  1. Great work Kai and the rest of the builders for putting this project together... it's been a treat to watch it unfold! You've certainly inspired me.
  2. Ooh, this looks promising - i hope to see more of this as it progresses! Are you planning to texture the ground (courtyard) some more, or just leave it as bare studs?
  3. Beautiful build, congrats on being blogged on TBB! I love the hight of the walls, everything looks perfectly proportioned and so compact. The action is great too... my money is on the bear!
  4. Oh this is lovely robuko! Great job on the wall colours, unusual combinations but they work so well here. That golden roof is pretty stupendous too!
  5. Excellent vignette, everything looks so well placed and natural. I love the small trees in the foreground, they really help to frame the scene. Beautiful stuff!
  6. Sweet looking tree Ecc, that's certainly one to put in the technique bank!
  7. Thanks! Yeah me too... my tasks list seems like a hydra these days, knock one job off and two spring up to take it's place. Hmm, that gives me an idea... Cheers robuko! I was concerned that my absence had inconvenienced the guild, but i needed have worried. So good to see so many active builders here still - i look forward to joining in the fun again! As for poor Berigora, well... Beauty, truth, and rarity. Grace in all simplicity, Here enclos'd in cinders lie. Death is now the phoenix' nest; And the turtle's loyal breast To eternity doth rest, Leaving no posterity (with apologies to Shakers )
  8. Very nice! Great to see flat track derby in lego. Gosh it's been a long time since i went to a bout... it was nice when it was small, but the i find the crowds these days a bit much..
  9. I'm excited about building some more in GoH... once i clear my work desk that is! A couple of weeks and i'll be back for sure.
  10. Lovely work Kayne! The roof in particular looks a treat and the small side towers (?) are intruiging. I'm not a huge fan of the third party plant parts either, but the colours of the ground cover work wonderfully well here.
  11. Beautiful! Some sweet vegetation going on there and the turtle is a great touch.
  12. Nice one showing the varied birdlife of the lone mountain! I particularly like the red-bellied strutter, they look so improbable, like wind-up toys. As an avid twitcher, i might have to arrange a field trip to bag a few ticks!
  13. Another sweet build - those mushrooms look great massed like that, and the frogs add a nice dash of bright colour. I'd love to have seen a higher angle on this build. I'm not 100% convinced by the trees however - i would have thought they'd look more mangrove-like (bulbous at the base, with thicker, hanging foliage) so far south? The rockwork is appropriately foreboding though for such a mysterious destination!
  14. Ah, beautiful composition Gideon. The lack of minifigs really adds to the atmosphere of romantic, slow decay. I'm loving these tourism mocs and this might be my favourite so far.
  15. Stunning build Erynlasgalen! Simple yet elegant. This certainly is an oasis for tired eyes to rest upon... i've already made several visits on Flickr!
  16. Ohh i remember this place... it had a huge winding stair that led, well, somewhere i never was quite sure actually! I always meant to visit here if i had the chance, thanks for reminding me of it Masa. Really lovely build too, nice fp.
  17. Lovely build ska, the white pillars and arches are nicely compimented by the inset coloured panels. The arch reminds me a little of Constantine's arch in Rome.
  18. No Sopworth Camel until after i finish work! ;)

  19. Oh my goodness, it's been so long! Sorry guys about being away from GoH for such an extended amount of time. Still, it's exciting to see so many new mocs - the tourism builds are lovely and a great idea! I'm going to have to sit down and have a proper look at them, as well as go through all the sweet challenge 6 entries. I am still keen to build in Kaliphlin and continue with some of the stories i've started, but it might still be a few weeks away before i get the chance to post any new builds... i'm pretty crazy busy with work and life in general atm. But hopefully i'll be able to get it together to comment in the threads a little more regularly! ps. Congrats Ska for finding a Mr. Gold! Whatever you end up doing with it, it's a great score.
  20. building trees in my sleepzzzzz

  21. Sweet build ISC, some lovely angles going on in there. The sparse trees and muted tones look great for a graveyard scene. Love the flying bats!
  22. Great to see you managed to get this moved to GoH, where it belongs! Don't do yourself down about building out of your preferred themes, this is a lovely, clean build with some sweet details (i really like the ladder and the table legs). The irregular base is simple yet very suggestive of a mountain outpost too. Nice work!
  23. I am a bit out of things at the moment, so am a little confused... Avalonian elves are attacking Mitgardia? Why? Nice build though! The bent tree looks nice and lush.
  24. Thanks NM, it's good (although daunting too!) to be back... challenge 6 is giving my storywriting brain a bit of a bashing atm... Cheers, glad you like it! Yes i agree... it's important to leave some room for happy accidents and sudden inspirations whilst building, it really can make a build. Thanks again! Aw thanks DC, i'm glad you enjoyed my build. I did have a lot of fun building it - it kinda tickled me to build such a huge pirate-themed moc without a cannon or musket in sight!
