain a minifigure of a given character; (b) are unusually expensive to begin with; and/or © are held for an extremely long time. Some sets or groups of sets become unpredictably more valuable as time goes on, or gain in value very little. For instance, Ice Planet (an early space theme, a kind of Power Miners of that day) sets are highly valuable, while Spyrius, another space theme that ran at the same time, costs about the same to buy now as it cost back then. In general, all sets increase in value, but the rate of increase varies and may sometimes not be worth it. But, I say go ahead!
  17. Looks terrific! You might want to try to incorporate a bit more gray in the color scheme, since this looks just a bit too orange, and I think you have some transparent elements performing the wrong functions (yellow for weapons and light blue for thrusters is the way it's done in the sets). But the Power Functions is a really great idea. How well does it work? For instance, do those legs slip very much on the floor? Are there any flooring materials that are especially difficult for it?
  18. Great work with the rotating cockpit - that may be the most space-efficient way to make it rotate that has been done yet. You might try shortening the S-foils (the fold-out wings), though; they seem a little too long the way they are.
  19. Yep, this is the right place to put it. We get steampunk Star Wars stuff in this forum from time to time. I've never seen anyone do the Slave I before, and this is pretty good. Everything has a purpose - there are no random parts and scaffolding hanging around just to fill space. But, ah - is that a turnkey I spot? Is this ship powered by a wind-up key?
  20. I didn't mean that it has 360-degree rotation - just that it has a 360-degree field of view. In other words, I couldn't come up with an original way to make the head rotate and blast off at the same time. Absolutely! Go right ahead!
  21. Let's face it, walking mechs suck. They're unstable, they break down easily, and they cost more to repair. That's why we designed the new 69-series Multi-Mover, the wheeled mech that rolls right over the competition. You can't beat the Multi-Mover for mobility. Many wheeled mechs have trouble taking ramps without overbalancing or losing control, but our patented, fully-articulated leading truck guides the Multi-Mover smoothly over or around any sort of obstacle. When the end of the shift comes around, you're bound to want a bite to eat. Most companies make you leave your lunchbox behind, but the Multi-Mover comes complete with a dedicated secure niche for lunchboxes, or any other cargo you should want to store on board. Our innovative cockpit design allows full 360-degree view of your surroundings, vital when working in a busy warehouse or conducting salvage work on an inhospitable world. And when everything goes terribly wrong, you can rocket away to safety thanks to the built-in propulsion and detachable control platform. No other design can match the reach, range of motion, and sheer strength of the Multi-Mover's fork arm. You'll be able to add whole new levels to your storage shelves! Not every package can be handled by forks, though. For those who deal with M:Tron, we've included a magnetic gripper, and the Multi-Mover has one of our patented grabbers for those awkward packages nothing else will grip. Rest assured, the 69-series Multi-Mover will see you through thousands of hours of heavy hauling. And if it fails, we offer a five-Earth year unlimited warranty. Simply place the Multi-Mover back in its shipping crate and send it back to us with a note detailing the problem, and we'll deliver a replacement within 48 standard hours! So don't wait, visit www.spyriusindustries.com and make a purchase your employees and your banker will thank you for. And, to make it easier for you to put the Multi-Mover to work for you today, for a limited time only we are offering special easy-payment plans to suit your cash flow needs. Spyrius: You need it, we'll get it. (NOTE! This thread is a response to Lind Whisperer's Neo-Classic Space Loadlifter Mech. Anybody got a good idea for a Blacktron industrial mech? How about M:Tron? Or Ice Planet? Maybe Unitron? Bring it on! The cornier, the better.)
  22. Great work with the sales pitch! Classic Space isn't usually played for humor, but this is pretty good. Oh, and the build isn't too bad either. Stay tuned for the competition!
  23. Ah. I stand corrected. Maybe this episode I can finally finish one of the two or three freebuilds sitting around and cluttering up my workspace.
  24. Yes. Go for it!
  25. I would like the tag, please! While you are updating scores in the Core Rules and Player Index, could somebody remind Brickdoctor to get the "planets available for faction freebuilds" list straightened out? It's been out of date since Episode 3!
