When he mentioned blue and red as the colors I believe he was responding to my follow up question about the set box design and color. So, I think he was saying that the box colors are blue and red. I could be wrong though, as I didn't ask him for a further clarification of what he was referring to when he said blue and red.

I was able to obtain some info from Forum Member Klaus-Dieter. He has seen prelims for various 2016 themes. Unfortunately, he didn't pay Nexo Knights much attention when viewing the prelims, but when I asked if he had any info on the theme he did say the following: "...when looking through the catalogue I saw that Nexo Knights are regular knights fighting on overdimensional robots (like Transformers)." I also asked him if he could provide details on the box design and/or colors and he responded: "Nexo Knights' mainly colors are blue and red. Very corny and has nothing to do with a historical castle theme but more like SciFi meets Castle." So, thanks to Klaus-Dieter for this information!

I think that "Lance's Robo Horse" will be more of a vehicle build than a mechanical beast build, by which I mean that it likely will have the minifig in some sort of cockpit in the horse's back as opposed to the figure riding the horse. Mainly due to size/scale considerations. And since this looks to be a take on a mounted knight set model, I guess it will incorporate a lance (also the fig's signature weapon if rumors are correct) into the build on a larger than minifig scale. Wonder if there is a way to "launch" the lance or lances within the current piece lineup? Also, I think we can probably stop waiting for set info leaks. Looks like Lego has this on a pretty tight lock down and the few people who have either seen a catalog or have information sources either cannot obtain any info at this time or used their resources/time to obtain info on the lines that they were primarily interested in or collected (which looks like Star Wars and Superheros if forum activity is any indication) for which I don't blame them! No, we will probably have to wait for the inevitable leaked images before we get any more details. And that, if history is any indication, means a wait of another 2-4 weeks or so.

Okay, my bad. You're right. I forgot about the bionicle protector figs. And agreed on the Disney I.P. issue. They are very vigorous when it comes to their protection of their I.P.! As for the bowcaster making an appearance in Nexo Knights or any other theme (I could see it making it's way into the Ninjago sky pirates wave) I guess that remains to be seen. Since BrickJagger and amazingbricks were the one's who started the discussion on this, perhaps they can elaborate as to whether they were speculating or if they actually obtained this info from their sources.

I agree with you to a point. But the truth is that "sunk costs" will win out over uniqueness or exclusivity. There is no way that they won't re-use that weapon after having spent R&D dollars on it and manufactured the molds. On the other hand, last year's stud "gatling-guns" were (I believe) exclusive to Star Wars for one wave before spreading to Ultra Agents and Ninjago for the 2015 summer wave. So, they might keep this exclusive to SW for a bit. But then again, if Robin's weapon is a bow I can totally see them giving him/her this weapon instead of the one piece bow & arrow weapon that we have seen in other medieval sets. Sorry, did I miss something? Compare what to his descriptions of what? I thought he only posted about SW and Super Hero sets...?

In the absence of set pics/descriptions, I have been trying to figure out what the series unifying theme or "gimmick" might be. The theme which Nexo Knights is supposed to replace, Chima, had the name of its location in the title and the resource that the factions were fighting for as the root word of the location. In other words, the theme name gave away some details about the sets. I think the title Nexo Knights refers to the name or type of the group of knights in the theme as opposed to the location of the theme. Given the set name in the leaked list, I think that the location of the theme will be "Knighton" or at least that is the name of the Nexo Knight's country/city. For what it's worth, vocabulary.com defines the word Nexo as "shifting from one form of transportation to another" or "a fastener that serves to join or connect". Well, the second definition plays into the fact that this is Lego we are talking about here. That leaves us with the first definition. Which leads me to believe that the sets may have a gimmick where they can transform from one mode of transport to another (land to air for example). This might also help to explain the function of the rumored (?) "Walking Fortress" set ( I believe that other members besides Nekchir mentioned this set?). Perhaps the legs are retractable so that the fortress set can be a stationary base or a moving walker-like vehicle. The Nexo Knights themselves may possess this ability which could be what we are looking at with the Ultimate Sets. Several "in the know" board members have stated that these sets are "minifigs with accessories". Perhaps the accessories are designed to transform the minifig somehow and give it powers of flight or extreme ground speed. I imagine such a transformation will be technological in nature via mechanized parts but it could also be magical.

If Just2Good said more info is coming next week (i.e. this upcoming week?) then that's good enough for me. I'd love to see pics, but at this point, set descriptions will do just fine. Let's see what the next few days bring! I just want to have nice things like the other forums!! Is that so wrong?!! LOL!

I applaud the "outside the box thinking" on how to get set info. However, the likelihood of you being successful is pretty much zero. Yes, TRU would get a retailer catalog just like any other retailer and places orders from Lego just like any other retailer but on a much larger scale. But, unlike other smaller retailers, TRU has a purchasing department that is based in their head office or their regional headquarters - not in their retail stores. So, this is pretty much a waste of time unless you know someone who works in their head office or in corporate and who is in the merchandising/purchasing division. At this point, I just wish the forum members who are in the know would just spill the beans and tell us what they have seen. It would make this thread much better and end the pages and pages of discussion that seem to involve everything but the sets themselves.

Yeah, the "individual watermark" comment was likely something that Nekchir devised to back up his story and continue the charade for as long as he could. In any case, I highly doubt Lego would even do that as I believe another member who works in the printing industry said that it would necessitate the custom printing of individual catalogs which is simply not cost effective. Lego knows damn well that information and eventually set pics will get leaked. There is no way that they can be that naive. Their goal in that regard is to a) prevent it from happening for as long as possible and b) to try to stamp out set pic leaks as soon as possible as they happen. And to help them with that, they rely on the online Lego community to cooperate with them in that regard in exchange for which Lego gives them some perks/benefits/revenue. Anyways.........trying to get back on topic. Any idea what might be in the set "Jestro's Companions of Darkness"? The name doesn't really give an indication but since the rest of the wave looks to be vehicle-focused I'm guessing it is a base for the enemy faction?

If you want to see a retailer catalog, your best bet is to become friendly with the owner/manager of a local, independent toy/hobby/comic shop that sells the sets. All such outlets receive the retailer catalogs and have been known to let their good customers or friends "have a look". Given Lego's policies concerning the catalogs (NDA's and the like), there is no way that they will let you take pictures of the pages, etc. But they will let you "check it out" in their presence for a couple of minutes, thus committing to memory whatever you can. That, I believe is how the current batch of information is making its way through the boards.

I asked him. He said that he could not recall any details regarding the box colors. Unfortunately, our wait for information continues.
-
Hey, I asked him for details. That's what he told me. So I put it in the forum. The info is what it is. I did press him for some additional details and he told me that he could not recall anything. He said he flipped past the Ninjago sets and did not really spend any time looking at them. I am grateful that Hulk_Smash took the time to respond to me and tell me/us what he did. But I suppose on the bright side, now that we are starting to get some set descriptions (other boards are active with that stuff now), it should be just a matter of time before we get some more detailed info.

Further to my earlier post, after I got that info from Hulk_Smash I asked him if there were any additional details that he could recall on the sets. Unfortunately, he could not recall anything specific. He said that he "flipped past them" and did not spend any time looking at them. I know that people are getting frustrated at the void of information as am I. I'm grateful that Hulk_Smash took the time to tell me/us what he did. Based on that and the other bits of info we have, I think it is safe to say that the classic castle/steampunk castle thing is dead. This looks like a futuristic castle line with perhaps more sci-fi or space elements. But I suppose on the bright side, now that we are starting to get some set descriptions (other boards are active with that stuff now), it should be just a matter of time before we get some more detailed info.

Hi All. I received some information on the Nexo Knights sets from Hulk_Smash who has been a reliable source of set information. This is what he told me about the sets: "I briefly saw the Exo Knights, which look cool, but all I really know is it's the castle theme but futuristic." Unfortunately, he was unable to provide any additional details. But I guess it does at least shed some more light on what we are looking at in terms of theme. That being a futuristic castle line. Thanks to Hulk_Smash for this information!

Hi All. Some information on the 2016 sets from Hulk_Smash who has been a reliable source of information in the past. This is what he shared with me: "As for ninjago I flicked passed it and didn't see much, but I think there is some sort of flying vehicle or two." Unfortunately, he was unable to provide any additional details. But based on this it looks like we could have 2 sets that contain flying vehicles. Thanks Hulk_Smash for the info!

At this point, it's hard to filter the legit news from the fake news. At this point, from what I can recall, members that have "insider connections" have reported that the Ultimate sets are minifig's with various weapons and accessories. Not constraction figures. The price point is a bit too low for them to be constraction figures. I believe the same members mentioned these are not "gimmick" sets like spinjitzu or the Chima speedorz. We know that they will retail for 9.99. So, we are looking at a rough piece count of 75-95 or somewhere thereabouts. So based on the selling price and projected piece count, there is no way that this is just a minifig with a few weapons and a stand. There has to be some kind of build-able item. The "exo-skeleton/mixel joint mech" theory is just that, a speculation that no one with any insider knowledge has confirmed. Having said that, I think these sets could be: - a minifig with several weapons including a larger build-able weapon with a shooter function - a minifig with several weapons and a small vehicle of some sort - a minifig with some kind of mech suit or exo skeleton - a "NEXO-skeleton"????? - a minifig with some kind of "beast" or since they are knights a "mount" of some sort If anyone who posted about the Ultimate packs being minifigs with "stuff" vs. constraction figures, please feel free to confirm or point out the error of my ways as I'm going from memory here. And at this point, we might also want to flush the fake news out of the thread.

Guessing: - Human but might have a another race of minions working for them crewing their ships, etc. - Asian inspired/influenced - judging by the SDCC logo they might have Sampan hats - Being pirates, they will probably have "irregular costuming" i.e. not have the same uniforms - Leader may have some kind of sidekick animal like a mechanical bird/beast - Katana's like in the logo - Stud shooters which could stand in for flint lock pistols - Maybe utilize the new stud shooter crossbow from the upcoming Star Wars TFA sets - I think they will utilize a combination of ballistic and melee weapons like classic pirates

Huh. Away for a day and I log into Eurobricks to find.......all....of...this....wow. I got caught up in "Nekchir-Gate" along with everyone else and in the end, the joke was on me. Oh well, moving on. Now that all that stuff has been debunked, we are left with the (incomplete) set list and logo. Along with some bits of info from other members "in the know". I guess at this point, we have to wait for one of these things: 1. Someone who has actually seen the catalog provides some set details (although if I was such a person now, I would really be questioning if it's worth it to do that). 2. Someone posts leaked images online. I estimate that one of these 2 things will happen within the next 2-3 weeks or so. Not a stretch I know, but it would line up with last year. Last year, a few members were able to get a look at the catalog via connections at local retailers and an anonymous poster on 4chan who claimed to have seen the retail catalog posted accurate set descriptions of the 2015 Ultra Agent sets prior to pics being leaked. A few more days of patience should yield some positive results!

True, but I have to believe that one of the 2 large sets is Ninja-centric. My guess is that one of them is the Air Pirate's stronghold and the other is the Ninja's new base of operations since it looks like they are on the run from Ninjago City. I think Tiger Widow Island is the Ninja base and Misfortune's Keep the Pirate stronghold. I think that these sets will either have a blue colored box-top or (more likely) black or very dark grey.

Hi. The earlier leaked set list from Amazon was incomplete. There is a missing set in the sequence (14) and I believe that CM4Sci mentioned that there were another 1 or 2 sets in addition to that one that were not on that initial list. So, the walking fortress (as well as a couple of other sets) is in this wave, but we don't have a set number or name for it yet.

Nekchir, if you are taking sign-ups for a PM, then please count me in! Seriously though, if this is in the realm of the possible for you then I would be eternally thankful. If not, then I understand completely. Thanks so much.
-
Well, since you are kind enough to ask.... Can you tell us what is in the set "Jestro's Companions of Darkness"? Also, can you provide some information on the Ninjago 2016 sets? Everyone on that board has been anxiously awaiting set details. Thanks again Nekchir! Best wishes!
-
Thanks Nekchir! Looking forward to them! And thanks for answering all our questions! I think you are going to be busy for the next few days!
-
Thanks for the info Nekchir! Will you be able to post set descriptions for us later once you are back at your store?
-
Hope you don't mind us asking lots of questions Nekchir! I have a couple of my own Can you tell us what, exactly, are the "Ultimate" sets? What do they contain? Could you post a brief description of each regular (i.e. non-ultimate) set so that we can get a sense of what they contain? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
